Pac-Man: Still the best character on this side of the planet. Galaga: The best damn shoot-'em-up game in the known universe. Pole Position: Um, Hello? Where's the prepare to qualify voice sounder? Bosconian: Sinistar on a killing spree (Just without the Sinistar) And it features great voicing and classy music. Rally-X: Great game, but the music is somewhat stuck in your head and it's a two-note wonder. New Rally-X: better music, better gameplay Toypop: Very quirky music and very weird animation. Now on the rest, the room to the game's music is a new rendition that gives birth to the phrase: "remix." Plus, the game rooms are eye-popping and the museum space is rendering and excellent! I love this game!!!
However, this disc does not support the analog joystick controllers, which makes it a lot more difficult to play some of the games, such as Pole Position. Because of the way the games load, it is very slow to go from one game to another one. The games on the disc: Galaga, Pac Man, Pole Position, Bosconian, Rally-X, New Rally-X, and Toy Pop. Overall, this disc is what you would expect if you remember the originals. It provides some entertainment, but most of these games just seem too simplistic and boring when compared to present-day video games.

Editorial Review By far, the best feature of the game is the variety of boxers--20 in all--representing a range of personalities and abilities. Afro Thunder, for example, is a trash-talking, Chris Rock-sounding fighter with a repertoire of ring speed, quick jabs, and over-the-top hooks, while Butcher Brown is a heavy-handed thug built like a dump truck. There's something for everyone, with many nationalities, genders, and fighting styles represented. Since each fighter has different speed, reach, and moves, there is a pleasant amount of depth to the game. Ready 2 Rumble offers two different game modes: Arcade and Championship. Arcade mode is for one or two players, and is simply a series of boxing matches. The single-player option pits you against a computer-controlled opponent, while the two-player format lets you and a buddy hammer it out. Championship mode puts you in charge of your own boxing gym. You start the game with three rookie fighters, facing off in second-rate gyms, and it's your job to train them in hopes of reaching the championship bout. Championship mode also lets you access Ready 2 Rumble's most innovative feature: the ability to pit your prized fighters against boxers from a friend's gym through the Visual Memory Unit. Just save your stable of boxers onto the VMU and then use it in a buddy's Dreamcast, where you can fight an exhibition match against one of his or her boxers, or arrange a trade. The VMU also lets you save your progress. Without it, all your boxers (and all the secret characters you've managed to unlock) are erased when you turn off the console. But then again, if you've got Ready 2 Rumble, it's unlikely that you'll turn off the console anytime soon. --Mike Fehlauer Pros: Reviews (32)
Gameplay Graphics Sound Ready 2 Rumble also has Championship mode which is fun. Overall The game is pretty entertaining...It's my favorite Boxing game for the Sega Dreamcast. Get this game if you have a sega Dreamcast....It's just pure fun! Later...
The game has two modes, an Arcade mode and a Championship mode. The Arcade mode is fun when played against another "human" opponent. The 2 player game will give the user more opportunities to taunt, set up for a combo, and go all out. Most people enjoy this type of fighting, infact everyone should. The Championship mode is for the die-hard player who likes to win, win, win. Going into championship mode requires a memory cartridge, and most importantly patience. The road to gold is a long, frustrating, and often dull experience. It is true when you work your way up to Gold status, strategies have to be used. The user finds out more about fighting the computer, really it's just like real boxing(jab, cut the ring off, win by decision). While few have the patience to test their skills against the computer, the die-hard player never really gets that much better especially against a "human" opponent who fights a whole lot different from the computer. The game has various characters, with interesting backgrounds. We have a retired 21 year old cab driver going up against the Devil himself. Each fighter have different attributes, and using them to their right potential is key. Maybe the only bad thing about the game is the music(endless). But Ready 2 Rumble wins by TKO over any other boxing games.

Amazon.com Product Description Gamers must try to control Donald's temperamental mood swings--when hit by obstacles and opponents, he explodes with frustration, and destroys everything in his path; if hit again, he passes out! There are plenty of power-ups; a happy Donald becomes hyperactive, and discovers new levels and activities. Reviews (6)
After reading the other reviews of this product, I was hesitant to buy the game because I thought it was going to be too easy. But it wasn't. It was quite challenging and loads of fun. The game has 4 stages with 4 levels and 2 additional tracks at each stage. The graphics are outstanding. The goal is clear. It even has a good soundtrack. Furthermore, there is barely any violence- Donald punches a few bad guys, but that's it. My wife, my 6-year-old, my 3-year-old and I would pass the controller as we'd take turns playing the game. Since the difficulty increases as you progess, my youngest would play in the first stage and win our team extra "Donalds," my 6-year-old would play on the medium and harder levels, and my wife and I would play on all levels. This is a wonderful game that can be played and shared by the whole family. Before I bought a Nintendo, I thought computer games could never match the family fun of board games and card games, but Goin' Quakers has proved me wrong. Well-done Disney!

There are seemingly 2 camps in console golf games: the "fun" camp (Hot Shots Golf, Mario Golf) that emphasizes a certain playability over any serious sim aspects, and the "realism" camp (EA's Tiger Woods, Fox Sports) which attempts to display the game as it is actually played. I enjoy both styles, but the cartoonish qualities of the former can wear thin whereas the latter is always a good choice to fall back on time and again. Your choice may vary, but realize that this definitely falls into the "realism" camp and this may turn out to be slightly "dry" for the youngsters amongst you, or those that prefer a lot of theatrics in their golf gaming. Why is this installment the preferred edition? Well, for starters it is easily the most gorgeous looking of the three, putting 99 to utter shame graphically, and even upping the ante on the fairly adequate graphics of 2000. The sounds are kept to a quiet minimum (except, for some reason, in the long term PGA Tour mode) which helps set the proper tone. The putting meter has thankfully returned to what most fans of EA Sports' PGA series know & love: the straight line meter. No more circular guesswork, this is just like old times (PGA Tour III on Genesis being my favorite of the 16-bit era.) Also improved from previous versions is the putting. The draw/fade feature that made putting such a foul nightmare in earlier editions now returns to the standard distance shot, thought the quirky "quake-cam" effect is still used to determine putting green hills/valleys. But without the hook/slice factor, this becomes much easier to digest. And I will mention that the ridiculous "Tiger Power" ability (allowing you to alter the direction of the shot mid-flight, as if by telepathy) is thankfully turned off by default. The game, on the whole, as a result of these intelligent game mechanics changes has seemingly become easier and more user-friendly. Though still a proper challenge will certainly await you. This time around there are 6 courses (up 1 from 2000's 5) along with 8 tour pros (up 3 from 2000's 5.) The animation and sayings are much the same as the previous version, but there was never much wrong with that aspect, so it is forgiveable. There do seem to be a few less options this time around (they seem to have canned the shootout mode and 4-ball competitions) but they are not missed amidst the lush graphics and control enhancements that make this one a joy to play. It is certainly the pinnacle of "realistic" golf games, and is likely to remain so, as EA will be releasing Tiger Woods 2002 on PS2 only. Prior to purchasing this title, I had read many poor reviews of this game which had me worried. Yet after spending many hours out on the PS1 links with this title, I am truly dumbfounded as to what is so truly evil about it. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2001 outdoes not only its previous incarnations, but also outshines all but the best of the "fun" category. The only game I would recommend over this would be Hot Shots Golf 2. A very fun, very accessible, very pretty golf game that deserves to be played & appreciated. Console gaming old-timers from the Genesis PGA era will be right at home.

I didn't give it a one star because younger kids may like this game. Like i had mentioned before, it's not all that challenging. Although it might be for younger audiences.
The game is somewhat like tetris, but instead of fitting pieces together in a row, you must match the same color of blocks, and erase them by using special blocks called "detoblocks" The best part of the game is a mode called : "puzzle mode." In puzzle mode, one gets a fixed amount of turns to eliminate ALL blocks. Overall, this is an addictive game with better graphics than most puzzlers. My one and only complaint is that one must use a password save; it is very annoying (especially in this game) because every level (which I may add are very short)has a new password. ... Read more | |

Put the memory card in one of the slots, then start your ps with the lid open or no cd in. The memory card will cycle through it's spaces. Once this is done a one will appear to the right. Now open the memory card explorer. Once you're in there Press and hold "Start" now press "L1" & "R1" at the same time. You'll see a small "." appear next to the number. Let go of "L1" & "R1". Now press "L1" or "R1" to cycle through the available spaces. Once you're on the space you want press "Start". Now load your game. Each time you shut off the playstation the memory card should start on the space you selected and you won't need to select a different one until the space is full. FINAL NOTES: make sure if you're using a Game Shart or Code Breaker, that you have enough blocks to store the codes and save your game on the same space. also when you try to cycle throught he bolcks the first time, the card may start doing a weird blinking and then cycle through all of the blocks slowly. No big deal, let it do it's thing and then follow the steps above once more. if you need further help email me mlewis@1boredprogrammer.com
Does anybody know WHEN you're supposed to press start, L1, and R1? Is it at the loading screen, the browser, when the game's already loaded...?

Editorial Review Play takes place in full-screen or scroll modes. Scroll mode poses more of a challenge as you can see only one corner of the board at all times, which can make it hard to avoid ghosts. It may not be as advanced as many other titles for the NEOGEO, but nothing beats the addictive arcade action of Pac-Man. If you are looking for a game to just pick up and play, snatch up this title. It's still as much fun as when you first played it at the arcade all those years ago. --Carrie Bell Pros: Features Reviews (11)
