Plays with constantly
We bought this for our son when he was around 20 months old. He's now over 2 and has played with it constantly - which is saying a lot since it's about the only toy that this has happened with (and we've bought a bunch since he's an only). It's durable too, he's a big guy and has stood on it a couple of times (though he's not supposed to!) and dropped it and it's held up just great. I definitely recommend this toy.

Another Great Little Peoples Toy
I bought this for my 1yr old. She loves cars and was so excited. It took a good 15 mins to put together. Heres a tip. Put the stickers on before you assemble anything! Great toy and durability. My 25lb daughter actually sits on it, and plays that way. We have tried to teach her to sit next to it but she wont. LOL. I hope theres more cars out there to buy. It only comes with two. Takes up alot of space but worth it!

Absolutely Fabulous!
My husband and I purchased this for my 3 year old nephew last Christmas, and he cannot play with this enough! It's just big enough for him to have hours of playtime, but small enough for his little hands to hold and move around! A must have for any boy around this age!

Can't go wrong with Little People
My 19 month old son loves all thing Little People. This is one of the trickier Little People sets I've had to put together, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow. As with all of their products, this one takes a beating and keeps on going. There have been many nights I've gone downstairs in the dark and accidently stepped on this toy, without so much as it bending even a bit!
Well worth the money for durability and play time spent with it.

Many uses
My 2-yr old son loves this one. I almost didn't recognize it from the photo online because they show it folded up, and ours never is!
He plays with the cars and the people on the garage set, but he also has tons of fun with them other places, too (on the floor, in his room, on the deck, in the car, etc.). He takes the little people to his table to have them involved in conversations, or to have them play hockey. It comes with many accessories that can be played with separately (4 little people and 4 cars/trucks). ... Read more

misunderstood toy; great when you follow the directions
It is funny to see one parent saying that her 1 year old's feet can't touch the "petals" (smirk) when the intended age is 18 months and up. Another funny thing is to see how many parents say the "parental" handle doesn't lock in place--I got news for you it does!! All you have to do is put the yellow pin which locks the handle in place in "rocker" mode behind the handle when it is in "parent" mode. Our two year old loves this and enjoys rocking, riding, and pushing the parent handle. He hasn't quite caught on using the pedals because his feet get in the way but hey, that's what two year olds do. :) I see this as a long term learning toy to help our son transition to a bike later on. It was a very smart purchase. Lots of stores have them to try out--go decide for yourself.

great toy
i just bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it. wherever we go this toy has to come. It has a place for little ones who are not quite big enough to ride on there own to put there feet up while mommy pushes them around, and while we are at home she loves the rocker. This is a great toy.

Great for Grandma's House as they will get years of use
We have three of these as each of my boys received one for their first birthday and I think they are great. The only problem is I wish they were all at the same house - two are by their Grandparents 3000 miles away while my three fight over the one we have at home. Makes we want to go buy one or two more. My six year old still loves to ride it even though he has moved onto a big boy bike because he can really zoom around the corners without getting nervous. The little foot rest doesn't do much but not a huge problem. Found that it worked best in the rocking mode when off the carpet. The handle is great as not only am I able to push them but they push each other. It really manuvers well. My almost 2 year old tries to pedal it but is not quite big enough so he just zooms around with foot power. All in all a great toy that after 5 years of constant use shows no signs of "decay" - how many toys can you say that about?

Fun fo Less the Price
I wanted to buy my daugther a more expensive Trike, but my husband I could not see paying over 80 dollars for a Trike she would outgrow. So we bought this trike and boy I'm glad we did. Our daughter likes the fact there is a foot rest since she is too young to petal and we love the stearing rod even though it is some times tough to use....but I'm still getting use to it. We also like the fact if we have another child it can turn into a rocker. Plus it is very durable. We have rolled it in grass, concrete, sand, etc... and the wheels are in like new condition along with all the other parts. Very Happy with this product!

WONDERFUL FIRST TRIKE!!!
We never used this as a rocker, my son, now almost 2 got this last Xmas, and LOVES it! Only downfall, my son zooms around the carport on it, and it tips frequently, so just be close to catch if it falls~ A great first trike~ ... Read more

The Pixter is like a personal digital assistant (PDA) for kids. But instead of storing boring appointments and phone numbers, they get to draw, do puzzles, and learn a little, too. The Pixter is about the size of a small book, and has a pretty solid weight to it. It's made out of brightly colored and durable plastic. The main action of this toy is drawing with an attached stylus. The Color Pixter offers much better graphics then the black and white version, which comes in handy with activities like Paint-by-Numbers and Connect-the-Dots. You can draw a picture free form, or you can use one of the starter backgrounds. There are tool buttons, like on a PDA, that give you access to fun stamps, special effects, and the eraser button. You can also save your creation in the Pixter's memory. There are some boppy tunes playing along with all this creative activity, but luckily for parents, there's also a jack for headphones and a volume adjuster. An expansion slot on top of the Pixter accepts ROM-based expansion cards that contain additional software and games. Requires 4 "AA" batteries. (Not included.) --Megan Sullivan ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Kids really love this toy
My daughter was 3 1/2 when she first played with her 10 year old sister's B&W Pixter, and she loved it. So I got her the color Pixter, and she plays with it every day, especially in the car. There are educational games available for it, as well as entertainment games. It also plays all the older black and white games for the older versions of Pixter.

Disappointed
We bought this for our 4 year old because he's not quite old enough for Game Boy. We have already had to return it twice due to it malfunctioning within a short period of time. The first one, the stylus didn't work and the second one the stylus worked on only half the screen after a couple of weeks. For as much money as we spent, I had great expectations. The kids, 4-9 years, enjoyed it while it worked, it just didn't hold up very long. I'd spend my money else where.

Take Care
My kids love this toy!! But do be careful because it is needs to be well taken care of. I would not reccommend this to any child who just throws things down where they may.

worth every penny
My 4 year old is one of those kids who can't play with anything for more than 5 minutes, except the Pixter. It is the best toy I've ever bought for her, and we've tried everything (thanks to used toys and bargains...). I bought her the Pixter recently because I was pregnant and too tired to keep her busy. It is well designed, challenging but not frustrating, is adaptable to her growth and needs, etc.

Pixter Easily Broken
I got my daughter the Pixter Color. Her little sister dropped it on my oak floor a few hours after we opened up the box. Now only half the screen works. I know it was dropped, but kids drop stuff. There must be a way to make these things more breakage-resistant. Spending 80 dollars on a toy that worked just one afternoon is bad enough. Listening to my daughter sob all evening was worse. ... Babies will get a real physical and mental workout with this play gym. It's pretty much like all of the other models out there, but its stand-out is its versatility and diversity of features for infants at all stages. A kicking gym for infants is made of attractive objects than spin, light up, and make sounds with each tiny foot-fall. A Ferris wheel loaded with colorful balls spins overhead to create additional interest. Babies who can sit up can spin the Ferris wheel themselves, and watch it release the five balls down a tunneled ramp and out the side of the gym. This in turn sets off music and lights as the balls zip past noisy, spinning obstacles. It's not just fun and games, though: the activities are designed to develop motor skills, cognitive learning, and stimulation of the senses.Diane Beall ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good toy!
I just bought this toy 3 days ago. It wasn't very hard to assemble! I had no problem, and I'm a women. LOL! And once it was up, I put my 3 month old daughter under it. And she loved it, she started to kick her legs and arms everywhere. She can't reach the toys, but she has figured that she can kick those toys with her feet and get them moving too. THis toy I bought works great, no problems what so ever. Yes the music is annoying, and the toy does go back when she kicks, but I push it right back towards her. I don't leave her alone, and I don't leave her there for a long time either. 5 to 10 min. the most. This toy isn't a replacement for me. I bought it to stimulate her for a little while. So she can see something new. I'm sure once she's able to sit up, she'll enjoy this toy even more. Just try it!

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but not great
I just bought this toy for my 3 1/2 month old and she does like it. She will play on it for as long as I would expect of a 3 month old. SHe loves kicking the hanging toys. I do not like the first setting-the one you are supposed to use when kicking. The music goes on and on and on...and I don't think it allows the baby to understand that its his or her thats setting it off. I keep it on the second setting, where the music goes off for maybe 10-15 seconds. Its less annoying and she has more fun with it. She gets really excited when there is no music/lights and kicks more in order to get it to play.<br /> I do recommend this toy, especially if your baby is a kicker! But I understadn the complaints about the music. Just use the second setting and it works great

4-0 out of 5 stars We Like It!
My 7 year old bought this for his new sister (2 1/2) months old) My newborn loves it and my older son loves to play along side. It's colorful lights and fun music keep them both entertained. Most newborns attention spans are short and they get tired of almost ANYTHING after about 20-30 minutes. This is a great first toy for baby, especially if you put them in a bouncer in front of it so that they can kick start by hitting the lower toys with their feet!

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Buy!!
I have a two month old son and he loves this toy. He will lay down and watch it for close to 30 minutes! At first he wasn't very interested, but I think that is because he couldn't see very well as is true for all newborns. The music is different, but we have gotten used to it and our son seems to like it. It is bright and colorful which I am sure makes it fun to look at. I am thankful we got this as a gift!

4-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good toy
I bought this looking for a toy that would keep my son's attention. He's 1 month old and this toy works like a charm. Its easy for him to kick start it. The lights and music make his eyes light up. Basically, he loves it. It keeps him busy while he's awake and bored, which is his most difficult time.

Negative - On/Off switch is the middle setting, I can never turn it off on the first try. Usually attempted one-handed with baby in other hand.

Negative - Alot of screws to screw in.

Other than those, I recommend this toy. ... Read more

The airport is a fascinating place to young children and it''s not hard to understand why: all those enormous airplanes, people coming and going, suitcases, and luggage carousels. It''s all pretty amazing. So kids are likely to love this fun airport set from Fisher-Price''s Little People collection. It sports an orange plane, helicopter, taxicab, windsock, control tower, radar dish, restaurant area, binocular stand, and more fun airport features. It''s compatible with all other Little People sets (and, frankly, it puts the ever-expanding Little People city on the map as a major metropolis). This would make a terrific present for any kid who has an actual airline trip ahead of them. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

My Son Loves This Toy
My son has several little people toys, but this is his favorite and ours! I bought it used and it still works great! The helicopter is his favorite because it lights up and the rotor blades move! I also like it because it only has two big pieces to the airport itself which makes it easier to carry around.

Another wonderful "Little People" item!
My children have been playing with Little People for years. My youngest son got the airport for his birthday. He loves all the sounds the vehicles make when they are rolled or turned! The people are chunky for his little fingers. All the sounds are wonderful. The only complaint is that the runway is not connected to the rest of the track. Overall I would recommend this to anyone with a toddler. My older children love playing with him as well!

Great Toy!
We bought this toy for my son's 2nd birthday. He loves it! He uses the "road" for all his vehicles and trains. It is a great pretend-play toy. Very durable. Great quality.

A little help
I bought this toy for my 2 boys (both under 5 yrs) & they like it. I on the otherhand can not take the airport & car parking apart like I can with the city set. I am a disappointed in this. I even called Fisher Price & they didn't know how to take it apart. I recently went to Toys'R'Us & saw the same toy but with the Discovery video. I didn't get the video with the one I bought which is sad because both of my kids are into planes now.

Some Confusion??
From reading the prior reviews, I think there is some confusion surrounding exactly what this toy is and isn't. First off, it IS a Toys R us exclusive. It does NOT, however, have flashing runway lights or make sounds activated by the vehicles. I think the cause of confusion is that this new TRU version looks EXACTLY like the old Discovery Airport, but is not battery operated. I was not at all disappointed when I received this, though. From what I've read about Discovery Airport, parents constantly complained that the sounds never worked properly. (Perhaps the reason it was discontinued???) And Discovery Airport was very expensive; it was priced as high as [$$$] in the Fisher Price store! This new airport is certainly a less costly alternative. My only issue with the toy is that if it includes pilots for the planes, why not a driver for the taxi? ... Read more

Parents looking to encourage a love of athletics in their children without breaking the bank buying up an infinite variety of sports gear, may wish to consider this versatile set branded by the folks at ESPN, who know a thing or two about sports. Its a collapsible freestanding kit that offers six sports in all. Basketball is rendered in the model of the classic pop-a-shot game, keeping score as you shoot baskets. In football, youre the quarterback throwing a ball through a small hoop, the same hoop used to test your pitching accuracy in the baseball mode. The action moves to the floor for the other sports as you kick at a small target with a soccer ball, slap a puck at a small target in hockey, and putt into a cup for golf. All necessary gear is included for each sport and an electronic scoring system and the canned voice of ESPN announcer Stuart Scott add to the fun. Some sports in this set work better than others, basketball being a little more fun than hockey, but the sheer versatility of this set make it a good option and means it will be hard for anyone to run out of challenges. --Charlie Williams ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Pretend for that Little Prince or Princess!!!!
My now 2 1/2 year old received this for Christmas, but we never opened it b/c she received the "infamous" Dora Talking Dollhouse! She "discovered" this in the basement and started to get really worked up for her Castle and Princess!! She is now really into princess make believe, so we opened it up!!! She got the Maiden Mary, Sir Lance a Little, and Watchful Woodsmen sets as well.SHE LOVES IT!!!! She loves to push the flag and make the trumpet sound and lower the drawbridge. I think her 8 year old sister, and 6 year old brother love it just as much as she does.As usual, Fisher Price Little People are just great! She loves all her little people, but this is fast becoming her favorite!!!It is the quality and durability that one comes to expect with the Little People name!! A great investment for years to come!! I wouldn't hesitate to purchase any little people items, they have staying power, and are timeless!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars i love it
Am going to give the castle to my son on his bday and i know that he'll love it,i can't wait to give it to him.He just loves everything of little people there so cute and educational as well also i like the fact it's for boys and girls.i play with my son alot since i just go to school on and he actually knows all the names.I like that little people is great for kids to play and learn every mom go buy some little people books to their so cute and educational too oh and the tapes or dvds.

5-0 out of 5 stars All hail the king.
My three-year-old son loves his castle. He received it for his 2nd birthday and still plays with it almost every day.It is a nice alternative to the Little People House playset that is very gender specific. It allows the same role-play (with the table, bed, etc.) without the stigma of being a "girlie" toy.I wish fisher price would make the house gender neutral. The pink and purple colors tend to turn away parents of boys. The sounds of this castle are fun.The trumpets play when the flag is pushed as if announcing the royal couple's arrival.A fun toy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for any child
I have 3 children....all girls. Twins that just turned 2 and a 10 month old. This is a really fun set for either boys or girls. I love the Little People playsets because all three can play and I don't have to worry too much about tiny pieces for the youngest to swallow like in others. But the castle theme is just neat because it lets them become more creative. Most of the other LP sets they have they often imitate what they see in real life. In this one they love the "dragon" and "knight" and get into some really intreasting conversations with each other. I keep it in their bedroom and they play with it every day. A great investment! I also love how well these LP playsets hold up. Very sturdy and durable.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another great Little People selection!
I am always so excited when new Little People collections come out.I swear I think I like them more than my kids! This is the first one we bought for my almost 2 year old. It's really a great toy, not too girlie, and not too boyish. He's a little bit young to get everything out of it, but each day he learns more and more about imaginative play. His older brother is almost 5 and STILL plays with every Little People toy we've ever purchased. He especially likes the little dragons in this one and the accessory set we got.I love the horse and the balcony.
Any toy that keeps my child's interest for as long as these do is tops in my book.Only complaint about this one - the stickers ripped off very easily.First time they didn't last at least a week!
I recommend this and ALL Little People toys for any child 1 1/2 to at least 5. ... Read more

This pretend kitchen is a wonderful toy to keep toddlers occupied while you're trying to cook dinner. And, for those who are short on kitchen space, this kitchen playset sets up into a full-size kid's kitchen and then folds flat to store in a closet when playtime is done. The play kitchen features an oven and refrigerator that really open and a two-burner stove with dials that make cooking sound effects, such as sizzling or bubbling, when turned. The set comes with 18 different accessories, including a phone, a covered pot, a pan, two plates, two glasses, two forks, two spoons, a spatula, a serving spoon, a salt shaker, and several fake food items--a fried egg, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. At first glance, assembly looks daunting, but well-diagramed instructions make setup fairly easy. This playset requires three AA batteries to power the sound effects. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Great Imagination for toddlers
My 2 year old toddler love this kitchen. It really does keep her busy when I'm busy in the kitchen. It gives her recognition of things around the kitchen. It is very cute and fun!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT .....
I LOVE IT AND SO DOES MY DAUGHTER WHO JUST TURNED TWO YESTERDAY (SHE RECIEVED IT FOR HER BIRTHDAY. THE ONLY THING WRONG IS THE OVEN DOOR HAS A PROBLEM STAYING CLOSED. I DID NOTICE THE SAMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE FLOOR MODEL AT TOYSRUS, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE FLOOR MODEL. I WAS WRONG. HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO REINFORCE OVEN DOOR LATCH WITH SCOTCH TAPE. OVERALL ITS A REALLY GREAT TOY FOR ANY LITTLE GIRL AGES 1 1/2 UP TO 3 YEARS OF AGE. HOUR AND HOURS OF FUN!!!

Happy Happy Mom
I wasn't sure if this kitchen was the right one to get for my 18 mo. old daughter, after reading the reviews, but I am so glad that we did! When we got it home, the screws were missing and so was the phone. I called ToysRUS and they simply gave me the missing parts, no problems! Like other families, our oven door falls open sometimes but not to the point where it is bother some. My daughter plays with it so much that it is usually open anyway. It was great that we didn't need to purchase any other dishes or food since it came with all that we need for right now. I even find myself enjoying the time that I spend playing with the kitchen! This really is a must have for any little girl who loves to pretend and have tons of fun!

it costs less because it doesn't work!
I bought this kitchen on impulse the day before my 2 yr old's b-day party. Big mistake. If I had only read the reviews first. Everyone is correct, the OVEN DOOR DOES NOT STAY CLOSED! My daughter was frustrated because she kept stepping on it each time she tried to get close enough to play. We finally taped it closed. The sounds worked for a minute and then we never heard them again...needless to say, this really irritated her too. WE RETURNED IT AND TRADED IT UP FOR A BETTER KITCHEN! This set may cost less than the others, but you are getting what you pay for--a cheap item that falls apart and doesn't work properly! Did anyone at Fisher Price test this thing?

Great except for oven door
Like several other reviewers, I cannot get the oven door to stay shut. But the kids don't mind. They haven't stopped playing with it, and now I have some quiet time to sit online and shop for staples for their new kitchen. ... Read more

The starting point for this Fisher-Price train-track set for toddlers is a mountaintop chalet surrounded by lush, green pine trees. Tugging a crate of goods, the blue loader-engine train departs the chalet, winds down the track, kept securely on by a yellow guard rail, and whizzes through an underground tunnel. It's a relatively one-dimensional toy, though the layout can be rearranged to connect to other GeoTrax sets. --Andy Boynton ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Pretty good deal but could be more exciting
I bought these blocks for my daughter when she was 9 months old and she really only enjoys them now. She is 14 months now and is starting to recognize some of the objects inside when I ask her to get them. But be warned bc they're not great for the real younger babies since there are only a few of them that really do anything like beep or rattle. Most of them just have a stationary object that may jiggle a bit. The ones that you can twist yourself are not child-friendly. She can't turn the knob at all so she gets frustrated. My 3 yr old can just do it. He likes them too bc they incorporate the alphabet. Another thing is that the printed letters block some of the objects so it's harder to see inside. I would more so recommend a diff set for a younger baby (6 mos)- like the sound sensations and these for an older child (1 yr). Although you can't beat the price for 26 of these blocks! I also just recently got the Roll-A-Rounds by fisher price as a gift. It's the same concept but a ball vs block. She likes them ALOT!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great value.
This set incorporates a lot of the favorites from other sets packaged in an A to Z learning format.I have been leary of purchasing too many of these blocks for storage reasons so the zippered case is a great bonus.Definitely worth every penny. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Worth It!!!
This is the best thing besides the bouncer that my daughter loves. My daughter can spend an hour or more underneath it!She "trys" to talk to the bird when it hasn't moved in awhile!(She's almost 3months old but loved it since Day 1. Soon she'll be able to explore all the stuff on the mat when she gets more tummy time! I totally recommend this item!!!!!!

4-0 out of 5 stars Well worth it!
Love this playmat... the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it lacks a "kicking option".To take care of that problem I bought the wind chimes in the playmat area and they hook to this gym and my baby can kick at those. He loves to watch the bird and it is pleasant to listen to.

5-0 out of 5 stars fantastic toy for baby
My daughter loves this toy. The bird at the top flutters on when the baby kicks the bars. The music and chirping sounds are both quite nice. The toys that come with it to hang from the bars are very nice too. I like that the toy hangers are kind of horseshoe-shaped, so that if baby pulls hard enough the toy will come off the bars and she can play with it. We've taken a couple of them and put them on the carseat.

My 3 y.o. old plays roughly with it, and so far it has held up!

5-0 out of 5 stars great play mat
we just recently purchased this for our 6 week old son, and he ABSOLUTELY loves it, he just stares and stares and if i set him on his boppy underneath it, he can kick at the toys. it is GREAT

5-0 out of 5 stars Great entertainment for even young ones!
We started putting our son on this mat to play at 5 weeks old. He absolutely loves it. He stares at the bird as it moves and likes to look at the toys hanging down. He coos, smiles and kicks while watching everything go on. Before we got this, he would only stare at the ceiling fans in our house, so this was a welcome distraction. We can't wait to watch him become more active and able to actually play with the toys hanging down. We also use the mat to make sure he gets plenty of "tummy time." ...

Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Has entertained my child for 3 years!
We first bought our pixter in 2001 while taking our 4 year old on a three week trip to Europe. It entertained her the ENTIRE time. We even had people coming up to us to take pictures of her playing it because she was so quiet for such a young child! Of course, the next year, we upgraded to the 2.0 version (giving her old one to her cousin). She still plays with it constantly. We have a large variety of software (which I buy on sale every so often) that she keeps attached to the carrying case (I do recommend, it keeps everything in one place and is handy to carry everywhere) in a small mess bag I had. She plays it with or without the sound depending on where we are. I asked her if she wanted a gameboy or a pixter 2.0 in color for Christmas and she immediately said Pixter! It's much more imaginative and allows her to be creative. It also is great for us to play games while trying to pass time like when we are waiting at a doctor's office. We can draw, play tic-tac-toe, bingo, etc... and she doesn't make a fuss. She loves it so much, that she shows every kid she sees how it works and lets them play. It does wear the more she plays, but what doesn't? Her current one has lasted for over two years with almost daily use. All ours have lasted through tons of train, plane and automobile rides, many of them over 10 hours in length. I would definitely buy it for the 3-7 year range. I'm sure the older children may not get as much entertainment out of it as they would other systems. We'll be buying her the color version for Christmas this year!

Pixter-Color
Great toy better that the monochrome version. However, it lacks durability. My 5 year old son got one as a christmas present in 03'. We have had to exchanged it 3 times in 8 months. The primary problem been accuracy of the touch pad. Even after recaliburation the accuracy slightly improves if at all. There is no place for light as in the previous version. My son loves it when it works but gets very frustrated when it doesn't.

Broken on the second day....
We used to own the pixter but it quit working after just a few months (I was disappointed but assumed that it was just my child's overuse/rough handling) so we thought we would upgrade to the color pixter as they had since been released. We should have learned from our mistakes about the durability of this product. My daughter had it out of the box for not even 24 hours, it slipped out of her hands onto the floor, and the screen cracked and the product no longer works. This drop was only 12 inches to the floor. This is quite an expensive toy to not be able to withstand more. My children own gameboys and have dropped them numerous times and even left them in the car on a hot day, and they still work. In fact, my friend's child left his out in the rain and after drying it out, it continued to work! I am truly disappointed with the inability of the Pixter to stand up to a child's environment. I would think twice before buying this toy.

Not a satisfied customer!!!
I purchased a Color Pixter for my neice's 5th Birthday. She already owns and loves her Leapster so I figured she'd really enjoy the Pixter. Before I gave it to her I myself tried it out and honestly thought it was kind of neat but a bit limited. I know the Leapster talks to you and the Pixter doesn't. For over $80 this thing should talk. Anyway, I give it to her and she literally had it out of the box for 5 minutes and I look over and the screen has been scratched beyond belief!! I know for a fact she used nothing but the stylus on the screen. Obviously she pressed too hard which they do warn you about in the owner's manual but lets be reasonable! She did exactly what she usually does to the Leapster and the Pixter can't withstand anything but a very gentle touch which is not what you're going to get from 4 and 5 yr olds. This is not the quality that I expected. She's not a destructive child with her toys. She's had the Leapster since Christmas, has no problems with it and loves it. I had read the reviews that these Pixters don't seem to hold up very well but for heavens sake...I paid well over $100 for this thing along with another software cartridge to use with it and it's in her posession for literally 5 minutes and this is how it holds up?? Fischer Price states that this toy is for ages 4 or 5 and up but take heed!! Unless you're buying this unit for a child who's older, I would not recommend it. In fact, I don't recommend buying it at all. I do highly recomment buying a Leapster and then buying the "Draw and Learn" software cartridge for about $25. It's very nice, and the Leapster is extremely durable. If I'd known they even made such a cartridge for the Leapster, I wouldn't have even bought the Color Pixter in the first place. Anyway, I returned the merchandise and recieved a full refund so no harm done but just a warning to all. When they say the screens will scratch, they're not kidding and it doesn't take much to scratch them. The Leapsters the way to go....hands down.

A nother *GREAT* toy,
Hey ya people. I bought one of these things and I say it is the best toy ever! O.K. here is the detales about this toy: 1:There is tons of other feachers on this than the first one. So don't go out and buy the older one. (It will bored to death!) 2: It is color. (duh,I don't know why I put that.) And the old one is, well, black and white. Witch can sometimes stran your eyes. 3: There is better games included with the color. For instince, pick a seane and draw and put stamps and stuff. create words and put them as stamps. (witch is cool.) color the number. Draw by yourself. And conect the dots. wonce you conect the dots a mini show like-thingie will have to do some thing about the picture. 4: Now this is about the batteries. Well, I played it A LOT and I repeat A LOT and STILL HAVEN'T HAD TO CHANGE THE BATTERIES! And to tell you it takes four of those batteries. 5: Here is a kind of cool feature. It tures off when you don't play with it after a while. 6: It can take both black and white softwere and color softwere. So make sure you have the adapter. And wene you want a color softwere make shure you pick up a color one beacause I picked up a black and white one on accident. That's all about the stuff about it! About the learning, well what I think is educational is if you don't have paper at home you can use it whoa, I was talking about education, It teaches you to be a good artest. Durability, you know you wouldn't want to damage a PDA for kids. I don't know what will happen but DON'T TRY IT! It also makes a prefect gift for Chistmas! So go out and buy it! You will be satisfied and so will your kids. Oh goodie! I got more things about this toy! You can save one, I repeat ONE piture or something you can save in a file. Which is a drag beacause you want to save more than ONE. And I tried to set the volum because it was noisey and it got scrachey. Eventually, it didn't scratch no more. And if you look on the bottom, you can put headphones. Which to me is nice. And once you get your pixter color, just follow the dierections you ain't going to be confusied. There are SIMPLE! Later dudes and evreybody else! P.S. Hope this review helped you! A LOT! ... Read more

Editorial Review

With two different configurations to choose from, the All Terrain Switchboard offers young riders more versatility than your typical scooter or skateboard. The Switchboard is shaped like an oversize skateboard with abuilt-in handle that can either be popped up or locked down. With the easy-grip handle in the up position the switchboard is a scooter for beginners; fold and lock the handle down and it's an off-road skateboard. The board itself is made of wood, with nonskid treads for extra traction, an extra-wide wheel base(14 inches wide), and rugged off-road wheels. The Switchboard is definitely on the heavy side and may be a little too cumbersome for younger kids, but it trades the extra weight for stability and durability. --Chris Burns ... Read more

I guess it's okay for _very_ young children...
I bought this product for my daughter for Xmas two years ago. It hasn't got much use because it is difficult to steer on a narrow sidewalk. Even so, the wheels have become very loose on their plastic trucks, and I can't find a way to adjust them! If you're looking for a scooter, skip this and buy another type of scooter. If you're looking for something to train a young child to ride a skateboard, this may be for you. I'd recommend this off-road model as opposed to the one with the regluar skateboard wheels - the off-road wheels can take more abuse and they can handle riding on grass and bumps. Because of its limited speed and steering, I wouldn't recommend this for a child older than 4. Older kids will struggle to keep up with their friends riding regular scooters if they're riding a Switchboard!

looking
Thanks to all who wrote in. There were too many "accidents" to be ignored. The wide wheel base and the handle with a locking problem. It is always my luck to buy something and all the things mentioned that could go wrong - DO.

Thank you again for the reviews. I will keep looking.

This is the worst toy ever!
It looks fun in the picture, but there is a major design flaw with this toy - the wheels stick out so far that when the rider tries to go they end up slamming their ankle into the tire. Within 2 minutes of using this toy my son ripped open his ankle. This toy should be recalled. Do not buy it. I would send mine back, but we had already thrown out the packaging.

Great "First" Skateboard!
I bought my son this skateboard when he was 2 1/2. I'm now shopping for a regular skateboard for him. He has used this toy for a year and a half now. It has survived some pretty tough play and a few bumps by the cars. My son loves this toy and it's usually the first driveway toy he goes for. He also uses this year round, which says a lot for New England. I highly recommend getting this board for a child who wants to do what the big kids do, but dosn't quite have the ability. This board taught my son how to balance and now he is ready for a regular board. I also would like to add that the mechanism for raising and lowering the handle is pretty simple and easy, but it really has to be done by an adult.

Nice Birthday Present
I purchased this for my 5-year-old boy's birthday. His eyes lit up when he saw it! It has great traction, much safer than a skateboard, even when the handle is down. We leave the handle up most of the time and use it as a scooter. The only problem we've had is when he puts his foot on the ground to scoot along he has to reach his foot out past the wide wheel that gets in his way. This doesn't seem to bother him much, he still loves it! ... Read more

classic dollhouse is still a hit!
This loving family dollhouse is certainly amazing. It's well built,AND it has two BABIES unlike the special edition townhouse. It also has very nice touches such as the fireplace in the den, roomy fridge, balcony on the second floor, and extra play space on the very top. Take my word for it, this is not all. for the low, low, low price of fifty dollars, it is really worth it. Every single penny. If you are looking for a special dollhouse that your kids will play with for more than five or six weeks, the classic dollhouse is the one! you will really enoy this and hurry to the toystore before they are sold out!!!!

Good gift
My two girls love this house. If I had to say anything bad about the house would be the door didnt stay on and the room are a little small. But overall we really been happy with this toy we love the people and funiture they make for the house. They are made real well.If you have younger girls and want to start barbie I would go with this toy first, same thing but better for younger girls.

Loving Family Dollhouse Still a Favorite After 5 Years
We bought the original Loving Family Dollhouse when my daughter was 3 years old. She is now nearly 7 and still loves to play with it. We buy new furniture and accessories every year. Though the housing "styles" may change, the premise is still the same - little girls love playing with dollhouses and Fisher-Price has created all the family members, accessories and pets to make every playtime fantasy come true. What a great buy and enduring toy for our family!

Still lots of fun
This was a huge hit this year, and the kids love it. I had held off on buying on Fisher Price's previous version, the Home and Stable when I heard they were bringing back the Classic version. I had heard there were problems with the stable versions durability and I thought the classic version would give more rooms.

No complaints so far on the classics durability, everything is still intact after a month of play.

However, I didn't really find more room in the house, and other than the durability concern I'm not sure if we wouldn't have been just as happy or happier with the Home and Stable version. The room on top is shown as a playroom and unlike the previous version, in the classic it is enclosed, this limits the furniture you can put in this room and what to use the room for. The main family room in the middle also seems to be more enclosed. The niches and stuff they added are cute, but a great deal is made about getting the loving family furniture so I think it should fit and compliment the house better. The smaller rooms on the left, especially the nursery we found to be very cramped. I do have last years nursery, so it could be the furniture we have, but we can't put all the furniture into the room and we found the room below seems to be a waste as well. And, the slanted roof on the nursery and bathroom make the already small rooms about an inch even smaller since you can't fit the furniture all the way in. We also found the way the classic one folds up (the floor fold into the house) you can't fit as much furniture in it when play times over, so we needed to get a tote to store the rest of the furniture.

I had more than one kid get just mildly annoyed that the furniture didn't fit right, match the rooms layout or stickers or windows. But even with that the kids still love it! Definitely a hit!

Fun dollhouse with a few minor flaws
My daughter got this for her 4th b-day. She was so excited. She has played with it almost everyday. One flaw is that the doors fall off all the time. Second, the rooms are kind of small for the furniture you can buy to go with it. It only comes with a mom,dad and baby so I bought the sister and brother dolls right away. Overall though, I would still recommend this dollhouse. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fun for hours and years!
My son received the wagon when he was nine months. He is now 13 months and still plays with the wagon and blocks everyday.

In terms of child development, this is a wonderful toy. It really grows with your child. At first he banged the blocks together to make cool loud noises. Now he works the wheel, opens the door, and actually investigates the inside of each block to see how each block works. For example, one block has little finger holes on the outside for him to turn the paddle on the inside of the block.

He has NEVER gotten his finger caught in the wheel nor have any of the stickers fallen off, and trust me he abuses (oops, I mean uses)this toy everyday.

It is also a great toy to take along for play at homes with no toys.

This is a great toy whether you use the batteries or not! Sometimes I think we have too many toys today that light-up and make sounds, so if you don't want the lights and sounds, that's fine, too. In fact, we often turn the sound/lights off and our son still enjoys playing with the blocks and wagon.

My nephew who is 2 also has this toy, and he loves it as well.

4-0 out of 5 stars We love this toy!
My daughter is 18 months and has played with this for the last five months or so. I noticed many of the negative reviews have been by parents of much younger children. My daughter has never smashed her fingers in the wheel and maybe the key is she's older and can control her hand movements better. My daugher enjoys doing the motions to get the different sounds from the toy and also stacking the blocks. And as an older and very mobile child she can push or pull the wagon wherever she likes.

2-0 out of 5 stars watch little fingers
I bought this toy for my son at 9mos, he is now a year old. Even though he loves this toy, he gets his fingers smashed everytime he spins the wheel (which is his favorite part). To see how much this hurt, I did it to myself. And I have to tell you it hurts a lot. I called fisher price and they offered a refund if I sent it back. They also said they haven't heard of this finger smashing problem. Which is an obvious lie after reading all of these other reviews. I wish they would re-design this toy because my son loves it so much.

5-0 out of 5 stars I Love This
I have an 8 month old and she has loved to play with this since she began sitting by herself. It keeps her entertained for at least a half hour. I can sit with her and just relax! Do watch over them though because they can hurt their fingers in the spinning drum if not supervised. She loves to play with the blocks by themselves also.

3-0 out of 5 stars WAY over priced...
My son has this toy. I thought at first he would grow into it and love to play with it. He played with it a few times when he learned to crawl and quickly got bored with it. I am hoping that he may play with it as he get older but as of right now, I think it was a big waste of money. This toy is WAY over priced. My son got it as a gift so at least I didn't waste my own money but the person that got it for him sure did. The only toy that my son likes with these peek-a-blocks is the elephant and of course he likes the blocks. He gets bored with the rest. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fun!
I bought this toy for my 13 month old son yesterday. He absolutely loves it.He just started his fascination with sitting down in chairs last week.I agree with the other 2 reviewers, my son had no problems sitting in the chair and playing ith the lamp, clock, book combo. Also my son does use the little green "tassle" switch to turn the lamp on and off, no one showed him how to do this.He played with the chair all evening either sitting in it or standing by the table playing with the toys. You will not regret buying this toy for your little one!

5-0 out of 5 stars Loads of Fun!
I just bought this chair at Toys-R-Us yesterday. After I opened the box, my daughter (who is 15 months)was right there interested in it. She was very anxious to sit in it (that is her newly learned skill -backing up and sitting down). Once I got it together (which took me 5 minutes - very easy, just need a phillips screwdriver), my daughter played with it for a good half hour before moving on to another toy. My daughter did not have any problems sitting in the chair or playing with the lamp/clock/book like the prior reviewer stated. (My daughter is at the 85th percentile for weight & 60th for height). I love the Laugh & Learn Products and my daughter loves to play with them too. This is a very fun and educational product. I like the music function and the learning function. My daughter got so much enjoyment of standing and sitting and standing and sitting, because everytime she sat the music would come on. My one and only concern is that while the chair is rather stable and "weighty" (due to the table electronics being heavy)my daughter almost tipped it over back wards when trying to climb on it. - She put her hand on the top of the seat and pushed it while trying to get her knee on the seat. But that happens with most items that my daughter tries to climb on despite my attempts to teach her to keep her feet on the ground. -- Typical toddler : )

5-0 out of 5 stars mother of only Fisher Price
I ordered this for my 21 month old daughter, and she loves it, I could not even get it together when she kept saying chair, chair. I don't know what that other lady was saying about it, my daught fits just fine in it and can play with the toys on the table, and she's 30 pds, and 33 inches tall, and has no problem, overall this is a very cute toy and fits in well with the rest of the collection I have.

1-0 out of 5 stars A Waste Of Money
I bought this for my 16 month old son yesterday and will be returning it today. The sizing on the package is 12 months - 36 months and yet the chair and table are too small for my son (granted he is quite large for his age at 34" and 33lbs, but surely he would fall within the size parameters).Once in the chair it is extremely difficult for any toddler (we tried it with our neighbor's child) to turn to the right and play with the table as it is a tight fit.The only way to play with it is for the child to use their left hand, since their right arm is wedged in.The book on the table is too close to the lamp and makes turning the pages difficult to do without pinching tiny fingers. This should have been moved at least an inch to the left.It is difficult to pull the switch on the lamp given the angle the child must be sitting, so hitting the top of the lamp is the only way to get it to work, at which point it stops being useful in teaching a child how to pull the switch.I am extremely disappointed with this given the high expectations I had based on the quality of the other Laugh & Learn products I have purchased. My suggestion to Fisher-Price:label your products by child weight limits, not age limits. ... Read more
