My four-year-old son can play this game, fairly well on beginner, and actually not come in last place (which keeps it exciting for him). But in the same manner, I have some excellent competition for me when it's set to pro (I don't give up easily, but the computer is pretty fair considering). Overall, I was very pleased and satisfied with the game's performance. The reduced price also helped a lot with the decision to buy this versus a newer and more expensive game.

Editorial Review The real crowd pleaser here is Knockout Kings 2000's career mode. Choosing from a wide varietyof options, you get to create your own custom boxer, who can fight his way to the top in career mode orparticipate in exhibition and slugfest matches. Before career fights, customized boxers can be improved bytraining, or playing various mini-games. (A memory card is required to save custom boxer data.) What robs Knockout Kings 2000 of the championship belt is its unbalanced 3-D graphics. Theboxers look great and move fluidly, but everything else appears flat and unfinished. Thankfully, fast gamespeed and responsive controls clamp down on the sightseeing, which is one sure-fire way to end up KO'd.--Joe Hon Pros: Reviews (15)
Wow! I don't know what to say. I guess I can sum up by thanking all the reviewers out there. So that's enough of the mushy stuff! I mean! Let's get real here! huh? When am I gonna get some real competition? Come on! don't get silent now! just buy this game and have fun.
Many of the players lose their skill when going into their careers, and the computer predetermines who will win the next fight. You could be beating the snot out of your opponent, while you give up little health, but he come's right back and KO's you, and the computer won't let you back up. That's the major problem with this game. Other than that, I have no beef against it.

Editorial Review All the tracks from the F1 circuit are here, rendered to perfection, asare all the racing teams. Pre-race options are just astounding with allthe standard car setup features, such as differing tires, gear ratios, and suspensions. There is also a telemetry check screen that examinesthe performance of racers' cars, allowing for optimal changes. Once players start racing, they may find that cars don't respond asthey should, and controlling these beasts can take quite a bit ofpractice. That means casual players will be spending more time in thegrass then they may consider fun. For F1 fans, though,F1 2000 really has it all. --Robb Guido Pros: Features Reviews (6)
On the other hand, the damage model is frighteningly bad. Run you car into a wall at 170 miles per hour, and you get a message which says, "You're wing is bent! Come in and we'll fix it." I also got annoyed at the fact that even playing on the expert level, this game is hard to lose. Also, almost every time I am running second, the leader blows up in front of me, even with failures turned off! One other nit to pick: They boast that "Now you can play the 2000 season at the beginning, instead of waiting until the season is over". Only problem is, we don't know how prone to failure a given car is or how well a driver is going to perform until the season IS over. Final complaint: I went to EASports' website to complain about this, but couldn't find a feedback line or e-mail spot anywhere. On the whole, I am fairly disappointed with this "greatest racing sim of the year"
Firstly the commentary favoured by other F1 games has been dropped in favour of Pit commentary. By this I mean your pit radioing you all the latest race info, such as approximate leading times, pit windows and the ever important identity of who is in pursuit of your position. The game engine also seemse more touched up, with the need for getting close the racing line to win, rather than simply going where you please and still winning by a long way! All this is wrapped up with a great soundtrack provided by Brit rockers Placebo. Great idea! This is the new F1 racer for the new millenium. Get this game and fasten your seatbelt, you are in for a speedy ride! ... Read more | |

Being a huge fan of Tetris, I was pretty interested in picking up this title. With all the good reviews it received I figured it would be a sure hit. Actually, it isn't. From the poor graphics (very Nintendo-ish), to the irritating robotic voice-over (sound effects do NOT show off Dreamcast abilities), I soon found myself bored with building walls to hold in water. The weak graphics and sound might not be too bad if the interface was better (it is a puzzle game after all), but placing your walls in the position you want as they descend from the top of the screen is near impossible. The controls really are that bad. Try moving one slot over and you will usually end up moving way too far or moving the wrong way. And trust me, it's not poor hand-eye coordination on my part. My suggestion, you better rent this one before you buy or you may be kicking yourself for wasting your $$. I know I am. If you don't like it after playing a few times, most likely you aren't going to, and then, of course, it'll be too late.

Editorial Review The clean graphics show some extremely well-detailed players, stadiums, fans, and even coaches. While the player animationsaren't quite smooth as glass (there are quite a few speed-ups andslowdowns), the players do move in a fairly realistic manner. When yousee the instant replay of your favorite power forward delivering amassive dunk, you'll cheer. To complement the visuals, Sega has addedplay-by-play and color commentary to document the on-screen action. While this does get a little repetitive, this feature ultimately addsto the atmosphere of realism. NBA 2K shows some trouble with controls. This is most apparentin handling loose balls. You'll cringe as you occasionally watch longpasses sail out of the court, resulting in mindless turnovers. This isespecially painful to watch when the Dreamcast can't complete passesto computer-controlled players. These stupid turnovers can, will, anddo affect a game's final score--and have even caused a few games to berestarted in disgust. On the positive side, NBA 2K contains anew finesse-based method of hitting foul shots that requires that yousqueeze the control triggers in near perfect synch. The create-a-player and coaching options make it relatively easy tolead your team from postseason TV watchers to championship ringowners. While the 2000 season's prettiest basketball game offers more thanjust the most delicious eye candy, there is still a lingering feelingthat NBA 2K could've been much better with alittle more fine-tuning. At the very least, while NBA 2K is recommended, it isanticipated that the successor NBA 2K1 will offer even morebackboard-breaking fun. --Mark Brooks Pros: Reviews (171)

There aren't any lakes, instead, you fish in five different areas, unlocking additional lures as you progress. The gameplay is quite simplistic. All you really have to do is choose the best lure for a particular area and cast. The 3D graphics are fairly realistic and sound is reasonable good too. Action Bass is a good arcade-style fishing but for players that really enjoy simulation-style fishing games with boats and vast areas to explore, then this may not be the right game for you.

Editorial Review Tomorrow Never Dies uses an auto target mode, but it's far too restrictive to be of use here, requiring players to stand still in order to keep the target locked. The game loyally follows the film, butwhen the action intensifies--such as a hot pursuit on skis, or flying a nuclear warhead-laden jet out of a hotzone--players are forced to either relinquish control entirely or have minimal input. Gadgets from Bond's old pal Q are too sparsely used, and the absence of any multiplayer mode seals thisgame's fate as a small diversion rather than a stellar accomplishment. --Jeff Young Pros: Features Reviews (108)
This is what I liked about the game: first, 007 talked, and I thought the voice-overs were pretty good. The music was excellent, and it was Bond, so that gave me a little more enthusiasm to keep playing. But without a multi-player, I found that this game got to my shelf real quick, and never really made it back into my Playstation. After deciding to give this game another try, I noticed one thing fatal to a shooting game. My gun wouldn't fire! I'd try to shoot the stupid enemies, and the gun seemed to be jammed. I eventually found this to be true with every weapon in the entire game. I returned it for a new copy, and the same thing happened! Eventually they allowed me to purchase another title, which made me glad, because this game was basically a disaster. If you're looking for something to match up to Goldeneye, get Medal of Honor or its sequal, Medal of Honor: Underground. It has great weapons, it's a 1st person shooter, and it plays a lot more like a Bond game than this piece of junk...EA: stick to sports games.

Editorial Review The game designers paid particular attention to recreating rugged trackand bike conditions that muddy up (literally) an otherwise clean racingexperience. For example, your bike must avoid puddles that haven'tquite dried up. Expect to get dirty; during our test of this game, wefound it to be nearly impossible to avoid getting our virtual bikescaked with mud. Two players can face off in a single race or, if you prefer, you canrace for a whole season to accumulate titles and cash prizes for bikeupgrades. If you conquer the realistic tracks contained in the game, you can design 20 monster tracks with the track editor. This featureallows you to create your own hairpin turns, giant jumps, and deeppits. --Carrie Bell Pros: Cons: Features Reviews (11)

Editorial Review Making effective use of the Game Boy Color's graphics and sounds, THQ has done an admirablejob of capturing the sensationalistic feel of the WWF, right down to the wrestlers' grandiose stageentrances. Unfortunately, WWF Wrestlemania 2000 is marred by poor gameplay--thecontrols aren't very responsive, and mindless button-mashing gets you farther than it should.--Joe Hon Pros: Reviews (16)
In story mode it basically is an Austin vs McMahon thing. YOu are basically on your way to win the WWF title and in the process you ahve Vince McMahon getting in the way putting you against variouse characters and handicap matches, gauntlets and so on. It doesn't matter who you choose the story is always the same except the champ is whoever was their greatest rival (Austin vs Rock, Mandkind vs Big Show, Undertaker vs Kane) and so on. In the end after you win the title you are placed in a gauntlet for the title and in the end you face Vince. So with two buttons how do you do your finisher, when the bar towards the center under your life bar is full, push select. Overall this is an ok rent, and only for the msot dedicated WWF Fan. Stick with Fire Pro Wrestling.

Editorial Review Still, this game looks so darn cool, you can't resist playing it. The requisite tricks fromsnowboarding games are here, but this time they actually add important power-ups toyour repertoire, favoring function over, dare we say, style. To save yourself thefrustration of trying to consistently win races, you should enjoy this game by watchingthe screen while other more nimble or less leisure-time-deficient friends play. --JeffYoung Pros: Reviews (30)
The racing portions have an unnervingly unbalanced learning curve as well. I personally found the initial tracks to be very hard at first, but once I got the hang of the first couple, the rest tended to simply be an issue of seeing the track a couple times and then winning. The final track in the game put a crimp in this style, as it's suspended in the air, so falling off the edge is easy, and actually making it far enough along to see the later bits is a challenge in and of itself. For me, the only aspects of replayability in this game involved simply going around the practice arena doing tricks. Trickstyle suffers from what seems to be a difficulty in deciding whether it's a racing game or a boarding tricks game. While it initially seems geared towards the racing, the tricks aspect is fairly developed, and the racing portions just don't offer much past the initial challenge of actually winning the race. At the same time, there's little in the way of actual tricks competition in the game, making it almost a proof of concept of the tricks engine than anything approaching a releasable game. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun game, and finding your own challenges to do within the practice arena can be interesting for a while (trying to get maximum amount of points in a single jump, jumping over the high crossbeams of the hub of the arena), but while both aspects of the game show promise, the combination of two underdeveloped games really leaves the user unsatisfied in the end.
PLAY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!!!!
Secret Codes makes it easier The graphics are great and you get to do a lot of outrageous moves.
