Geared to smaller children, this life-sized dollhouse has large rooms and a sturdy wood construction that will hold up to heavy hands. Measuring 51 inches tall, 32-1/2 inches wide, and 13-1/2 inches deep, this four-story dollhouse has high ceilings that accommodate any 12-inch-tall fashion doll. On the first floor is a hip living room for entertaining guests (other dolls) The second floor features a small kitchen and dining room with a superb city view. A glamorous and comfortable bedroom suite takes up the whole third floor while the fourth hosts a pet parlor and an intimate penthouse lounge. Dolls can ride from floor to floor on the working elevator that moves when kids crank the handle. The uptown dollhouse also comes with 14 pieces of retro-looking furniture that are durably made of wood and don’t have any small parts that could potentially break off. Getting young children interested in toy trains is a wonderful way to teach as well as to have a lot of fun. By playing with train sets, young minds learn how to fit things together, how transportation works, how cities and communities are created, all the while enhancing their imagination through pretend play. This sizable and table kit features a smooth, easy to clean melamine surface on the top with convenient storage compartment underneath. The 83-piece train set sports a wide variety of train cars plus buses, police cars, dump trucks, and other vehicles to operate on the pieces of road, which are included in addition to the track. Filling stations, gates, buildings, bridges, and other modular components add to the magic. Since all the pieces fit together so handily, young train enthusiasts can spend hours designing their own sprawling networks and configurations. We liked how complete this set is and how handily it all stores when playtime is done. Compatible with Thomas the Tank Engine and Brio train sets. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

I've been handing them down for years
When these first came out, I bought them for one of my kids. They've been passed down several times since then (I even had to buy another set for my triplets). We love them, the babies play with them, teethe on them, make them click and clack and any other thing possible with them. They're great toys!

    Excellent toy
I bought this for my daughter for her first Christmas, she was 3 mo old. What a life saver. She loves "talking" to the little monkey and elephant. When it came to teething time, the first toy she reached for was the one with three rubbery butterflies. My daughter seems to love this toy. I would recommend to anyone.

    My daughter loves this monkey...
My 2 1/2 month old daughter absolutely loves the monkey! She started to enjoy looking it at about 3 weeks of age. She then moved on to smiling and batting at it. He is now the receiver of many smiles, giggles, and conversations throughout the day. She also likes the elephant, but she definitely prefers the monkey. I've found that this toy is very portable, it's easily attached to her bouncy seat, stroller, car seat, swing, etc...

4-0 out of 5 stars Great toys
My daughter has been in love with the monkey since she was 2 months old. She loves its google eyes. She now uses the butterfly for teething.

3-0 out of 5 stars Worried about the safety of the monkey
I purchased the monkey individually for my son at about four months old. He loved it being attached to his car seat so much that I brought it inside and let him play with it in the house as well. As he got older (around 8 months and teething) I noticed he would put the hard plastic eyes in his mouth and try to bite them off. That made me nervous enough to throw the toy away. They did seem to be attached well, but I didn't want to find out otherwise the hard way. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars mothers best friend
some kids have favorite toys which they can grow out of, get bored with etc.. The fun with this play set is, no matter how young or old your child is, if they like dinosaurs the fun is endless with this playset.. there is so many different varities of dino's to choose from that its hard to choose your favorite, also, the accessories add the imagination of real life dino atmosphere... They can learn about the different species, what they ate, who could fly, swim, who was bigger, faster.. etc... this is an awsome all round toy..

Great review from the child I bought it for!
I purchased this toy for a dinosaur loving little boy who lives in another state. I figured this was a good buy, to get him something different than the usual Wal-mart gift. (Hoping that I wasn't getting him something that he already had.)

He loved it! He loved the volcanoes.......that was way cool for him. And the fact that it could be packed up got rave reviews from the Mom.

If you've got a dinosaur lover, this is a great gift!

    It ROCKS!!!!!
This playset is very reilistic and has lots of dinosaurs! It also has a reilistic mat that you can put your dinosaurs on! Set include my favorite dinosaur, T-rex!! Get this for your kiddos! The'll love it! :)

    Great Dinosaurs!
My 4 year old son saw this same set at a neighbor's house and he didn't want to put them down! LITERALLY! (We had to carry him home screaming apologizing profusely for his behavior to everyone) Even days after, he wanted to go over and play with them. But the screaming episode afterward kept bugging me and didn't want to go through that again.

So I asked my neighbor where she got them and logged on to Amazon.com to find them. The local Toys R Us were sold out.
For less then $25- it's a great collection.
With so many dinosaurs in various sizes, trees, rocks, volcanos and a playmat in a great carrying case- I couldn't resist to get them.

We took them to the beach just last week and there were 3 other kids ranging in ages of 2 to 5 and we were amazed how quiet they were playing with them. Only problem was getting them back from them when it was time to come home. It was their turn to scream =)

The names of the dinosaurs are underneath them, so if Mom and Dad can't remember which is which, flip them over and with confidence call out the name. Therefore impressing the kids to the end of the earth. "Mom you are so smart" my son once told me. Hey, it felt good!
And soon you and the kids will be able to recognize their names without peeking.

Great gift for all ages and he continues to play with them months later. ahhh peace and quiet.

    GREAT toy set! Great Price!
My 5 year old nephew LOVED this set, he is very into dinosaurs. Even his three year old sister liked to play with it too. The dinosaurs are large, and some have moving parts. This is a must for any child that loves dinosaurs! ... Read more

The knock against race track toys throughout history has been how relatively unimaginative they usually are. One builds the track according to the specifically laid out plan, then watches the cars go around in circles. But the Tech Trax line from Hot Wheels is a good deal more inventive than that. Using interchangeable flexible tracks, you can choose to either follow the instructions or completely wing it and make and re-make your own sprawling track set. This particular Tech Trax kit features three air stunts including a very cool "virtual curve" where the cars are moved along via a robot arm. A power booster section of track keeps the cars speeding along quickly. Three Hot Wheels cars are included but the three required D batteries are not. --Charlie Williams ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!
I bought this for my son when he was 15 months old, and he loved it right away. It holds his attention for hours...amazing! The three doors on the bottom open and close w/o worry for pinched fingers, which satisfies his need to open and close things all day long. All of his friends love it too! A suggestion though, this exact item is $79.98 at Toys R Us.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best kitchen there is !!!!!
We bought this for our daughter (then 15 months) at christmas time. It has been the first thing she goes to every morning since. It is so realistic and fun, she loves pretending to cook and do dishes. We have bought some more play food since christmas and the cupboards have plenty of room to store it all! I think this is one of the best big ticket items you could buy....and will grow with your child for years to come! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

5-0 out of 5 stars Just Like Mommy's Kitchen
My 2-year-old daughter got this kitchen for Christmas and loved it! I loved the fact it didn't have many little pieces like the other play kitchens had. The kitchen comes with pretend food, however there are no pots, pans, or utensils. Littles Tikes makes a set for this kitchen with pots and pans-I would recommend buying it. And Little Tikes = DURABLE. The stove, faucet, microwave all make true to life noises. And my daughter loves to poke her head through the window. My husband and I put it together ourselves. It took us about an hour, not that difficult. My daughter loved it because it was so much like Mommy's kitchen. I have no complaints whatsoever. This toy was well worth the money we spent ($100 at Toys R Us around Christmas). My daughter had peeled off some of the stickers (she does that to all her toys) and Little Tikes sent me replacement ones for FREE! This is a MUST BUY!

5-0 out of 5 stars Our L'il Tyke loves this!
My granddaughter is turning two this week and we bought her this kitchen after doing a lot of research on price, durability and fun. At this age, it's hard to find toys that will keep their attention for longer than 5 minutes. She LOVES this! From looking thru the window, washing her hands in the pretend sink, opening and closing the doors, and her favorite is the microwave. She LOVES buttons! She doesn't care much for some of the sounds, for example, she puts her hands over her ears and walks away when the "water" noise comes on. She can't identify the food yet so the "interaction" about cooking the chicken or the macaroni and cheese and the instruction about not forgetting to clean up, goes right over her head. Perhaps as she gets older she'll appreciate it. When I'm trying to focus her attention AWAY from something, like the TV, I just say: Do you want to go wash your hands? Or Do you want to press the buttons? and she goes running for her kitchen. Needless to say, I highly recommend this toy!

5-0 out of 5 stars Very pleased!!!
We bought this for our 2 year old daughter who loves kitchens. We didn't want to buy the most expensive one because she loves any kitchen set. This one has great sounds and features. She was already playing with it when I pulled it out of the box, and it wasn't even put all the way together. She has played with it so much since we got it yesterday. It doesn't come with a lot of dishes, but she is happy with what came with it. At 2, she doesn't need so many dishes, she'll just lose them right now anyway. She has some from a picnic set. I recommend this product highly. And I got it on sale, so that was a bonus!!!!!!!! ... Read more

The SUV of wagons, the Radio Flyer Discovery Wagon--in traditional redwith the familiar Radio Flyer logo on each side--features everything thatexplorative, toy-hauling kids need for getting around in style. !!!!!!TOY OF THE YEAR FOR OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!
I had shopped for a wagon and done all my home on every single one out there. I really wanted one that would fit my three girls 2, 4, and 5. Discovery Wagon by Radio Flyer is great. It has the no-tilt steering, and the storage compartment that fits anything you need. The removable sides are great for my young girls for easy in and out. I am a very picky shopper but this wagon is everything and more. Fits in my van with no problem. Removable sides make it so easy to tuck it away. We use this wagon for zoos, walks to the park, carnivals, or just for the kids to play around with. I highly recomend this wagon as Radio Flyer has a great reputation.

    Great Wagon!!!
This is a really great wagon. We shopped around quite a bit before buying and this was our favorite! It is much quieter than the ones with plastic wheels and is easy to steer both on pavement and the grass. I would highly recommend this one.

Most expensive Plastic I¿ve ever bought
I bought this after reading many good reviews by customers (last time I listen to them). It is a very attractive looking wagon, easy to put together. However I was quite disappointed by the construction. The moving parts are made of either by plastic to plastic or plastic to metal contacts. Therefore, these parts will wear out fast. It is a good wagon, not worth [the price]. (...)

    What a bargain!
I purchased this wagon as a Christmas (2003)gift for my then 15 month old granddaughter. We filled it with toys and put it under the tree for her. It was the best thing I ever bought for her - worth ever penny. She has enjoyed it so much. Now that spring is here we have enjoyed our outdoor time as well. She loves being pulled in it or climbing in and out and pulling it herself. We live at the beach so I can see it is going to come in very handy this summer. I would HIGHLY recommend this product. I can already see that it will be used for years to come.

    check the size dimensions first
One thing you should keep in mind before buying a wagon like this one is the dimensions. It's huge, basically as large as a whole bath tub.

It maybe isn't the best size for pulling around a baby under a year old, and of course it isn't small enough for a baby to push around him or herself after learning to walk. It really is meant for carting around toddlers only. ... Read more

This is the perfect set of wheels for the 3-year-old who wantsto trade up from plastic ride-ons, but isn't ready for the perils of areal bike. It features a sensible bucket seat with a grab handle on theback--but the standout feature is grippy, extra-wide tires. (The backones are over 3 inches wide, and their outer edges are more than 19inches apart.) The only concessions to fantasy are two pretend"shock-absorbers" on the front forks and a bolted-on plastic "speedometer" atthe front. --Richard Farr ... Read more

Great price for a great tricycle!
I read all of the other reviews before I purchased the Supertrike for my 3 year old son. It is sturdier than I expected. It looks good and my son loves it. An excellent choice for a first trike.

    Excellent tricycle for a beginner
This is the second tricycle that I have bought so that my two nephews will no longer fight about who gets to ride. The construction is very sturdy and durable. The handle bars are strong and directly attached to the wheel making it unlikely to move unlike other tricycle handles which are just bolted on to the mainframe.
The bucket seat allows the child to push with their backs and legs to pedal with more ease than a regular up-down motion that many 2-3 year olds cannot do. The wider wheel base as well a wider frame at the back 2 wheels provide a stronger center of gravity making this tricycle less likely to tip over with sharp turns. As a medical professional who deals with the pediatric population, I would highly recommend this tricycle for all first timers.

Was all I hoped for and more
I drove to toysRus to see one and they did not have any. So I ordered it and it arrived on time. I took this to Russia for a friend's little girl. I was so happy it made it undamaged and passed through customs without a problem. It is well made and assembled easily. The little girl is 4 years old and about 40in tall and she fit fine with the seat not all the way back. I would say she could grow to 50in and still be able to ride. Because I had read a review that said an adult rode it. I climbed on and rode around. It did not seem to flex at all with 150lbs on it. I would not say thats a good idea, but I looked like the guy from Rowan and Martin's laugh in on it. Very nice trike...It is better designed with the high handle bars and the big plastic tires grip well and seemed very stable. If you are reading the reviews, which is what made me buy it...I would buy it, you will not be disapointed.

This is the "dream" trike for any toddler!!!
I purchased this trike for my 3 year old son. It is absolutely fabulous! Simply the best trike to buy. The wide wheels not only enable it to better grip whatever surface it's being ridden on, but they also ensure a more stable three-wheel vehicle. My little boy loved it from the get-go! I was originally looking for a more "big wheel" type of trike when I came accross this one. I would highly recommend anyone looking for that "first trike" for their little one to try this one. You won't be disappointed. On top of it all, the price is unbelievable. Enjoy the ride!

Great Trike - Don't Buy Stroller Bar
Excellent tricycle - don't buy the accessory stroller handle listed on the page with it as an accessory - IT DOES NOT FIT THIS MODEL. Anybody home at AMAZON? Write a disclaimer on the description for the stroller push bar - does not fit Supertrike III. ... Read more

    Pretend Doctor Kit
I just love this set! My kid get me ready for my checkup, and it takes away the fear of them. The electric stethescope sounds like a real heartbeat(not like some that just go 'boom, boom' it goes 'thump, thump') and the blood-pressure cuff is quite realistic. I even brought it to my child's doctor and he recommends it! If you want a quality toy this is an example.

    Find another kit
This toy seemed like it would be really great for my aspiring "baby doctor". Unfortunately, the Doctor's "shirt" is cheap vinyl and ripped at the shoulder seam the first time she put it on. The scissors came apart. So both pieces ended up in the trash. The rest of the kit is easy to put back in the large plastic box (unlike the fisher price doctor kit) and the other pieces seem to endure all my girls can dish out. ... Read more

Not as good as the original
I bought these for my daughter when she was 3. Now 5, she and her 2 year old brother play with them. They are no where near as good as my bristle blocks from childhood (still at Grandma's). These just don't stay together well at all. The people that swivel and the wheels looked like they'd add great dimension and improve a classic toy, but with the reduction in block quality (ie, they don't stick together!), I have to say these are a so-so toy, at best.

Another interesting way to build things
My kids really like their bristle blocks. I like the bright colors and the different sizes. My 3 year old just likes to put the pieces together--it doesn't matter if it is anything or not. It is just interesting to him that they stick to each other at this point. I built a car for him--from that point on, he has been able to visualize different things--cars, buildings, yards, etc. and put them together. I think that these, blocks, gears, legos, lincoln logs, etc. are all very important to a child's development. These are lots of fun for a reasonable price.

    Bristle Blocks are Great!
My grown sons played with Bristle Blocks when they were children. Now my 3yr old grandson loves them as well. We gave him a small set for Christmas when he was two and he has been playing wiht them ever since. This year he gets the biggest set Imaginarium makes. I feel his imagination is fed with every space ship or airplane he creates.
And his Dad & Uncle get a big charge out of them as well, for them its a blast from the past. We love them!

    Great toys for children
My son got some of these as a fun toy to play with when we where at a wedding and the women was nice enough to send them home with us well these soon became my sons favorite toy and he takes them everywhere and as a very active four year old these keep him very busy and quiet for hours on end they can build anything with them . Great toy for kids of all ages i belive,

    Blocks from my childhood!
I love these blocks!!! I had been looking in stores everywhere for them. I just turned 30 and & have a 3 year old & a 5 month old. I had been looking for toys that I loved as a kid ... They have all disappeared! (Like fashion plates!!!) These blocks provided my brother and I with hours of fun. The wheels may not have worked perfectly, but if you built something, it stayed together. Only warning - Keep away from teething babies & puppies! These lasted for years!!! ... Read more

    Fun
This is an exellent toy for all ages. Its educational porpose is about the dogs body parts. It is soft and i think it is very soft. It is a great gift for all ages and almost the very best friend.

The best comfort toy for little ones.
I recently purchased Darby for my first grandchild's 1st Christmas. He would never hug us so we taught him how to hug and love Darby - now we get smothered with hugs!! He sleeps with his Darby and has a big smile for him each morning. I couldn't wait for Christmas to give it to him. I brought the box home and left just his nose poking out! It was wonderful to see my little grandson's eyes light up and watch him tentatively touch Darby's big head. He immediately pulled him out of the box and laid down on him. Darby is so soft and cuddly that he is considered the best of comfort toys for little ones. It was well worth the cost. Thank you Animal Alley!

Can't wait to give it to my Grandson
Wow!!!! I received Darby within three days. Fast shipping, thank you Amazon and Toys R Us. Darby is soooo cute, I opened the box and out came a very huge dog. I can't wait to give it to my Grandson. Darby is so big, soft and cuddly. I hated to put him back in the box. I don't know if we can keep him in there until Christmas. My older kids think Darby is adorable and irresistable that they want my grandson to have it right now. I know it a little expensive for a stuffed animal but it is well worth the money. Darby requires no batteries, won't break and no pieces to loose which is a big plus to me. I am sure my grandson will enjoy him for years to come. I recommend Darby to anyone who wants to have fun, love and hug a big dog. He is so tempting and I soo am glad we got him for our grandson.

    cuddly,soft,floppy,comfortable,cute fun
My mother got this dog for my son last Christmas when he was one year old and everytime we watch tv at her house, we drag this dog out. When I say we, I mean the entire family - not just my son. It's so soft and squishable that you can smoosh it under you to get just the right amount of height for on-the-floor tv viewing. And his fur feels wonderful for taking naps. I myself have fallen asleep on him numerous times. My son loves to get on top of him and pretend that he's taking a ride somewhere - he just pulls the ears like they're reins. He also loves to drag it around and jump on it sometimes. In a year, it's taken quite a bit of abuse and hasn't needed a repair stitch yet. The great thing about buying this dog is that it's a toy that I know he'll never outgrow. Even when he's a teenager, I'm sure he and his friends will want to use this comfortable dog as a pillow for watching television. The only problem with this dog is of course, storage - this puppy is BIG! At my mother's house, he generally lays on the guest bed until we come over. And sure, he's a little pricey, but he is a very well-put-together and versatile toy, which in my opinion makes it worth the money.

    Map accuracy
We liked the description of the map puzzle and thought it would be perfect for our puzzle-loving toddler, but we read an Amazon review (dated 11/03) noting that the upper peninsula of Michigan was colored the same as Wisconsin. Obviously, accuracy is important for an educational toy, so we planned on buying it and painting the piece to fix the Michigan problem. But when the puzzle arrived, both parts of Michigan were yellow, and Wisconsin was blue - the manufacture has fixed that oversight!

Note however that some of the small Northeastern & New England states are combined on single puzzle pieces, so in fact the puzzle only has 44 pieces, not 50. Toddlers won't mind because the puzzle is fun, but parents might think twice before buying for children trying to learn all the states.

    Awesome educational toy
My 4 year old loves maps, so this was a great Christmas present for him. Now he knows where all of the states are and almost all of the capitals! He also knows the Pledge of Allegience now. The only thing I don't like is the speaker is on the back of the puzzle, so if you set it on the carpeted floor or couch it's muffled (and you have to lay it almost flat otherwise the pieces will fall out). But the volume is real loud if you hold it upright and there's no volume control. But overall, it's a great toy and one of my son's favorites. I bought another one for a family member and she loves it too.

GREAT STORAGE DRAWER FOR PUZZLE PIECES
My son is a USA puzzle nut, so he was thrilled to receive this gift. What I especially like about this puzzle is: #1:Each shape fits into its own compartment, so my 2 year old daughter can figure it out too if she keeps turning the piece around until it fits #2: There is a storage drawer on the side for easy clean up. I just wish there were a volume control on it (when the states are pushed, the name of the state is recited along with other facts, but I can live with that.

    Inaccurate
The upper peninsula of Michigan is blue and looks like it's part of Wisconsin. My 5 year-old niece lives in Wisconsin and my parents are from the UP. I won't buy this product because I don't want my niece to think that the UP is part of Wisconsin!

    Amazing educational tool!
My two granddaughters (aged 2 and 5) have this puzzle and both know most or all of the state capitals and state nicknames. The 2-year old especially puts together the puzzle, dumps it out and puts it together again over and over for hours on end. My daughter says that when neighbor kids visit, this puzzle is the toy of choice. Based on this, I bought one for my grandson, aged 3. ... Read more

I really loved receiving the 213 count coloring set for my birthday. The quality is excellent and the durability is better than most I've encountered. Dinosaur devotees will be roaring over this radio-controlledTyrannosaurus Rex as he growls and roars, moves his head, thrashes histail, and even blinks his beady yellow eyes. He can also turnrealistically and walk forward a few steps on a hard surface, growlingand roaring at the same time, if you choose. T-Rex is 11 inches tall and21 inches from nose to tail, with textured, flexible brown rubber skinthat bends and moves. The controller is shaped like a stone with twobone-shaped joysticks to control the dinosaur's walking and turning.Buttons on the side of the controller make T-Rex move his head and frontfeet, snap his jaws, roar, and blink his eyes. The controller slidesopen in the middle for use, and you have to be careful not to pinch yourfingers when you snap it shut. T-Rex requires a total of six AAbatteries, two for the controller and four inside the dinosaur, and thebattery compartment inside the T-Rex is rather difficult to access.Despite these small drawbacks, this dino is one cool dude that willthrill any kid in the midst of the inevitable dinosaur phase. -- Marcie Bovetz ... This toy is the best! Worth your money!
My favorite dinosaur is the Tyrannosaurus Rex, so i bought it. The toy is completely reilistic! It has everything you wish for in a R/C toy! It's head is very great and reilistic and it's sounds are too! But be careful. After about 3 or 2 years, i was playing with the toy when suddenly it's ankle snapped in half. My mom can't get it back together again. So be careful about bagnning this toy around like a doll. If you do it's going to breck soon. But if you don't, it lasts for about 3 or 4 years. But since my birthday's coming up in 3 weeks, my mom is going to buy another one! I thank Jesus for this wonderful toy! :)

T-Rex is pretty cool, but winds up in the closet anyway.
I had high expectations for this bad boy, but let me give you the pros and cons:

    Pros:

Mobility, coupled with an array of growls, roars and twitches, will keep your attention for a short while. I do give the creators credit for a sincere effort at realism, however...

    Cons:

The clawlike arms are not mechanized, and just hang there.
There is a loud clicking sound (gears?) as he moves his head.
Although the legs move, the tail is stiff and non-functional (tags along on non-powered wheels protruding from below).
The big guy has trouble negotiating anything other than smooth, flat surfaces.

Basically, I think the problem with toys such as this, is simply the lack of child interaction. After a short time, the novelty wears off, and junior goes scurrying back to the lego blocks. I also purchased a very well-conceived E.T. figure for my 5-yr. old son (4 at the time). The vocal effects were excellent, but like Mr. T-Rex, he was soon gathering dust in a box in the closet.

Bottom-line: Child interaction is priority #1. A good jigsaw puzzle will beat the heck out of fancy, mechanized toys. Fool me twice - shame on me.

Very poor quality, cheap mechanical parts, VERY disappointed
I orded this toy for my son's main Christmas present. I put the batteries in and tried it out. Half of the functions didn't even work. I returned it for a replacement. (Very easy and convienent return policy!) When I got the 2nd one a few days later, all of the buttons worked, but the gears and mechanics where of HORRIBLE quality and very cheaply put together. The gears would miss and get stuck on some of the funtions and it would just jerk around. The gears are incredibly LOUD! It constantly made a VERY loud high pitched screeching noise as it's head moved around. This toy is a neat idea, but just too cheaply made. After trying out 2 separate dinos, I recomend you pass this one up and find a different toy for your kiddos.

    Battery waste
This toy eats batteries. If you leave the dinosaur on, which is relatively easy to do, when you are not using this toy, the batteries run down. Over night! The first one we got of this toy broke within 24 hours and was replaced. The second one got played with a few times and then left in a closet. My son is not too interested in it because every time he takes it out to play with it, the batteries are, inevitably, dead. Not very child friendly.

does not live up to expectations
I gave this item to my nephew for his birthday. He played with it once. It did not do half of the stuff it was supposed to be able to do. It had new batteries and the things that did work, quit working while he was playing with it. I was very dissatisfied with this product... ... Read more

I bought this for my girlfriends 21st birthday, and she loves it. It's almost as big as she is, and it takes up most of her dorm room bed, but she's happy, so i'm happy.

    Happy Dad
I bought this for my daughter on her 4th birthday and she love's it, she try's to carry it around with her but it's just too big for her to carry, she look's so cute when she does carry it around, I want to get my wife one soon, she's loves stuffed animal

    A Great Gift
My older cousin bought this for her toddler-aged daughter for Christmas and she LOVED it to death!! All day she was dragging it around the house (or at least doing her best) or climbing all over it. It is very durable and great for younger kids who can occasionally "throw" their toys at walls and people, because it is too big for young children to easily pick up. It would be a great gift for girls of any age, even my teenaged cousin thought it was sooo cute!!

    For kids of all ages
Got this as a last resort for my 2 1/2 year old neice for Christmas -- she adores it as did her brothers and sisters ages 6 - 12. Just for smiles alone, this is a winner. And, I have to admit snuggling with it a bit myself before the wrapping!

    Sweet
I got this for Christmas, only it was brown instead of pink. My parents are always asking if the can lay on it. It's extremely soft and it's so comfy! I lay on it whenever I'm playing video games. Interesting, isn't it (sarcasm). Oh, and before I got it I thought the paws were attached, and just to let you know they're not. I reccomend this a lot!!!!!!!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars U. Milton's Ant Farm a fun way to learn about Toil & Death
Uncle Milton's Giant Ant Farm is a fun, interactive way to teach children ages 5 and up about unceasing, backbreaking toil and the cold, inescapable reality of death. My little ones had a front-row seat as worker ants labored, day in and day out, until they inevitably died of exhaustion, their futile efforts all for naught. The ant farm, complete with stackable tiny ant barns, see-through 'Antway' travel tubes, and connecting 'Antports,' is a child's window into the years of thankless, grueling labor that await them as worker drones in our post-industrial society. It's the fun way to teach your kids to accept their miserable fate stoically. The ants, which come separately from the farm, are bred in New Mexico and mailed directly to your home. Within days of arriving, a majority of the ants die at the hands of the small children responsible for regulating the temperature, humidity, and food supply in their delicate pseudo-ecosystem. Even under optimum conditions the ants survive no more than 20 weeks in the farm. As a result, children are assured the chance to contemplate the inescapability of their own mortality and the whole family will be reminded that the spectre of death hangs over every creature on this Earth. The lesson that the ants' labor is all in vain becomes clearer as time passes. During the first two to three weeks, the exclusively female worker ants are extremely productive, building an elaborate system of tunnels and hills amongst the miniature green trees and red plastic houses dotting the interior of the plastic dome. However, because neither male ants nor a fertile queen is provided with Uncle Milton's Giant Ant Farm, making reproduction impossible, the farm is doomed to extinction from day one. You'll learn such fascinating things about the natural world, like the fact that the social structure of an ant colony is extremely complex, with individual members occupying such castes as soldier, messenger, and larvae attendant. At some point, Uncle Milton's ants become cognizant that their hierarchical structure has been stripped away, rendering their already near-meaningless existence totally futile. There seems to be a breaking point at about the 22-day mark when the dejected ants begin to die off en masse. At this point the ant farm enters what is known as the "death-pile phase." A spot is chosen by the worker ants to deposit their dead, and the burial mound steadily grows as the few remaining ants devote more of their time to gathering and burying others. Yes, with Uncle Milton's Giant Ant Farm, arbeit macht fun!

    Extremely Interesting
Really neat to see ants run through tunnels, have meetings, and dig. They can really work hard! Very durable, but carefull not to scratch it. All in all, a fun pet.

    It's just an ant farm
You guys are creeping me out - especially the angst or guilt ridden one who feels that ant farms teach children the futility of life in general. My god!! I can only hope that you did this tongue in cheek, otherwise - I feel sorry for your kids and I think you need to take some Prozac!! Thanks for all this helpful information (and yes, I'm being sarcastic!!)

    Whats up with the liberal
Boy you Liberals need to take it easy and have some fun. Warning, your child will also become a LIBERAL if: 1]You don't buy him a BB gun 2]you don't get him a mini bike 3]you don't buy him a hatchet and chop a tree down (a tree is a renewable resorce) and 4]Make sure he has been spanked when disciplined, this will make him aggressive, last thing you need is an uncompetitive whimpy, whiny, LIBERAL as a son. OH, and buy him an ant farm, even let him kill the ants himself.

    Great concept, mediocre implementation
The Ant Farm is a wonderful educational toy, but the quality is disappointing as other reviewers have said. The plastic has rough, unattractive edges from manufacture, and the bottom is not perfectly flat, so it can wobble a little bit. None of this will matter to my nephews, but certainly the manufacturer should do a better job. ... Read more

    Amazon.com Review

The Game Boy platform (which includes the original unit, the Game Boy Pocket, and the Game Boy Color) came to market when most video game consoles had a life expectancy of just a few years. More than a decade later, the system is still going strong. How did the Game Boy successfully compete--and in some cases bury--an onslaught of faster, more powerful handheld and home console systems? Let us count the ways: affordability, a huge library of games that consistently made the most of the hardware's limitations, smart power management that extended battery life, and uncluttered controls. But perhaps it was the system's ultraportable design, which allowed devotees to play video games around their schedules, making it the must-have system for kids and adults alike.

Now the Game Boy Advance (or GBA as its already being called) comes to us with power that would have been unthinkable back in the day. The portable's 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former's 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying beeps and boops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitized stereo sound. The extra processing muscle also means you can network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun on one shared cartridge. Only two Game Boy Color units could link together, and each unit had to have a copy of the game.

What's not being replaced, however, is the wide selection of Game Boy games. Since the Game Boy Advance system is backward compatible, it will play its own line of colorful games--like such launch titles as Super Mario Advance, F-Zero: Maximum Velocity, Army Men Advance, High Heat Major League Baseball 2002, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and Ready 2 Rumble Boxing: Round 2--as well as all the monochrome and color games that have already been released for the previous Game Boy systems (nearly 500 of them in total). Players can view the older games in their smaller, originally square dimensions or, with the touch of the shoulder button, expand the game to fit the GBA's larger screen. We tried enlarging the screen on a Game Boy Color edition of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and found that Mr. Hawk was much easier to see.

When you first pick up the system, you'll wonder how they got it to be so incredibly lightweight. At a little less than 5 ounces and a little larger than a deck of playing cards, the system easily fits into a shirt pocket without any sag. The GBA's wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands. The former design too often pushed the left and right thumb knuckles together during game play. The new layout should be comfortable for all ages, and the center screen orientation makes it easy to see.

Game Boy Color owners will find the GBA's larger screen somewhat darker than they're used to, but that's because the screen is outfitted with antiglare technology. Like the old Game Boy Color, the color LCD is not backlit, so you need pretty good light to play by. Unlike that system, though, you won't be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the hot-spot reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

But you'll also notice the graphics. Sporting what's basically a redesigned SNES technology, you'll see things on the GBA that the big consoles do, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects--technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to throwing a touchdown pass to crawling through a dungeon.

Some might argue that Nintendo could have tried to put even more power into this Game Boy Advance. After all, the 32-bit video game had its heyday more than five years ago. Perhaps, but after handling this new handheld, we're inclined to think that Nintendo wisely struck a balance between size, price, and power consumption. And considering how well the old 8-bit system weathered the decade's technological storms, we think the Game Boy Advance is here to stay, and we're glad. --Porter B. Hall

    5-0 out of 5 stars Handheld Mania...in 32-bit
This handheld system is the latest in handheld technology. It is 32-bit, with a 50% wider screen, stereo sound, 15 more hours of battery life, TWO Left and Right 'shoulder' buttons, four player linked games, NINTENDO GAMECUBE hookup, and more. And this system features an extensive list of game that you can play. You can play games from the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color games and is the only system compatable with Game Boy Advance Games, hence the name.

The Games that are out, and shall be coming out for this system are amazing. Take Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for instence: this game is th first 3-D handheld game, and its from the top selling Tony Hawk series. You skate around the 3-dimensional skate parks trying to improve your rider, complete goal, unlock new skate parks and skaters, and also, if your good enough, unlocking cheats!

Another game is Mario Kart: Super Curcuit. You can reace at over 20 brand new tracks in three differant engine speeds. If you race well, you unlock 20 more tracks, all of which are form the hit game, Super Mario Kart for the Super NES system of yesteryear. You can be all of the racer from the Mario Kart 64 game. Racers include: Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey-Kong, and Bowser.

And more games are coming out all the time for this system. Some games that are coming out are: Mech Platoon: a Game Boy Advance version of Mech Commander; it's a Real-Time Stratagy game. And the new Army Men Game, which, like the early computer versions of Army Men (if you remember those) is an isometric/3-D style of a game with Army Men.

With all this stuff for the GBA, why wouldn't you buy one (unless you don't like handhelds). It makes for the perfect holiday gift. So click on that button at the top of the page and order one TODAY ....

5-0 out of 5 stars The only handheld in the world worth playing!
First off, I would like to say this is the absolute best handheld video game system ever. Nintendo has done a great job putting impressive technology into a small package once again. I love the new features over the game boy color, including the much larger screen and better graphics, the addition of should buttons, and the power indication LED changes from green to red when the battery gets low. Also, it is backwards compatible, meaning it can play older game boy/color cartridges too. The graphics are simply amazing. Some games look better than SNES. There are very few things that I don't like, but they take no fun out of the gaming experience. The screen should have been backlit, because most add-on light accessories produce a terrible glare on the screen. My other subtle complaint is that the older game boy color and game boy cartridges stick out of the back of the unit a little bit. Overall this is a very great little gaming system perfect for any age.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Game Boy Color was a joke, this is the real next step.
I've had this GBA for a few years now, and I'm glad I got it. Though you are better off getting the SP model since it has a backlit screen and rechargeable battery, this basic model is nice too. It runs on 2 AA batteries, and doesn't drain them (regardless of brand) as bad as the Game Boy Color did.

What you're getting is basically a handheld SNES/PSone. The GBA has mighty fine graphics for such a tiny system, just check out Iridon 3D. It's a terrible game, but has fantastic graphics (especially for a launch title). And the widescreen helps in some cases. When playing GB/GBC games on it, just tap the 'L' button and you'll go from fullscreen to widescreen. But a really cool feature is that all GBA games are compatible with all GBA systems. You can import x game from x country, and it'll play on your system. Go buy the Japanese release of Bubble Bobble for it and go nuts.

There are a lot of good games you should go for:

    -Sonic Advance 1-3
    -Super Mario Bros. Advance 1-4
    -Metroid Fusion
    -MegaMan Zero
    -Donkey Kong Country
-The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    -Breath of Fire 1+2
    -Advance Wars
    -any of the Pokemon games
    -Boktai
    -Wario Ware
-Golden Sun (only for rpg virgins though. Read my review of that for the full story)
    -Klonoa: Empire of Dreams
    -Spyro the Dragon
    -Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land
    -MegaMan and Bass
-MegaMan Anniversary Collection (all the old GB MegaMan games)
    -Mario Kart Super Circuit
    -any of the 3 Castlevanias

The reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because most of the "must have" games are just ports from other systems. All the Marios, Zeldas, Donkey Kong Country, etc. have been done before. The GBA needs more exclusive games that are of the same quality as the ones I mentioned. Mario & Donkey Kong doesn't really set the standard for what Nintendo was once known for.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this nifty little system. Anyone who knows anything about gaming knows that the Game Boy incarnations have always done well and provided countless hours of entertainment. But you could do a heck of a lot worse than a pink GBA. Though for some reason, Amazon doesn't seem to have any in stock. Is it discontinued now? Oh well, you're bound to find pleanty at just about any store that carries gaming goods.

4-0 out of 5 stars Game Boy Advance is Awesome!
I like playing my gameboy advance but not in the dark because it is too hard to see. Some gameboy advance have extra lights on them. You should get the extra light! Playing Ninja Turtles is awesome on gmaeboy advance!

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun but dark
Purchased for my daughter as gift. It is very comfortable, lightweight and well made. I highly recommend purchasing a wormlight for this item. The screen requires a lot of light, you are unable to see the game screen in a low light area or it can even give off a glare making it impossible to see the screen. Wormlights are cheap, no big deal! An economical and easy way to play your Nintendo on the road. ... Read more

A great toy for your little man!
We bought this wooden construction set together with my 4 year old son. This is the only toy out of the whole store that he wanted. It is a bit pricey, but very durable and worth the money. With time you can add the extension tracks and more vagons. My son did not want to leave the house for 3 days, just wanted to play with his train set. I like the wooden sturdy parts and magnetic parts are very cool. Like the previous reviewer mentioned, you have to follow the diagram in the manual exactly, or you will come short of parts. If your son loves the trains, he will definately love this toy from Imaginarium!

    false representation
This set does NOT include nearly enough pieces to construct the pictured
train set. There are appr. nine pieces missing. Nowhere in the fine print is it stated that you need to buy additional track to construct the pictured set.

    He Loves It!
We bought this toy for our 2 year old grandson and it immediately became his favorite toy. He is really getting into imaginative play now which the train set encourages. He also likes to put the track together himself...it's like a puzzle for him. The only problem is that there are small pieces so we don't let him play with it without close supervision. I can't wait to add to the set!

    great fun
We love this toy. My 2 year old loves it and is learning how to put the tracks together. It is very easy to assemble and make various shaped tracks with. It is very durable and plenty of fun, even for the adults that are just "helping" (or should I say playing). I have more fun just seeing which way I can put it together next. We plan on purchasing additional track to extend the fun. The tracks stay together great.

    3-year old son loves it!
Received this as a gift and my son loves it! Only thing is to get the track to look like the picture you have to put it together EXACTLY like it looks on the box - no variation! Hope to add some extra track and see if we can have some more options. ... Read more

We got this metal detector through this website. It came without any damage and works perfectly. We got it for our sons 7th birthday and he loves it. Whether it's nuts, bolts, drill bits or tin foil he still calls it treasure because he found it. So far we figured out that it detects about 5" in depth, believe it or not. I have even used it and I even love it!LOL! This is a great investment for a child that is really curious about treasure and adventure. Great for the price!!! Highly recomended for children between 5 through 12. Five Stars all the way!!! Thanks toys-r-us and amazon!!!!

It broke soon after Santa delivered it...
My son was so thrilled with this present on Christmas morning, "All of my dreams came true!!" and it worked pretty well, for about an hour. The unit wasn't mishandled, it simply stopped working (it was a constant "beeeeep" as if it were detecting metal everywhere). Too bad we had to ship it back to the north pole.

    Best Christmas Purchase!!!
This is the best buy I found at Christmas. My son loves exploring with his metal detector. It's sensitive, sturdy, fun, and didn't cost much--a great purchase! He's thrilled--I'm thrilled!

    Entertaining and Educational
We purcheased this item for my son for his 5th birthday. Works great everywhere. It has been used at the beach, in the backyard, and even in the house. He hasn't found anything valuable yet but he doesn't care. Finding those old buried nails in the backyard was just fine with him(they were buried pretty deep too.). He never forgets it and is always playing with it. He pretends he's Bob the builder looking for buried cable. Then he's a pirate looking for buried treasure. He's even been a spy-explorer. The best part is he actually finds things. It has also come in handy when I dropped an earring in the backyard. I would recommend this for the adventurer in your home. ... Read more
