It just dosn't work
When i play with my game boy advance it's usually in the dark so i need a worm light. The adaptor dosn't let enough elactricity through so the sound is horrible and i can only play in the sun. I also think that it somehow burned out my worm light(also made by mad catz) because the light is almost burned out. the power light is also on the brinct of loosing it because the adaptor only gives off enought power to let the game boy surive. My light is green and red at the same time. In others words,
DON'T BUY IT!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Could use some improvement
The power flow wasn't very fluent. My GameBoy Advance kept restarting itself, something it never did before. Also, whenever I plugged it in to my GBA, the sound had a lot of static. I suggest getting the Nintendo AC Adapter - it works much better. Other than that, it was fine for casual use.

5-0 out of 5 stars "L" shaped plug...!
I love this adapter for my GBC because it has an L shaped plug that plugs in the bottom of your player.. The others are all straight and if you lay in bed and rest it on your tummy.. the straight ones hurt you and really get in the way... The L shape plug is comfortable and never a problem... :o)

5-0 out of 5 stars Unlimited Power
Ever noticed that your Game Boy color just runs right through your batteries? Well if you get this charger Your GBC will never be out of power and it's so cheap. I reccomend you get this right now.

5-0 out of 5 stars battery saver!!!!!!
this can save the batteries you put in your gameboy by easily plugging it in to the side of you game boy and then plugging it into the wall. Great price for it here anyways so just buy it trust me you totaly need this item it saves you money on batteries!!!!!!BUY IT NOW please! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A really dumb game
I bought this game, played it, And didn't play it again. What you do is you control this little guy,and you Jump around the screen and collect items and stuff. You can also Make boxes out of thin air by pressing a button,or you can make them dissappear with the same button. Each level has a key you must collect to open the door to the next level. The are also little Monsters that you can kill by using the box appear thing on them. You can also collect 4 peices of pottery to contain a certain monster that will give you a special ability. It may sound good, but youhave to play it to belive me. If your planning on buying it,don't,Unless your a REALLY big Monster Rancher fan! Even if you are,you might not like it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Chalenging but Fun
Mario style character puzzel game. Quite interesting involing Monsters to help beat oppenents and get you to the key and out of the level. Very fun Multiplayer levels that you create. You should borrow it from a friend or rent it. Don't buy it.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's a little bit Lode Runner, and a little bit Pitfall.
The game is very similar in design to another classic game, Lode Runner -- in Monster Rancher Explorer, you're a tomb explorer who can drop and destroy crates with a simple wave of your hand. it has Dozens of puzzles, Battery save, and Link cable support for two players ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sorry Marvel VS Capcom players...
All six topside buttons (ABC XYZ) are indeed programmable. Virtually any combination of cross-pad presses and ABXY can be programmed into these six buttons without a lot of hassle.

But be warned-- the six buttons are smaller and closer together than the four on the standard Dreamcast controller, and are not color-coded.

In addition, the LR triggers cannot be programmed nor can LR trigger presses be programmed into a button! 6-button Street Fighter-type game players will still have to reach for those triggers if they need to use all six punches and kicks (though C and Z -can- be programmed to hit two of ABXY together, which can be useful).

4-0 out of 5 stars Not all that bad.
After reading a lot of mixed press on the Quantum Fighter Pad, I decided to pick one up and see for myself. Although I've used better controllers, I don't feel the Quantum Fighter Pad deserves all the bad press and insults it gets. I had three main problems with it: Yes, the shoulder buttons do press up and in instead of the trigger-like configuration of the standard Dreamcast controller, which is somewhat unnatural. Also, due to the layout of the buttons it's easier to press X and B at once, but almost impossible to do Y and A, meaning fans of Soul Calibur and similar fighting games might need to make use of those programmable keys to avoid losing use of that Y/A throw. The programming buttons are kind of, well... sharp. They're annoying to activate and take some getting used to to program. Despite all this, the Quantum is still a decent pad. I didn't notice any lag in response time, it's comfortable to hold and use, more "natural" with the cord coming out the top, and contrary to other reviews I've read, the buttons seem secure. In many places you can get this gamepad for less than the official Dreamcast pad, so if you're a casual gamer just looking for another option or maybe a 2nd/3rd/4th controller for Power Stone 2, this is a good choice.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not bad
It was cheap at the time when I got it. I liked it cause it was another controller for me. I do like how you can program your moves when you play games. Oh, and the directional pad does work very well, and is recommened for the game Shen Mue. Although it's good like this there is still a problem. My controller ended up having the analog stick lose grip of the turn base thingy. So now my analog stick spins around continuously.

1-0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Must NOT Buy
The whole point of a six button controller like the Quantum Fighter pad is to give players of Capcom fighting games which use a six button layout 6 buttons, instead of 4 buttons with 2 triggers or shoulder buttons. The problem with shoulder buttons is the action of pressing them with your index finger forces your thumb to pull away from the D-pad, making special moves very hard to pull off.

Well, the 2 extra buttons on the Quantum pad, instead of performing the action of the shoulder buttons, perform the action of the A and X buttons, which acomplishes absolutely nothing. Furthermore, the shoulder buttons on the Quantum are big, and take a long time to push, hindering your timing on special moves even more. I'm returning mine immediately.

If you want a 6 button pad, go with a Madcatz or an Ascii!

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Hacking!
The reason I bought this controller is so I can hack it into a Joystick with arcade parts I bought...Why not use the regular dreamcast controllers, you ask? Because the LR buttons are analog and it's hard, if not impossible, to locate a soldering point.

For whatever reason, I think it's security, that Sega made their controllers with their L R buttons weird, using a magnet to complete the circuit. Although you can't use the LR buttons (or the analog directional pad), I've heard that if you remove it, the dreamcast is smart enough to know that and won't operate. This is something I have to confirm.

With this controller, it comes with six digital buttons that I could use to solder my arcade buttons to. ... Read more

Editorial Review

What type of football fan are you? The casual kind? Or the one who really gets into it, wearing face paint, leading the tailgate party, outfitted head-to-toe in NFL garb? For all its efforts at "simulation realism," Gameday 2000 is still a tattered mix of arcade style gameplay dressed up with pseudo-simulation options. Although the series has improved every year, it still caters to the casual football fan who couldn't care less about the subtle differences between double slants and low post patterns.

That's not to say Gameday doesn't have its inherent charms. Despite the dreaded on-field "juke" option, the gameplay is fast and entertaining. With the addition of the general manager mode, which allows for multiple seasons and all sorts of player/personnel movement, the game is much deeper than last year's version. However, Gameday 2000 strives to find that Zen-like balance between fun arcade style gameplay and in-depth simulation à la Madden, but comes up just a tad short. --Sajed Ahmed

Pros:

  • Fast-paced football action
  • Import players from NCAA Gamebreakers 2000
  • Easy to pick up and play for all levels of gamers
  • Outstanding animation and on-field visuals
Cons:
  • Computer Artificial Intelligence (AI) lacks realism
  • Too many money plays on offense
  • Commentary not particularly varied

3-0 out of 5 stars Good game with bad commentary and penalty calling
The only thing that kept this game from getting four stars is the commentary. The commentary is always late, wrong, boring, dumb, repetitive, pointless, and tests your nerves. Once you get past that though, the game is excellent. What I like about this game is that it's good and easy, unlike Madden 2000, which is FAR too hard, because of limited juking. The games are also very high scoring, because it's easy to score, but hard to keep the defense from scoring, which can become frustrating. But I have to go on the flip side, to the penalties. First, your opponent never gets a single penalty while players on your own team are called offsides when they're not, and if you hit the quarterback one-tenth of a second after he releases the ball, it's called roughing the quarterback, even if you're in mid-dive when he throws it. Also, when the other team knows the quarterback is going to have the ball tipped, the other team rushes in, and catches the ball. Cheap. Would have been perfect if not for these flaws.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!
Lots of additional reinfinement makes this a great game, maybe the best. The graphics have received quite a bit of boost, and really look great. The gameplay is strong and exciting, just like it has been since NFL Gameday 1996. I love this game, and it really deserves a spot in every gamer's collection.

4-0 out of 5 stars On the whole, a pretty good game.
The graphics are good on this game. Commentary is quite bad, but music when you score a touchdown is good. The A.I. is a bit bad, one time I kept running a run play to the right side about five times straight and the opposition never tried to fix that problem. Although if it didn't the game would be pretty hard. 989 definitely scores with this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is great!!
All I can say is that this is probally one of the better football games for Playstation. If you have it on Pro or Veteran it is a very entertaing game. The graphics are about as good as a football game can be on a PSX, so that is a plus. The only thing is the amount of space it takes to save a season. The current season I'm playing is using two memory cards, that is way too much space.

1-0 out of 5 stars Pass
I actually got a copy of this game while doing some game-testing at Acclaim. (The game was another horrible supercross game, by the way.) Both my and my 2 friends who went with me sold the game after a matter of days. It's absolutely horrible! There's no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Now, I'm not a supercross enthusiast, but I do appreciate good games. This is not a good game. If you must try it, rent it, don't waste your money.

1-0 out of 5 stars Far off the mark
This game is really bad. The tracks look nothing like the real life tracks, if it didn't tell you what track you choose you would never know. All the jumps are either to far or to short making the timing difficult. The graphics are terrible even for the playstation and the rider physics are the worst I've ever seen in any motocross game, then you have to turn the bike without crashing which is a big problem. Hey when was the last time you wen't 80mph on your 125 on a supercross track, that's right, you havn't, but in this unrealistic game you can. this is the worst motocross game on the market, and I've played them all, the only half way good think is the track editor which is still weak. Take my advise and buy Supercross Circut instead. You won't be let down.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's better than the 98 version.
It's ok...I like games that allow users to create their own tracks. The graphics could be a little better. I still like Ricky Carmichael Championship Motocross better. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars This is better than the playstation brand.
This works better. People who say it dont work are crazy! I started out with a official playstation brand memory card. I saved a game on it and quit. The next day i went to play the game and what happend? It wasnt there! Nothing was there! All my data was gone! I threw it away and got a mad catz memory card. Havent had a problem with it ever. Its better and come with a lable and case!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Bad Quality
Bought this memory card new thinking a memory card is a memory card, as long as it hold your data who cares about if it's a Sony or not. But when I got the card, the case was falling apart already. So I decided to remove the screws and open the plastic case and have a look inside.

To my amazement, the quality of the card was so bad, one of the plastic screw posts (holding the case together) was already broken, so only one side the the case was holding the top and buttom together. The connector was not gold plated (The Sony memory cards are), this will cause the connector to wear out very quickly. When you insert this card into Playstation, it did not snap into place like the Sony card did, so this card could become loss after extended play.

All these problem might cause your games not to be saved properly or erased by accident. Spend [a little extra] and get the Sony one.

5-0 out of 5 stars Does what it should -- what else can you say?
It's a memory card, and the price is right. What else can you ask for? It works perfectly with my PS2, and enables me to save PS1 games. (shame on Sony for not enabling the PS2 memory card to do both!)

4-0 out of 5 stars Decent battery pack
The good:
- the battery pack lasts more than 15 hours, due to the 4 built-in rechargable batteries that are inside
- comes with an AC power adapter for unlimited play time

The bad:
- bulky design that draws away from the GBA's sleek looks, and adds much more weight than batteries alone
- the charging station should have a simple light indicator that tells you if the battery is being properly charged or not
- the connections are not 100% sturdy; as you move the battery pack slightly due to normal play, the power indicator keeps flashing red due to losing contact with the power supply, but this will rarely turn the unit completely off (unless the pack completely falls off)

Overall, this is a good battery pack as it provides all the battery power you'll ever need to play, and you'll (eventually) get used to the bulky feel. However, small quality details have been overlooked, such as not having fully sturdy contacts, and the lack of a simple light on the charger to ensure you the unit is being charged. Although I have not been as unfortunate as (...) (others) mentioning that the battery pack has completely fallen off, the lack of sturdy contacts can make this a very possible scenario. If you can overlook these imperfections, this is probably the best battery pack solution for the GBA until a unit arrives that fits perfectly in the battery compartment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Need batteries? Save them for the road.
I think this is one the most useful accessories for the Game Boy Advance. Whenever you need batteries, you either A)Buy them yourself or B)Ask your parents to buy you some. But what if you can cut down on the amount of batteries you use? This is where the Powerpack EX comes in. Like me, I use this while at home, not worrying about running out of batteries because once I'm done playing...its on to the charger. Then when its time to hit the road, you can take your 2 AA batteries or/and take this with you. You can't go wrong. It makes the GBA a little heavier than usual, but its really worth it in the long run.

4-0 out of 5 stars MMMMMM more power
It works great and it never dies. I have not charged in a week and I have been playing Advanced wars alot. Also has a nice charging bay. Buy this. It saves money over batteries.

1-0 out of 5 stars You shouldnt even be looking at this product
I bought this adapter along with the purchase of some games, hoping to save the cost of batteries over time. It was a big mistake, this adapter hasnt worked from day one. I am truly disappointed in the brand and will be sure never to buy anything from this company again.

4-0 out of 5 stars B+
I would give it a B+ because it lasts for a long time. The batty lasts about 15 hours. Its really good and i have never had troble with it. But the cradle does no work to well and sometimes your GBA falls out of it. Its great for big time gamers. What i don't like about it is disables the GBA to fit in to your pocket.

4-0 out of 5 stars Army Men Sarge's Hero's 2
I found this game exeptionaly good, though the graphics could stand improvement. The gameplay is good, but I found it hassle to enter the longer password. Overall, I give it four stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Army Men 4EVER
Go Sarge! This is one of the coolest games from the coolest series ever! Graphics, sound and gameplay are top notch while play control is a little bad it is still great! Great job 3do this game is the best action game on the game boy color!

The Best
Sarges Heroes 2 was the best game I have ever had for my Game-Boy Color. The graphics are even 3-D or at least they look so much like it that you think they really are. The game play is great. The enemys start off very easy but then get progressively harder as you move through the 30 some odd levels. You don't actually get to play as Sarge but you never see the character come out of their special vehicle so it doesn't really matter. The only really bad part about the whole thing is that the vehicles move so slow that sometimes it takes 20 minutes just to complete one level. All in all Sarges Heroes 2 really deserves it's 5 out of 5.

4-0 out of 5 stars Very Cool Game-But.
Lets start with the pros. You get to drive in tanks, motorcycles, boats and more. You also get to pick who you want to be. The conns are that you dont get to walk in the game. The graphics also need improvement, but it's still a good game. It's a 4 star game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not pleased
This game is hard to control, very slow moving and very DARK. I tried putting in new batteries, standing in lots of lighting and even using a worm light, and it's still very hard to see anything. I would not recommend this game. ... Read more

Well,In my opinion this is better than the tony hawk's sreies. The shaters in tony hawk are so tiny! But in this game, they are a good size, not to small, not to big!But after about 3 weeks i was so tired of it because whenever you win a medal or somthing,it doesn't unlock a new skatepark or skater(except for 2 skaters that you can get without winning anything). So it makes it the same thing over and over again! And there are only 8 skaters to choose from.So i beat the game in 1 week.It was fun while it lasted.

1-0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE game
...There is hardly any skaters and it is hard to do the moves...

1-0 out of 5 stars horrible
It's not worth the $$$ the graphics r horable
only 8 sk8ers i would give it a 0 if i could
it is probably the worst game ever

DON"T BUY THIS GAME

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Game
ESPN X Games Skateboarding is one of the coolest games out there. It has awesome graphics and many cool levels. You can freeskate and make your moves better. On the other hand you caould be playing in the X-Games. In the X-Games when you end your run you get skill points. When you get more skills points you are able to do more tricks. My favorite part is X-Rage. You do the same moves but get more points. You will be first all the time. This is a great game. I like this game and I know you will to.

1-0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this game!!!!
Do not buy this game! If I could give this a 0 star rating, I would. It's not worth the $$$ I payed for it and it's not anywhere close to the quality of Tony Hawke 2 for GBA. When I did buy this game, I played it for about 5 minutes and quickly realiized that it's a terrible game. This is because it plays kind of linear. The screen goes back and forth and not up or down and in street mode it is a rough transition from one ramp to another. This in its self takes too long. So, don't buy this game at all. Buy Tony Hawke 2 and Tony Hawke 3, when it comes out on GBA in March 2002. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars So suprised!!!
I was very suprised that I liked this game. I am a beginning gamer. However, I am a bit older than the average gamer. I reviewed some editorials on this game and decided to purchase it. The game was worth EVERY PENNY. You are addicted to the little mini-game challenges that it offers. It is mostly like a board game and there are many challenges that you meet along the way. It is fun being able to play against the game, which can be a bit of a challenge from time to time. I also loved the colors and the graphics. So, if you are looking for a game that will give you hours of fun. Pick this one!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!!
This game has good graphics and is very vivid and colorful. It is packed full of fun!! It has many mini games to play that can keep you occupied for quite a while. It is as addictive as Tetris or any other puzzle game! It also has the main game which is a lot of fun too. It is somewhat challenging but not too hard for younger kids. I definently recommend this game! Would be really fun linked as a multi-player game.

2-0 out of 5 stars No fun
I purchased this game for my 11 yr. old son. I think he was bored with it. He played it once and traded it for something else.

4-0 out of 5 stars Sweet!!!!
This game is very educational, but if you prefer arcade games M&Ms Blast has them. Check out this game, in stores now.

4-0 out of 5 stars Cool Game!
OK, so maybe y'all think that this is just a joke of a game, but it's not! This game is very addicting. I play it when I don't want to get frustrated while playing a GBA game. So many are hard to play and get so frustrating that you either slam it down, yell and scream, switch it off, or don't play with it for a while. This is a game board type game with an awesome twist. There are games in it that can give you extra bonus points. And the best thing is is that it saves itself automatically! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Extremely fun, but very simple to beat
Knockout Kings is an extrememly fun game for about an hour. That's how long it took me to beat. In career mode, you can choose a name for your fighter, design your fighter, and choose his class (heavy-weight, light-weight). The first time you play this game, it's a bit challenging, but after a couple of fights it gets easier and easier. The part I hate most about this game is that all you have to do to win the fight is press 'B'. Oddly, I stil find this game very fun to play because of it's great graphics and up close and in the action fighting. I would recommend this as a first Gameboy Color game to kids 6-9 that aren't very aware on how to play a Gameboy. However, if you are an experienced gamer, Knockout Kings is definitely not for you.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun, but quickly beaten.
I greatly enjoyed this game when I first bought it. The trouble is that it is easy to beat, and quickly gets boring. If you don't mind playing the same thing over and over, this is a great game. Otherwise, I would recommend renting, not buying this game.

5-0 out of 5 stars the next level of boxing games is here
this game is definitely great...i am the greatest fighter in the history of this game, bring anyone on, bring it on, so start practicing and email me and lets fight........001

4-0 out of 5 stars Slugfesterific
This game is one of the best Game Boy Color games ever. My favorite part is that you can kind of create your own player. It's very fun using all of your special moves too. I suggest this game to anyone even if you don't know anything about boxing. I didn't and now I'm a huge fan. The only thing is with a couple hours of spare time it's pretty easy to beat. But its not frusterating not boring. It's just all around fun. So get it and have a slugfesterific time.

5-0 out of 5 stars KNOCKOUT KINGS 2000

Amazon.com Review

In The Grinch, you play as the Grinch--naturally. You must runall about Whoville, and steal Christmas away from the happy Whovillians. Each ofthe 30 levels of the game is structured like a maze. As the Grinch, you mustnegotiate the mazes, while staying out of the line of sight of any human being. If you steal everything in a maze without being seen at all, you win a bonus.

To succeed, you must employ a number of attacks. Grinch attacks include throwingrotten eggs, and scooping and throwing snowballs. Also, you'll learn to beat ahasty retreat if you're discovered (the Whoville folk chase you only until theyrun out of breath).

The simple GBC graphics bring back memories of older systems, but it's easy alsoto see the similarities between The Grinch and other games. Because itinvolves so much stealth, fans of Metal Gear Solid will draw similarparallels. The Grinch's near top-down view also will draw parallels withMGS's inset map screen. Being similar to MGS is no drawback; thisis a fun, solid game. --Todd Mowatt

Pros:

  • Uses colors, sprites, and power of Game Boy Color very well
  • You can play part of game as Grinch's sidekick, Max the dog
Cons:
  • A few more levels would have been nice to have

5-0 out of 5 stars if you like Metal Gear Solid you will like this
this is another stealth game by Konami but with The Grinch instead of Solid Snake, it plays just like the Gameboy Color Metal Gear Solid game, you sneak around trying to steal presents, get crazy gadgets and so on, this type of game is perfect on the handheld because you can play it in short spurts

1-0 out of 5 stars Didn't get item
Purchased Item and didn't receive, were not polite in return e-mails. Daughter still hasn't received her Christmas present from Video Plus

4-0 out of 5 stars on the ball
You gotta get this game ia am 11 and on level 5-3 i cant beat it, oh well! The only thing that annoys me is that you have to remember the passwords they give you or you will never get past it!

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute game!
I bought this game for my 5 year old daughter and she loves it! I woulda given it 5 stars, but I have the problem of not getting past level 3 myself and it makes me addicted. WAAAAHHHHH!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Game, Funny and Creative

4-0 out of 5 stars Its not that bad.....
Okey,I own this game, and Some of the reviews say this game is very bad. I disagree because of everything in the game. I can only see ONE thing bad about this game, the tracks are too narrow, making it hard to pass. I think you shout definatly buy this game.

2-0 out of 5 stars Worst graphics ever, lots of circuits, easy play control
To start with, the graphics for the CARS are excellent and it will blow you away even when you are picking one of the eleven cars to drive, like a police car, a 70s bus, a beetle, a Rolls Royce and a taxi cab. You can chose auto or manual transmission, then you play the game, and the graphics and the sounds for the course are so terrible its like playing Atari, the graphics are blocky and the game itself moves slow! Also unlike the other Cruisin' games where you go straight along a course, these are circular tracks (you do four laps) in places like Las Vegas, Mars and Ireland. In each of those cities are several racetracks that you can progress along. The options are the normal options, no difficulty options, but there is a "car damage" option, which adds realism to the game. The bottom line is terrible graphics, probably the worst for Gameboy Advance or the old Gameboy, simple play control, lots of short circuits. Avoid this game and get one of the two other great racing games from Nintendo, F-Zero and Mario Kart Circuit!

1-0 out of 5 stars LAME LAME LAME
Hi people, I just played this game. Beleive me... it's REALLY bad. You won't get the cruisin' feel. They chose to use a DOOM engine on a racing game and although the idea sounds GREAT, it didn't turn out to be as I had hoped for. Every time you bump against the walls (which by the way, the game is 95% square tunnels) the car slows down almost entirely making the cruisin' fade. It should be called "Parkin'velocity" since I didnt feel any velocity throughout the 5 mins it took away from me until I got frustrated with how bad it was. I undestand that a handheld has limitations in racing games, but GT ADVANCE and HOT WHEELS ARE AWESOME and those are made for the same GBA so... I won't take that excuse.
Another downside is that the cars DON'T have any animation at all, meaning, that when they turn, there are only about 4 prerendered images of the car rotating which makes the experience even more boring. GT ADVANCE and HOT WHEELS (GT BETTER OF COURSE) have great animation and great and speedy graphics, whilst this one lacks them all.
AVOID THIS GAME... Trust me =)

1-0 out of 5 stars Little value
While the graphics isn't bad, the gameplay is rather lacking, with controlling the cars almost impossible. For a better racing game check out "GT Advance Championship Racing".

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool Game
I do not own this game but it looks like its going to be one of the best racing games for GBA!! ... Read more
