Amazon.com Review The EyeToy games, while fun, are too simple to keep solo gamers interested for long periods of time. EyeToy is best as a party game played with groups of friends, or as a way to show off your PS2. And as a peripheral for future games EyeToy holds a lot of promise. Let's hope that Tony Hawk and John Madden find a use for this little camera. --Porter B. Hall Pros: Features Reviews (125)
***fine print: even this almost-perfect sounding game has its drawbacks---you have to get used to pressing buttons by waving your hands in the air which might take a while and on some of the games you can't see yourself very clearly on the screen. Also, in the dancing game (i think its called Disco stars) you have to position the camera in a very good position or sometimes the buttons don't get pressed and you don't get points.*** BUT STILL, THIS GAME IS THE BEST!!!
eye toy ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One note: characters do die rather graphically, with the requisite geysers of blood and very, uh, wet sound effects. So it may not be for the younguns, but then, this is the company that makes the Grand Theft Auto games, so...

I am pleased with NCAA Football 2005. The upgrades make gameplay much more fun and realistic. The slow loads are annoying, but it's something that you just have to deal with. Some of the anticipated new additions to this game include: *Choose Your Team Captain - But make sure he has a high composure rating. I can't find how any of these three things work. I can go in and create signs, which is cool, but I can't seem to figure out these three upgrades. I was glad to see Samford University, my wife's alma mater. Let's see if I can take them through some dynasty seasons and make them a powerhouse.
Graphics are slightly better, but: 1) recruiting is terrible. Whole new points system, which means the first time you recruit you really don't know how to spend the points. You will not get as many players as before. Recruiting WAS my favorite part of NCAA previous versions. 2004's recruiting inifinitely better than this. And Scouting? Fahgettaboutit. Eats up WAY too many points. 2) Discipline terrible. What a great idea--too bad EA had no real clue how to do it, or else threw it in at the last minute. My team had violations nearly every week, and you're only given so many "discipline" points, so if you run out early every other infraction, even if it's big, HAS to be IGNORED! What mo-ron thought that up? Punishment is bad enough by losing players--why even have "points" system? Clueless! AND, when you run out, you'll VERY likely be put on probation, so you can't get as many players in recruiting! Just curious, EA SPORTS: Is there only so much discipline a REAL coach can dish out, or is he limited to ONLY disciplining so may players? Ridiculous. 3) the game has gone back to "cheating." I thought last year's version was very good about not "cheating." This year's is back to its old tricks. Call an audible? The defense reacts to your call before your own players do! Note to EA SPORTS: Usually, defenses do not change their call just because the offense is calling an audible! Learn this lesson, please, for the future installments in this franchise. As some other reviewer has said (which I second): EA: please do not change things just for the sake of change. IMPROVE it, or leave it alone. Not nearly the enjoyment here as 2004.

addictively good, but not perfect sprint: this is a quick run from point A to point B. Ive enjoyed this game, its more addictive than anything. I keep trying to get further and further to see what else i can unlock to customize my car. I drive the same car as I picked in the game (Honda Civic) so it's pretty neat to see what all can be done to a little car like that. The game has a reasonable level of difficulty, and you can choose easy, medium, or hard levels before each challenge. most of the time you can probably get by on medium, with good skills, but later in the game ive had to drop down to easy, especially on the drag races. The drift mode ive stayed on medium difficulty and still smoked it. If you have mad driving game skills, you could probably go for hard mode, and it might help you unlock stuff alot quicker. So given my frustration with this game, i have to say ive played it like a madman for the last 5 days. It took me 2 full days to beat one race in the drag mode, where you have to get a perfect start, and switch every gear perfect. Even then, I had to hit the nitrous and look in the rearview mirror to block. I was so frustrated with this part of the game, but to have beaten it was a very rewarding feeling. The sense of speed is fairly good, the graphics are well done, the control is good, but you might get angry at some of the traffic !!(but hey, you're doing 165 mph on the wrong side of the road!) I haven't tried the online mode yet but i plan to get back online soon with my PS2 to see how much other people have tricked out their cars. I can definitely say for sure that other games will be copying the "customize your ride" feature of this game

The game is nothing new and is really bland. The graphics are dated and look rather dull. I would not recommend this game to anyone who had bought the last one. Look out for Jak 3 or Ratchet & Clank 3, they are much better games and look a hundred times better. I played all three games and this was the boring one! Is this for real? This game looks pants. I was hoping it would be better then the last one, but in fact it's worse. The game has cut-scene after cut-scene and no real fun factor. ... Read more |
