JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR
I was looking for a action figure set of the whole Simpsons Family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie. Now, here are the pros and cons.

Pros:
Contain of whole Simpsons Family
Cheap Price(Bought here)
Fun

Cons:
Living Room NOT compatible with other characters.

What's up you toy nerds?
The concept of collecting toys when you can afford a credit card is absurd, that is why I am a toy NERD. This particular flashback set has been out for a while,I'm glad it's cheaper in price cause it's getting ridiculous especially with the independent toy stores. So my review is this: it's good. I saw the picture and I know what I was getting. The delivery was quite efficient and speedy Gonzales. Last I'd like to add that I DO OPEN my toys, cause you only become obsessed with mint condition and never enjoy the essence of the collectables. Get a life me.

Most creative environment yet!
Unlike the 3 negative reviews above for this set I am totally HAPPY with mine. It arrived in absolutely MINT condition. there is not a crack/tear/rip/dent or messed up paint job anywhere on the set.
I still can't believe Playmates made this set. ...If you collect Simpsons WOS figures, then you need to get this NOW! before it's gone! ...

DISAPPOINTMENT...
Because this set was intended for collectors I thought no detail would be spared. Boy was I wrong. The box shows a picture on the front that shows what the Simpsons looked like back on the Tracy Ullman Show. The figures in this box look nothing like that picture. They look cheesy and cheap. Why oh why couldn't they have cleaned up the detail on these figures. Would it have been that hard to make the figures with the correct outfits? This set could have been such a gem, instead were left with a set destined for the bargain basement. Speaking of such, notice that the price of the set has been cut in half and still has not sold out. Even though it was this cheap price during Christmas. Hmmmmmmm....

OK For The Price
This Simpsons Flashback Playset would be better if the little figurines looked more like the actual Simpson family. They aren't really to play with, more for collectors or big fans of the show (like me). The paint job wasn't exactly perfect, but I didn't really mind. ... Read more

Fantastic Future!
This is one great set in the World of Springfield line! It comes with three great figures that include Future Burns, Future Smithers, and Bobo Smithers. Future Burns is setup like a robot, with his head preserved in a glass container, and the rest of his figure a machine. Future Smithers is the head of Smithers on the body of a robot dog, complete with movable head and four legs. Bobo Smithers comes dressed as Bobo, Mr Burns beloved teddy bear, in a playful stance that actually allows the figure to keep from tipping over, despite being balanced on one leg. Something different about this set, is that the Smithers figures have the glasses glued into their heads, to prevent the tiny accessories from getting lost or damaged. The only real accesory that comes with this set is a beaten up little Bobo figure, somewhat larger than the Bobo that came with Burns Manor. The environment that comes with the set is big enough to hold the two larger figures, while Future Smither prances about. The actual set itself is purple with a yellow background of Homer being used as a slave to lead a cart of rocks. If you love the show or the toy line, this is a must have set!

Simpsons Burns and Bobo set is a winner!!
GREAT SET!! Super detail and cool to look at. Displays great. Nice price point of $24.99. A collector must have. ... Read more

Teacher Review

Anyone can become a megamillionaire just like Mr. Burns with thiscollector's edition of Monopoly based on The Simpsons, the beloved,sometimes-controversial animated TV series. The rules of the game remain thesame, but the old Monopoly properties are now all Springfield landmarks, with anew monorail running across the game board. Players use tiny pewter game tokensof Bart, Homer, and other Springfield characters as they purchase stores, restaurants, and homes. Who wouldn't want to buy Krustylu Studios or theKwik-E-Mart? Instead of acquiring houses and hotels, players try to accumulate monorailstops and stations on their properties. Customized Chance and Community Chestcards offer additional sly references and cartoon drawings of the characters. The cultural references are up-to-the-minute, but the educational value ofplaying strategic board games remains constant. --Marcie Bovetz, mother andformer children's librarian ... Great, Great Fun!!!!!!
This is by far the coolest monopoly edition to date; and i've seen them all. The attention to detail is amazing. You won't regret this buy.

Great Monopoly Game!
This is the best Monopoly game I've encountered. The game design is awesome! There are also custom property cards, chance cards, and community chest cards. My brother loves this Monopoly game the best. And best of all, you can collect 4 more limited edition tokens as well! This is a great game and you should buy it!

It's okay, but ...
This game is okay, but you need to have watched an adult cartoon television show called The Simpsons from America to understand the nuances of this game. Other people tried to explain, but their enthusiasm was not infectious, sorry.

The Simpsons and Monopoly: Two Good Things
The Simpsons Monopoly is a great board game for the whole family. The characters you get are Homer, Bart in a car, Santa's Little Helper, Kang or Kodos(I can't tell them apart), the statue at Springfield, and a 3-eyed fish. Where is the fish from? You can own a lot of Simpsons locations such as Krustylu Studios, Burns Manor or the Kwik-E-Mart. They do leave out other major places in Springfield such as Lard Lad Donuts or Krusty Burger. Oh well. The rules are basically the same as regular Monopoly, except they call each house a Monorail Stop. Included inside the game is the offer to get 4 more characters, if you feel you don't have enough already. The guys(and girls) you get are Mr. Burns, Otto, Marge with Maggie and Lisa. But, WHY NOT KRUSTY?!?!?!? Krusty is more important than some 3-eyed fish in maybe one episode or Otto. Grandpa would have been cool, but it doesn't matter. The game is long, it's not one of those games you feel like you can win at in 10 minutes.

Educationally, the game does great, too. You have to give people an amount of money, so you're counting. But, education kind of lacks against durability and fun, plus to me education does not matter in a board game. Games aren't supposed to educate you. They are all about if they are fun and that the board doesn't fall apart within 15 minutes. If you look at the board closely, you can see lots of serious happenings such as a car crash or a robbery. The board is very detailed, you must have a little of math skills(when I was playing against my brother, he gave me an extra 10 bucks, but I didn't tell him) and it's fun.

The board doesn't break, the characters don't shatter, what else could you ask for? Sure, the location cards and money do rip, but that's life. The game isn't too big, so you can carry it around on road trips or something. You shouldn't play it in the car, or a surface that shakes a lot, because even a roll of the dice can move the houses(monorail stops) onto some other location. The game might be hard for young people, maybe 5 years or under, but their mom or dad can always count out the money for them. So, all in all, this is a great game based on a great TV show. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great time.

If you buy one piece of Simpsons merchandise - make it this!
Simpsons merchandise can sometimes be a bit disappointing (come on, you know I'm right), but this game is definitely one of the best out.

The best thing is that it doesn't look cheap or tacky - they really went to town with the artwork and details. Every single item in this game has been modified for the Simpsons theme, right down to the collectable pewter game pieces. The properties have been substitued for those in Sprinfield - Moe's Bar, The Android's Dungeon, The Sleep Ezy Motel and even Cletus' shack are up for grabs.

This is a really good quality game and is worth every cent. It is probabaly the best quality piece of Simpsons merchandise out at the moment. ... Read more

This colorful chess set combines the classic game of strategy and intellect with the wacky and wonderful characters that inhabit the world of the Simpsons. Packed in an attractive metal storage box, the set comes with a fold-up playing board and a complete set of playing pieces. The pieces are all durable, and can probably handle a lot of abuse and mistreatment without being damaged. As a result, fans of the show could also use the pieces as action figures or perch them on a desktop or bookshelf when they are not engaged in a battle of wills on the chessboard. With Homer and Marge Simpson as the king and queen respectively, the chess set also features Bart (bishop), Lisa (rook), and Maggie (pawn) Simpson, as well as Krusty the Clown (knight). --Chris Burns ... Great For A Psychologist
This is a great game, it helps do my customers iq's. And its simpsons chess, not an ordinary chess set.

The Simpson's play Chess?
This is an excellent gift idea for anybody! This chess set is definitely gets an A+ for fun! Even if you're not a Simpson's fan or haven't heard much about them, this set wonderfully symbolizes the intelligence of the family. Homer is crowned with a beer in his hand while Marge stands taller than the king himself with a rose close to her chest. There is Bart as the bishop, Lisa as the rook, Krusty as the knight, and Maggie portrayed as the pawn. I am surprised, however, that Flanders was not the Bishop. Afterall, he is the holiest of people, the most spiritual to spirits, and the most faithful of all God's faithless souls!
I was asked to rank this toy on an educational level and I gave it four stars. I did so because it is a game of chess. Simply, chess is an educational game that increases your sense of logic and reasoning. Although it is the Simpson's that we are talking about, the fact that if a person can play well with these peices without mixing them up with confusion, then I think you've accomplished something. Skill. As with any chess pieces that are represented by other characters or symbols, you obtain a good sense of awareness and strategy.
This toy is a very fun toy and I would reccommend it to anyone, ESPECIALLY if they enjoy watching the Simpson's. It is fun to play, fun to watch, and fun to display. Friends should definitely be impressed with this chess set!

The Best Chess Set Ever!!!
This ia a great chess set because it shows your love for The Simpsons and Chess. It is very derable and fun to with your friends and family. I have alot of fun playing with this chess set. This is a must have for Simpsons fans like me.

Looks great, but it's difficult to tell which piece is which
The pieces look great, and it is a lot of fun, but it does become difficult to tell which pieces are which when actually playing chess. Bart is the Bishop, but he is holding a sword and shield, which makes me want to think he is the Knight (Krusty the Klown is the Knight).
My board also came with 7 pawns on one side, and 3 Bishops (the other side had the usual 8 pawns and 2 Bishops), which is mildly annoying.
Other than that, the set is well made (the pieces are sturdy, the case is metal, and the board, although its only made of cardboard, comes printed with a background of various Simpsons' characters).
As watching The Simpsons and playing Chess are two of my favorite activities, this set was a "must have" for me. I don't play on it much, but I am glad I got it, as it looks cool!

This Simpson chess is "Cowabunga"
The first Simpson Chess set left a bit to be desired, although it wasn`t too bad. This one, by Cardinal Games, is far superior. My only complaint is that Bart, the bishop, isn`t taller. I know he is a child, but his base could have been at least one inch higher. Also, the painting on the bases of the Barts are a bit confusing, sometimes making you think that your Bart is the other side`s Bart. I fixed mine by gluing 3 regular checkers under the Barts and repainting the bases to lessen the confusion. While I was at it I added one checker under each of the Homers. Now I love the set! For those of you not too handy with glue and paint, don`t worry. It`s still a great set. ... Read more

Okay, it's not the most complex toy that's ever been attempted. They didn't re-invent the rules of the classic murder mystery game Clue, they simply reproduced it with characters, locations, and weapons from the world of The Simpsons. But that simplicity is what makes this set so much darn fun. In this version, Mr. Burns has been found dead. Marge is now Mrs. Peacock, Homer is Mr. Green, Krusty is Colonel Mustard, Bart is Professor Plum, Lisa takes the role of Miss Scarlet, and, perhaps most delightfully, Waylon Smithers, is Mrs. White. Weapons include a poison donut and a plutonium rod, while locales include the power plant and Krustylu Studios. If all these references confuse you, well, it's still a game of Clue and a great game to play. But if these references send you off into a gleeful reverie of repeated catch phrases and favorite episode memories, then you really need this game. --John Moe ... Read more

Great Game For Simpsons Lovers
I LOVE the Simpsons and therefore I LOVE this game. It's really fun for both adults and children. I've been playing Clue for years, and it was an interesting change playing Simpsons Clue. I'd recommend this game to anyone, especially those familiar with the cartoon.

Best. Clue. Ever.
Remember when Mr. Burns was shot and nearly killed? Well this time Mr. Burns was found dead and Chief Wiggum rounds up six suspects. The killer will not get away. You play the roll of one of the suspects and work your way on discovering, before the other players, who killed Mr. Burns, with what weapon and in what Location in Springfield.

The board game is beautiful. The deck of cards is awesome. The yellow dice are a nice touch. And the game pieces are very cool regardless of the version you have. (1st edition - pewter; 2nd edition colorful detailed plastic.

The Players are:
Homer Simpson as Mr. Green
Krusty the Clown as Colonel Mustard
Marge Simpson as Mrs. Peacock
Lisa Simpson as Miss Scarlet
Bart Simpson as Professor Plum
Waylon Smithers as Mrs. White

The Weapons are:
Poisoned Donut
Extend-O-Glove
Necklace
Slingshot
Plutonium Rod
Saxophone

The Locations Are:
Nuclear Power Plant
Springfield Retirement Castle
The Simpson House
The Frying Dutchman
The Andromeda's Dungeon
Burn's Manor
Krustylu Studios
Barney's Bowl-A-Rama
Kwik-E-Mart

This game is easy to learn, easy to play and very fun. I gave the game 5 stars in educational because even though it is very simple you really have to use your brain. So if you are not used to thinking, be warned, it will hurt. I love Clue and this version just begs to be played with.

As a game fan, a Simpson's fan and a collector I have to say if you haven't purchased this game do so. Only God knows how long this version will be available.

A Winner!
Great "Clue" game with a twist. The hilarious characters from "The Simpsons" are suspects to the murder of Mr.Burns(Mr.Body). Same like the orginal clue, but with different characters, like Bart as Professor Plum, Smithers as Mrs. White etc; There's different locations(a power plant,Kwik-E mart) and weapons(slingshot, poisoned donut). A fun game to play, and a great one to collect if your'e a "Simpsons" fan.

For the Simpson's Fan!
If you love the Simpson's, this is a great collectible to have. If you love Clue, this is quirky version to play. Either way, this is a winner. You have Lisa as Miss. Scarlett and Mr. Smithers as Mrs. White. You have rooms like the Frying Dutchman and Mr. Burns Mansion. You can choose weapons like Bart's slingshot or a plutonium rod from the nuclear factory. All in all, this makes for a fun family night.

A New Twist to a Classic Game
I've had this game for several years and although it doesn't get much play, due to the fact that you need at least three people to join in, it still holds all the same charm of the classic game of Clue. The most hilarious of all is Mr. Smithers as Mrs. White. The artwork alone on the game board should be enough for any Simpson's fan, however, I can assure you that this version will liven up a dull time with the family or in-laws. It amazes me that after all these years my sister still tries to cheat by looking at my notes. It also amazes me that she doesn't catch me glancing at hers.
The game is very simple and takes only seconds to refresh the rules for everyone. And if you've played the classic version of clue to death, items like "the poisoned donut" will be sure to crack you up and make the game new for you.
I would recommend this game to anyone who has played clue and or has a long visit with the family lined up. Leave the Monopoly in the closet it will only make everyone hate each other. This game, if played correctly (with minimal cheating), should bring you all together, or at least provide a good laugh. ... Read more

Yes, it is UNO, they are cards, what do you expect? They will last a while, but as they are only cardboard, not forever. A good game, though.

Shut Up Brain, or I'll Poke You with a Q-tip
As a fan of the Simpson's and Uno, this game was a great find. Compared to some of the other versions of Uno available, Star Trek for example, Simpson's Uno falls short. The cards feature all your favorite characters, but they only replicate the original game. The other versions offer unique twists not found with Simpson's Uno. Of course, the pictures of various Simpsons characters in place of traditional dots is the main draw for these dominoes, but our favorite thing is their impressive heft. Made of heavy-duty ceramic, the dominoes make a satisfying, authoritative clack when placed on a hard surface. The set is described on the box as "super-sized" but they're really only slightly larger than standard dominoes. There are a total of 28 pieces--the standard number for most domino games--and the correct number of doublets (dominoes with the same picture on each side). The thick tin box is also a nice bonus. It's like a slimmer version of those old metal lunchboxes, but imprinted with Simpsons art and witticisms. Unfortunately, the box seems to have not been designed specifically for the dominoes, which rattle around once they have been removed from the plastic bags that hold them in place initially. Still, the set is overall, as Mr. Burns would say, "Excellent!" --David Stoesz ... Read more

Fun twist on Dominoes
Playing dominoes with Simpson's characters instead of dots is a lot of fun. The pieces themselves are heavy ceramic, and feel quite durable. The pictures on the dominoes though are already starting to wear off in a few places, after a few months of use. I think this would be better kept as Simpsons memorbilia instead of a game to play. ... Read more

another winner from Playmates
Once again, Playmates has demonstrated their faithful dedication to converting 2-dimensional cartoon characters into 3-D toys that look exactly like their celluloid counterparts.

Chalmers comes with a customized coffee mug, a telephone (which fits nicely in his hand) and a clipboard with a checklist on Principal Skinner's failings. About the only thing in the "yes" column is the "US Flag in order," but poor Skinner gets checks in the "no" column, including in the row "riot quelled?"

Original voice for Chalmers is activated by putting him in the various Springfield environments.

SKINNER!
"Skinner with his crazy explanations,
Superintendant's gonna need his medication,
be-lieving Skinners lame exaggerations,
there'll be trouble in town to-night"

Super-Nintendo Chalmers rocks. He always comes out with the best put-downs for Skinner and is the perfect foil for him. My fave scenes is when he going to give Springfield Elementary a full 10/10 for the first time.

"I'll just put the ZERO first." He says. "And now a vertical line to indicate the 1..."

Needless to say a riot tramples before he gets to.

The toy itself is quite fun. So far it is my first in the World of Springfield figures. Place him in certain playsets and he'll talk. The accessories that come with him are a clipboard (with a bad ratings checklist on it), a phone and a personalized mug. They all fit in his hands and he is pose-able. Not only this but he is quite sturdy. The Movie Maniac series of toys tend to break easily but there is not way this guy will.

Have fun, with Chalmers and the rest. ... Read more

A decade's worth of outrageous story lines, and funny, intelligent writing has garnered a loyal following for The Simpsons--and no character on the show has been more popular than the TV family's patriarch, Homer J. Simpson. But after watching those hundreds of episodes and spending millions of brain cells remembering all that trivia, what are Simpsons fans to do with their extra time? To the rescue comes this Homer-specific trivia game packed in a handy tin case. The questions are divided into five difficulty levels, though even the easy questions presuppose a deep knowledge of Simpson lore. Players will soon discover that in the game's multiple choice questions, the funniest answer is always correct. The directions for actual gameplay can get a bit confusing, and, though the setup allows people of various levels of expertise to play together, this won't be much fun for non-Simpsons fans. Hardcore fans will have a blast just reading the well-researched questions. The collectable tin case, shaped like Homer's head, is eye-catching on a bookcase or shelf, and an included miniposter featuring some 300 characters makes for an attractive wall hanging, too. ... Most Esoteric Trivia Game EV-ER....
My mom bought this for me knowing that I am a Simpsons fan and have been for 15 years. However, the questions are completely obscure and there is no "game" to this game. It is a game only the most extreme Simpsons aficionado could understand, let alone enjoy. If you think you know anything about the Simpsons, don't buy this. You'll just get a little angry about your lack of knowledge as only the "Comic Book Guy" could have any success at this "game".

WARNING-ONLY FOR MAJOR SIMPSONS FAN
This game is fun, will make you laugh, and is a perfect gift....If you LOVE the Simpsons. My family and i have watched the Simpsons since it started in 1989 and even before that as animated shorts on the Tracy Almon Show and despite all the knowledge we had of it we still were not able to make the grade. I would only recommend this if you have most of the episodes almost memorized.

Too confusing to even bother with
The game is way too confusing to follow, which takes away all the fun of playing a trivia game. A big fat raspberry for this one...sorry.

Irreverent Game based on fun and chance, not strategy
"Loser Takes All" has all the irreverent feel of the TV show. The rules are too loose to make the game all that challanging for the very competetive and the game's strategy (lose all your money/tokens/character cards) seem like it was designed by Bart and Homer during a commercial. This is primarily a game of chance and luck and one's fortunes (the losing or gaining of the cash/tokens /cards) can change quickly many times during the game. The questions fall into two categories: dares (For $5000 would I wear the same outfit for 100 days in a row?) and personal trivia (How many teeth have I had pulled?).

I recommend this game for families, for those who want a less competetive game and like looking at Simpsons characters, and as a modified drinking game at parties.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not a good game, low on Simpsons content
I got this game as a Christmas gift, from friends who know how I enjoy the show. In true Simpsons self deprecating style, the box has a generic Krusty "I heartily endorse this game" cartoon, as well as a "don't be brainwashed by corporate propaganda" warning from Lisa. Unfortunately this game could have come right out of a Krusty catalogue: it's a generic product with a Simpsons gloss.

The game has little to do with the Simpsons. OK, the game pieces are Simpsons characters, and the toy money has Homer's head in place of George Washington. But the association with the show is superficial.

The aim of the game is to lose all your money and junk food tokens. You do this by taking turns with a spinner and wandering around the board trying to land on squares that will unload your food or money onto another player.

Sometimes you get to take questions, in this part of the game you read a question from a card and write down an answer. You then nominate another player to guess the answer. Some questions are goofy, like "What is the opposite of hamburger?". Others are personal, like "Do I ask for directions when I'm lost?" or "have I ever worked on a farm?". The questions mostly take an irreverant tone ("Would I ever try to make one of the Queen's guards laugh?"), but there is nothing offensive. There's not too much American-only content, most the questions aren't specific to the US, and some that are, such as "Do I know how a bill is passed through Congress?" (yes, actually) can easily be altered to fit any nationality.

By answering questions correctly, players get to turn over one of their five character cards (if they guess wrong the questioned player turns over his card). When a player gets all five, the game ends and the player with the least assets wins.

In playing the game, I found the lack of rules (you can start anywhere on the board and move pretty much anywhere) to be a minus point. As in society, anarchy equals less freedom, not more. The game lacks direction and people have too many choices -- more like chess than a fast family game.

After a while we ditched the game and just read questions off the cards. Due to the lack of rules, shy players can easily avoid the question squares (though they might get questions from the spinner) so the game itself falls down as a "getting to know you" tool too.

Overall I was quite disappointed. I was looking forward to a game for Simpsons enthusiasts. Instead, I found a game where knowledge of the show is of no benefit at all. You don't even learn anything about the Simpsons, really.

And if I may, I'd like to take issue with the idea that Homer is a loser. OK, he's a bit of a loser, but he has provided for his family for more than ten years, and resisted the advances of both Beverly D'Angelo and Michelle Pfeiffer. How many men can say that?

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for many ages
I bought this on a whim for my husband, and we have played it with several different groups since then. My nephews (12, 7 and 3) played it with us (the three year old on someone else's team) and enjoyed it a lot. We've also played with other adults and had a great time. While the spaces are funnier if you are familiar with the show, you don't need to know anything about it to play.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this game!!
This is the worst game ever! I definately felt like I was in the episode where Krusty is selling anything and everything with his name on it just to make money. First of all, this game has nothing to do with the simpsons, and the rules aren't really that clear. At one point in the directions it states that you may just wanna make up your own rules...I tried to play the game with my boyfriend and his roommate. We played for about 10 minutes, then the gameboard and all the pieces were thrown onto the floor and i just read them the questions from the cards (which dont have anything to do with the simpsons) while we watched The Tick. The questions are like "What is my favorite bean?" and "Have I ever been to Europe?". [It's terrible]. Do not buy this game. ... Read more
