Amazon.com Review Starting off with 14 characters (an additional 11 are waiting to be unlocked),the game has a pretty standard premise--let Nintendo's stars beat on each otheruntil the timer runs out. However, a lot of emphasis is put on knockingopponents off ledges while avoiding the same fate. In typical Nintendo manner, there are quite a few power-ups to assist you in the melee. The actual combatisn't as intricate as in other fighting games; however, the ultra-cartoonylayout of the many, many arenas sometimes adds a strategic element not usuallyfound in similar titles. Super Smash Bros. Melee's strength lays in the mayhem created infour-player fights. The camera does an excellent job of positioning itself so allcombatants are constantly visible. Also, Melee sports some of the bestvisuals seen in a Nintendo product. All the characters are highly detailed, andthe movements of each are smoothly infused with personality. Donkey Kong lumbersand Princess Peach fights with grace. As the multiplayer mode is the key reason for this game's existence, thesingle-player mode is decidedly weak. The game features an adventure mode that playssomewhat like an old-school, side-scrolling Mario game. Sadly, despite its goodlooks, its gameplay is rather uninspired. This game is clearly at its best whenthere are two or more players with controllers in their hands. --MarkBrooks Pros: Reviews (889)
In this cool cartoon battle game of Nintendo's hottest characters there is so many different options. For example, on one player theres: adventure mode, classic mode, 51 events, training practice, target tests, homerun contests, and multi-man melee. In vs. mode you can: play melee, tournament melee, and special melee. You can even make up your own rules! Every character has different attacks and moves. If you want, try to collect the hundreds of trophies. Once again I give this game 5 perfect stars. This is one of the most funiest games ever! I recommend that you should buy this game if you love fighting combat.
The Game Also Sounds Great. The in game graphics are very good, but not the best. But, if you pause it and zoom in on a character, it just looks fantastic. And when you first put this dist in, don't touch the controller, the opening sequence is nothing less than beutiful. Just buy this game it's worth the $30s. I looked at my timer when I wrote this review, i've played for 88 hours, and i'm still having fun, of course after unlocking all characters and levels, which will take between 30 and 40 hours, you will need to play with friends to stay interested.

Amazon.co.uk Review The premise of the game is that Marios tropical holiday is ruined when hes stitched up by an evil look-alike for daubing graffiti all over the island. Rather conveniently, theres a water pump waiting for him to use, which not only washes away the mess but also doubles as a handy jet pack. The jet pack aspect means that whenever you fall off something you have the chance to immediately recover. This built-in safety net means the game can afford to be far more ambitious in its level design than ever before, with massive levels filled with trampolines, tightropes, water-powered windmills, huge coral reefs, and mountains and mountains of platforms. The whole thing looks amazing, too, with the most realistic water ever seen in a video game, and a near-infinite draw distance. On top of all this are rideable, fruit-juice-spewing Yoshis, extra water nozzles, super-hardcore platform levels where Shadow Mario nicks your jet pack, and goop-generating bosses who seem to live to make Princess Peachs laundry a nightmare. After the sweet but rather short pleasures of Luigis Mansion and Pikmin, you need have no fear that Mario Sunshine is of a similarly brief nature. There are a total of 120 shines to collect--the same number of stars as in Super Mario 64--and the game world is at least as large and far more interactive. This is without question the best game on the GameCube yet. That may be no more than you'd expect from a Mario game, but it's certainly more than most of us mere mortals deserve. --David Jenkins Reviews (475)
What else do I love... the graphics. Everything is detailed (except for Isle Delfino's inhabitants), and everything is affected by the heat... you can see objects in the distance blurred by the heat. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING reflects in the water, from coins, to the sky, including clouds, to mountains, and Mario himself. Nothing is left out. I also love it's challenge. It's a little easy at first, but some objectives are very challenging... sometimes too challenging. Oh, and the camera isn't nearly as bad as everyone is saying it is. Trust me. What don't I love about SMS... Well, there's not too many levels... 7 or 8. But there's still 120 shines to collect. But after a while you get sick of the levels you're playing in, and when you do beat the game after getting 60 shines or so, you probably won't have the incentive to get the other 60 shines. And if you do, there's not much of a reward. I wish something could've been done about that. But other than that, SMS is a great game, and you're doing a disservice to yourself by not playing it.
Mario Sunshine is a very cute game with a sweet feel to it, but it failed to deliver innovation and top quality graphics, soundtrack, and challenging gameplay. Yes, it is initially fun to play, but it isn't anything breathtaking as Mario 64 was. First, experienced players will find this game to be very easy to pass. The gameplay is easy, and acquiring sunshines becomes repetetive and predictable. For instance, in every world there's always red coin collecting, a Shadow Mario chase, and those Secret obstacle course areas. It's evident that the developers lacked imagination because in many worlds you get to do these tasks even twice. The difficulty level is a piece of cake compared to its predecessor, Mario 64. There are a few episodes that are tricky at first, but you eventually figure the solution very quickly. Now, Mario has a new water tool to play with, but I didn't find that amusing. I could care less if he used it or not. I missed the ability to punch enemies, and transform into different things. I actually felt Mario's powers were more limited in this game. He can jump higher, but that's about it. Managing the camera angles is a constant struggle. There are areas where you are enclosed between walls, and you can't see Mario. I guess that's about the only major difficulty in this game...lol. Bad, bad, bad. Second, the quality of the worlds you explore are not very impressive. Being a game for the Gamecube console, the graphics are not something to be awed of. With the exception of water, lightning, reflection, and shadow effects, the textures displayed are ugly to look at. I truly felt I was playing a Nintendo 64 sequel to Mario 64. I really was expecting sharper graphics. Another thing that dissapoints is the redundance of the worlds. Almost every single world is the same thing altered in a different way. They're all sunny, colorful, and invaded by water. Another issue is that there are only a few worlds to explore as opposed to 15 in Mario 64. These worlds are a little big, but not as huge as everyone hyped them to be. These worlds are about the same size as those found in the Banjoo-Kazooie titles. The animation sequences are very bad, too. The cinemas don't run smoothly. The screen keeps going black in order to show the next image. I think Mario 64's introductory and final animations were way better. These are the little things that are shameful considering the game was designed for a superior system. Third, the game's soundtrack is repetetive and non catchy. You get to hear the same theme in almost all the worlds. What else can I say? Overall, it's an OK game. Many claim Sunshine to be as big as Mario 64, but I think it's only half the size as Mario 64. Yes, this game has about 120 sunshines to collect, but the game feels short due to the easy gameplay and limited worlds. If you are new to 3D Platform gaming, then you will find this game quite a big challenge to complete. But if you're an experienced gamer, you'll catch on very quickly. So, I gave this game 3 stars based on the "experienced player" view. If you are new to 3D gaming, your rating may be higher.

The RE3 PlayStation Dual Shock Version with the original and rearranged data is the same as this passed off port. I don't need to review the game itself, it is another chapter in the saga that is well-known to fans. If you don't have a PlayStation1 or 2, then this is a solid buy. If you've never played RE3 and don't have the PS, it is a solid buy again. Whoever is making up the stories about the better graphics or a remake is fooling you. Don't get me wrong, RE3 is a great game, but it is a port. Graphics, game, content and all. I rated it 3 stars because of the marketing tactic. The original PS version is a 4.5 star game. You'll notice that this review will be posted on RE2 as well because Capcom did the same with that one. Robert Eldridge (...)

Nintendo has improved on the sort of basic golf simulation video game by using not just its proprietary characters, which are entertaining, but by using some creativity in course design. The courses are varied enough to keep the game fresh, and the graphics are nothing short of remarkable. The character art looks great, but the truth is in the details: the trees in the background, and even the grass on the course, look fantastic. Most of all, though, the game is FUN. The addition of an "automatic" two-tap system means that even your non-gaming buddies can pick up a controller and play along immediately. And the reviewer who complained that he beat the game in four hours obviously didn't spend hours playing the many side and bonus games which allow you to unlock additional characters and to improve the ones that are initially available. Finally, the game promises some exciting connectivity with the Game Boy Advance, which is great news for those who own both systems.
This Will Be A Great Game!
Fortunately, I now love this game! It was a little hard to get used to at first, probably because of my unfamiliarity with the game of golf, but once you learn the controls, it's truly awesome!

The game is a very strange hybrid. On one hand it's like Splinter Cell, with lots of peering around corners and timing your moves with how the guards walk. But the camera controls aren't as smooth as in Splinter Cell - so while you can zoom in to a first person zoom, it can be a bit awkward. On the other hand, it's an explore-the-map adventure game, sometimes leaving you frustrated as you go over the entire area trying to figure out what to do next. It makes the game last a while, I suppose, because if you just played the game from start to finish (ignoring the very, very long cut scenes) you could easily play it in a weekend without much trouble. The AI is interesting, but not nearly as realistic as many other games on the market right now. The new Bond game Everything or Nothing comes to mind as having incredible AI. In comparison, the people you run into in Twin Snakes seem to have owl-like eyes and ears, able to hear even your slightest movement as you hide behind a wall. The graphics are a strange combination of good and old. In some situations the graphics are quite nice and cinematic ... but in other situations it feels like you're playing an old-system Playstation game instead of a new generation console game. You'll get caught up in the flow of the good graphics and then something jarring will show up and kick you back out of the mood. The audio is rather good on the voice side, with the various characters really helping you connect with them. On the other hand, the sounds in-game aren't always of good quality and in some situations sounds you'd expect to hear are completely missing. So again it's very uneven. Definitely a fun game to rent, to watch the cinematics and be part of the long epic which is the Metal Gear Solid series. If you're a fan of it after that, then certainly buy a copy! But this is a title that definitely appeals to some, and really annoys others. It's best to find out which category you fall into first.
Anyways the legendary story line of the original metal gear solid. The cutting-edge gameplay of metal gear solid 2 sons of liberty.Fused together in metal gear solid the twin snakes, the best of both worlds available exclusively for nintendo gamecube. With new cut scenes, new game design and the creative vision of the game's originator, Hideo Kojima, it's a brand new game that's already a classic. So what I'm trying to say is that the graphics are sweet, the gameplay is sweet, heck the whole game is sweet.I would recomend this game to all the people that I can.
1. Villiens- This game packs some of the coolest villiens in video games. Im a big beleaver that a hero is only as good as the villien he or she is fighing agaist, and MGS TS did this perfectly. 2. Cut Scenes- With this version, you get WAY better cut scenes. Updated graphics help make this game more real, and will make it age way better. 3. Music- One of the biggest reason why this is better than the origanal is the great score with it. True, down to earth, ruthless operative music. 4. Story- This is one of the best games cuz the story is so that u dont know whats ganna happen next. Things just continue to happen and even with all that is happening, u must fight on. The only thing I kinnda fround on is the matrix feel I was getting out of the cut scenes. But other than that, this movie is well worth the $40 price tag.
This game is excellent in every way. It takes the setting and cutscenes of the original Metal Gear Solid and combines it with Metal Gear Solid 2's gameplay. The levels have been rearranged so that this works. Snake can now shoot in first-person, drag guard's bodies, hang from rails...everything from MGS2. Graphics are good, but Solid Snake looks kind of odd. Also, Otacon (dork) has no chin. Animation is identical to MGS2 (that means it's solid...heh heh). Cutscenes are incredible; hands down, the best cutscenes in any videogame. Every single motion is completely motion-captured and looks great. All of the main characters have good voice actors (except Otacon), especially Ocelot (Patric Zimmerman), Liquid (Cam Clarke), and Ninja (Rob Paulsen). The only complaint you might have is that the game is only 5-6 hours long (12 hours when playing it for the first time, and watching cutscenes while you're at it). There are six difficulty levels, though, so it could last you 30+ hours. Highly recommended; the guys at Silicon Knights (developers of Eternal Darkness) have done it again. ... Read more |

Great Game
A good game, but not the best. Gameplay: 8/10 Good gameplay; aiming doesn't mess you up, not too montonous, and replay value is o.k. Storyline: 10/10 The storyline is very goood, with several surprises and a great ending . Graphics: 8/10 The graphics are better than average; finer than the playstation version, and very smooth, and detailed; less polygonal shapes, and good detailing. However, although good, this is not the best out there. Controls: 9/10 The controls are good, easy to get used to at first, but later on you find that speed reflexes might have been better Overall: 35/40 giving you an average of about 8.5/10. It's a good game, but not the best out there. Even so, it is very good, and I would advise you to buy it.

Players can take on the role of their favorite Zoids TV show characters, including Bit and Van. You can pilot 40 different Zoids and customize them with more than 100 weapons. This game is coming out for Game Boy Advance and Game Cube. I think that it is best though, to buy it for Game Cube because the graphics and controls will be better. Features: * Mission Mode: Fight for the Empire or the Republic in the ongoing story for control of the Planet Zi Bottom Line: At last, Zoids fans can battle with their favorite Zoids. And this game is only on Nintendo GameCube and Game Boy Advance!

THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
Later, Nintendo released a similar game called Stadium 2, which was identical to the first but with small adjustments to the unlockable features and battle moe, and including better graphics, new games, and compatibility with Gold, Silver, and Crystal Pokemon. This also was fun and useful. However, with the release of Ruby and Sapphire, Nintendo actually split the expected Stadium-style games into three: Colosseum (which included battle mode and a new RPG mode), Box (which was purely a storage utility), and Channel (dealing with the mini-game side of things). Box looks like a useful utility, and Colosseum is wonderful, but Channel is a fun mixture between the classic Stadium and Stadium 2 minigames as well as the old game "Hey You Pikachu." In it, you befriend a wild Pikachu which is interested in your new TV (haha). You watch new shows every day, which include Psyduck's news, Squirtle's shopping channel, and Wobbuffet's quiz show. Each day you get new shows. The best part about this game is definately the availability of a special Pokemon episode featuring Meowth and the Pichu Brothers, who first appeared in the 3rd Mini-Movie "Pikachu and Pichu." This show comes in five parts, and you must search for the fifth along with Pikachu. Though the addition of the animated episode was a wonderful touch, the interaction with Pikachu was not as good as the old game Hey You Pikachu, mostly because of the lack of microphone and the focus being taken off you befriending Pikachu. Also, the mini-games were not as entertaining as the Stadium and Stadium 2 games were. Mostly because of the cute episode, though, I give this game 4/5.

For a while I had planned on getting this title, but really had to wrestle over my decision for a week or so. ... Let me say, I shouldn't have worried -- THIS GAME RULES! More fun than most other games these days. The graphics are gorgeous 2.5d -- you are limited to moving in 2 dimensions, but the graphics are pretty much 3d (as well as cel-shaded -- but the mix really works well). A lot like the style of Super Smash Brothers Melee. Lots of really nice lighting effects, backgrounds, etc. But what this game is really about is the action! It's not really too tough, but it's still challenging. Not mind-numbingly impossible by any means, but not a total cynch, either. It's the kind of game that sucks you in, and because you are having so much fun you don't notice how much time is passing. This is a good thing! Yes, you may have to go through levels a number of times to get them right -- who cares? That's what it's all about! At first I found the chip system a little bit confusing, but now that I understand it, I really like it a lot -- tons of special weapons and flexibility in your approach to taking on the bad guys. The control scheme is very easy to learn, so you will be able to jump right in and start blasting viruses and navis gone wild. GET THIS GAME -- don't question your decision, just get it, and you will be happy. Activates that little dopamine generator in your brain that not many games these days manage. Thank you, Capcom! And might I add, what a very reasonable price for a brand new title...Here, here!

Graphics: (8/10) The graphics are not phenominal but they are good. the colors and landscapes are rich and the polygon texturing is not too bad either. But really, who gives a C**P about graphics? dont be a grpahics freak. Sound: (9/10) The sounds are good to say the least. What really had me on the floor laughing was the voices. You can pick from man man many many voice schemes and they all say differnt hillarious things. Ive logged almost 50 hours into this game an i have barley heard a 10th of the sayings. Music: (7/10) Eh.... Gameplay: (10/10) I know you must think im crazy but really the gameplay here is, in my opinion, nearly perfect! Although ther are a few minor glitches, the controls are packed with just the right amount of sensitivity and the moving of your lil freeky crawler is almost flawless. also aiming is a sheer joy. its so simple yet you feel so rewarded when you gauged that wind just right and hit your enemy off a cliff. EGMs dead wrong about aiming being hard. Replay: (9.5/10) what can is say, it the best friggin multiplay party game on the GCN! Total (not an average): (9/10) Sidenote 1: Although some complained about the sharing of one controller, i think it adds some fun gamplay tricks that can make a world of differnce in a very very close match... wink wink sidenote 2: WTF YOU CAN NAME YOUR OWN TEAM! just select you team name on the team create screen and then select the name on the window that pops up and name away. BOTTEM LINE: please if you want hours of good clean fun buy this game. -Pk

All the micro-games have only 5 controls: up, down, left, right, and button. In a couple seconds, you have to figure out what to do. With so few controls and such a short window, you *know* it's going to be something very simple, you just have to try and figure it out. Even if you fail, you usually glean some info as to what you *should* have done, so the next time that puzzle comes around, you'll be ready for it. It's hilarious to play this game in a group, and watch people try to do the right thing in that breif moment. Everyone gradually starts to identify the puzzles as they begin to repeat, and then it's about who has the fastest hands and best learning curve. This is a great party game; just encourage all participants to go with the flow, and not get frustrated by the lack of instruction. Figuring out what to do in a couple of seconds without any instruction is really the heart of the game, and it's great fun if you give in to it.

I was so excited about the MegaMan Anniversary game and I played Mega Man 2. It is true about the controls, it can be difficult at first, but it takes some getting used to. I tried playing the other games and I'm still having fun with them. I really don't care too much for Mega Man 7 or 8, even though the graphics and the music are better than Mega Man 1-6. Two things though, where was Mega Man X for the Super Nintendo? And they should have had a control configuration in the options screen. In Mega Man 2 (this is what I know so far), you don't have to write down the password. The game saves where you left off so I don't think there is a need to write down a password. And you also don't have to go to your weapons screen. You can change your weapons using your L button. (Now I see why people are complaining about the controls LOL) Other than that, I will continue to play the Mega Man Anniversary.
In this collection, you get the following: Mega Man (NES) Sadly, the two arcade games are unlockable. But I'm not gonna take one star down because of that. GRAPHICS: If you've seen the graphics on all the Mega Man games, then that's exactly how they'll look like. No changes, no overhauls...just pure original vintage graphics. The only difference is that theres no slowdown or any errors like on the original NES carts. Capcom did a great job fixing all those slowdowns and errors. AUDIO: Once again...the same thing ! However I dislike the voice acting in Mega Man 8. That's the only thing that annoys me. CONTROLS: All the Mega Man games play exactly the same way as they should be. The only real change is that "B" is jump and "A" is fire. Plus the "Y" button enables you to do rapid fire. Now I've read a few reviews saying that the controls bite, and in result, they gave it one star. I have to disagree with them. The controls are actually pretty good, once you get the hang of it. And the slight changes are nothing to get mad about. At first, I didn't like the controls. But after a few minutes, I got used to it. These controls are actually pretty good. GAMEPLAY/VARIETY: You get to do more than just play all the Mega Man games. You can also unlock a gripload of extras, such as remixed music inspired by the series, the two Mega Man arcade games, picture galleries, and lots lots more. Although it's kinda frustrating to try to unlock the arcade games (I'm guessing you have to beat all eight of the games to get them), it's always good to play through all the games...well in my opinion at least. FINAL OPINION: I don't care what other people say about this collection. This is far by one of the best compilations I have ever owned ! Finally I get to play all Mega Man games without going through the trouble of buying a good conditioned NES and all the games, which is probably a LOT of money. You get all these games for $29.99...sweet deal ! This is a good way to celebrate Mega Man's 15th anniversary. Old school all the way ! If you're a longtime fan of the Mega Man series, or never tried some of the Mega Man games that you've been wanting to try, this compilation won't disappoint.
THIS GAME ROCKS
An almost flaw-less collection! P.S. This game is actually rated E for Everyone, not Teen like it is displayed on this webesite.
