save your money!!
I bought this for my 4 1/2 son for christmas. I tried it once and it broke and couldn't get the mold to work. I don't recommend it.

do not buy this toy
This toy was hard to get together. You couldn't tell when the mold was full. There was no timer, so it made it hard to know when to pour the molding sticks. Very poorly done.

Another rocket science invention (!) from RoseArt.
When my son saw this on TV it looked pretty impressive. Unfortunately, the car factory is a DISASTER! The first car was a success - no mess, easy clean-up. The problem is, the first car color is still in the glue-gun portion of the machine and upon insertion of the next color, you will have a psychedelic looking car. Cool - if that's what you wanted, but not cool when you want solid colors! You have to "trick" the machine into oozing out the rest of the color from the previous car.

Then there's the fun part of the color stick oozing out all over the place, sending scalding hot stickiness from the top of the glue machine like some wild volcano. Lo and behold, if you don't clean up the glue before it solidifies, (yes, ouch!) you jam up the machine and you'll be picking at it for hours. The "oozing" problem obviously means something is blocking the entrance to the mold at the bottom of the glue gun... but when you can't see anything blocking it, why then, does it continue to malfunction????

Long story short, it made 4 nice cars and one HUGE disappointing mess. We wasted 3 of the 8 sticks, used 3 successfully and now my son has 2 "drum sticks" to fool with!

I successfully contacted RoseArt about this problem and they offered a $9.99 plus shipping refund. At least there is some recourse.

This toy DOES EXACTLY what it says - and it's FUN!
I bought this toy for my 5 year old son and it works great. In reviewing the negative comments from other reviewers I can only say that if you didn't follow the directions correctly you can of course expect problems. The melted plastic will only "ooze" if you don't have the mold positioned in the "up" position. My only negative was that it only came with 4 chassis. You can make 2 cars with each color stick and it came with 4 sticks. Follow the directions and don't be in a hurry. ITS A GREAT TOY!

Use metal
The toy seemed like a good idea-teach about molding, thermoplastics, make your own and all, but while my son was pumping on the first car, gently while I was supervising, the handle broke!!.I called up the manufacturer as the insttructions say, and was told that I could return it for a refund of $... It cost me more that!.Typical os many Hot Wheel products-built like junk, out of junk, functions like junk, lasts like junk! ... Read more

Editorial Review

Encourage proper bicycle safety by presenting your child with this bicycle safety kit with a Hot Wheels theme. The kit includes a helmet, a 12-ounce water bottle, and a collectible monster truck--all in black with the signature Hot Wheels flame graphics. The helmet’s interior liner is made of EPS foam, which absorbs the maximum impact in the event of a fall, and an external plastic microshell. For comfort, the helmet has a total of 11 cooling vents on its top and back. The bicycle helmet fits heads that are between 20-1/4 and 22 inches in diameter and complies with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s standards for riders ages 5 and older. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Not a great fit!!!
Okay, first I want to say why I gave the low stars on the fun value. I think that the helmet itself is not fun, riding the bike is. Now, about the helmet...my 4 year old son loved this helmet, he helped me pick it out, but he didn't try it on AT THE STORE. THAT WAS OUR FIRST MISTAKE! He thought it was so neat that it came with a monster truck and a water bottle. The flames looked so cool etc. But when we got it home, and actually tried fitting it to his head so he could ride, there was a problem. This helmet just never fit right, I just could not get the straps to stop slipping through the plastic guards at the sides near the ear, the adjustments were hard to get right. When they slipped, this helmet became wiggly on his head. IT NEVER STAYED IN THE POSITION I PUT IT IN! I was always making him stand still so I could adjust it AGAIN! I tried the larger cushions included etc. But it was just no use.... Besides the fit situation with the hot wheels one, the little monster truck is kinda cheapy too, broke real soon, and was a disappointment as well. Cool idea, but Hot Wheels ought to stick to making toy cars...not bicycle safety gear.

Great helmet, not a great deal.
My son loves the helmet, fits well (I had to change to the thicker pads for my 4.5 year old son and his 20.5 inch head but it was easy) and he loved the fact that he got the water bottle and the car. If you don't like to go shop OK deal, if you don't mind going out, no reason to get this here. ... Read more

Great toy.
Im a Crash Dummie raised kid, it was my favorite toy from 1992, i waited 12 years for this toy to come back, and now it has. Im 17, the first thing i did was buy this car and the blue skateboarder. Very fun, i liked the original dummie style more, but i hope they develope them more, and get more figres for the market. Also i was suprised to see no names on the Dummies, they are on the box, but not the dummy. It was always cool having Slick and Spin.

17 years old and i played with this for 3 hours, and just stopped to see what else i could order. If you liked the original, you WILL like this one.

Crash is the best
They are fun in lots of ways. The educational value is to show you to always wear a seat belt. It is funny to watch him pop apart when he hits the ground or wall. I think he is the best because he has the most action. Unlike crunch who only loses his head. ... Read more

Almost Great Batmobile 1:18 scale Batmobile.
I think this model looks great. I like the weight and feel of it. The price seems a bit high, however it has satisfied my needs for a batmobile model. The only real dissapointment is that the guns rotate up and are positioned very poorly, they could have easily been angled to fire above the front fenders rather than into it. I had hoped that my figure from the first movie would look good next to it but the car is too small. It is packaged in a simple box with no information. The car is attached to a large plastic platform with three easy to remove screws, the wheels and car float slightly above the platform which is plain with no logo.

The main body is a very heavy diecast. Everything else is plastic. The hubcaps, the engine parts front and back, the vented rear engine cover, side air intakes, the canopy, the underside and the railguns. The wheels are a very hard rubber.
"The front head lights are orange with two large locator pins in each lens that are painfully evident. The 4 tailights also suffer from black hole locator pins that are 1/2 the diameter of the lenses themselves. Two other major external features were virtually passed over. The huge roof intake is blocked out and the rear quarter porthole windows are only round detents in the metal."

Operational features
"The canopy slides forward on an overscaled slot in the hood to reveal an interior that totally underwhelms." It is all plastic with shift levers and a working round steering wheel. The control panels are two dimensional stickers. The front jet engine intake slides out about an inch.
"The only other feature is the two fender panels that rotate to reveal a preposterous pair of Browning M2 .50 calibre aircraft machine guns that are molded with solid barrels, aligned so that if fired, they'd rip through the front fenders. Bolt operated, it's hard to figure out how these things could be remotely operated. They're belt fed and I don't think anyone thought about where exactly the magazines would be when the guns are fixed to the underside of the exterior panel."

(...)

This is it!
This is the by far the best detailed 1989 batmobile toy ever made(easily surpassing Richman's Toys Remote Control Batmobile).
- Sliding Canopy
- Working Steering Wheels
- Hidden machine guns
- Slide out jet turbine engine.

Everyone should get this if you're a remote fan of the 1989 batmobile.

(...)

Excellent replica!
(...) some extra info:

Engine comes out buy pulling on the front. It does not remove from the car. It just comes out about a 2 inches.

Rail gun pops out by applying slight pressure to each side of the panels that hide the guns.

When you turn the wheels, the steering wheel turns too.

Indeed a very cool replica. With Star Wars replicas selling for hundreds of dollars, this is a clear example of how replicas should be made and priced.

best batmobile eva!
The defnitive batmobile from the keaton era. diecast, sliding canopy, hidden rail guns and above all that, the engine pulls out! no regrets after getting one. ... Read more

Crash is the best crash dummy yet
The price was pretty high, and I did'nt think it was worth it. That was then. The crash dummies are really fun, you should buy this one. He isn't durable, but he's not supposed to be. He falls into 6 pieces ON PURPOSE! You have to hit the button pretty hard, and he's a little hard to put together for a while, but he'll still keep kids occupied. ... Read more

Mom of a car lover
My three year old loves all these cars. He takes them everywhere. Not sure I can give more stars to education - not sure what they can do educationally

hot wheels are the [stuff]
i highly recommend this gift to anyone into hotwheels if it wasnt for my godson i would have kept it for myself i think this kids gonna [be very happy] when he unwraps this gift because he loves hot wheels hes going to be 2 years old and he can already tell real hotwheels for [look alike] matchbox cars and other nockoff brand hot wheels is the original and people should only buy hotwheels because any other brand is [not as good]

Hot Wheels are cool for all ages !!!
Hey I am 21 years old and still collect and play with Hot Wheel cars. I have a huge collection of un opened cars but also I have a huge track set up in my shop where I spend most of my time playing with my opened cars when not working. I am always on the look out for new cars I have not got in my collection and I love your new 20 pack of cars. It Is a lot of super cars for only a great low price of under $25 Bucks that makes them a super steal for any age I already have 1 and plan to buy 2 more for myself and a few extra will make super Duper Christmas gifts for family and friends.I think Hot Wheels are for all ages because at times my dad breaks out his 1965 collection for some serious 1 on 1 competion on the track and he usually rocks. Hot Wheels are cool toys for all ages and I have seen many older people break out their child hood memories to play and play as they were kids in their earlier years having a lot of fun. Hot Wheels brings out the Kid in all of us I think That is why they are so cool !! GO HOT WHEELS!!!!

Classic, traditional, yet modern and sturdy
It might seem as if 20 cars is too much at once.

Days as a five year old were best filled with playing in complete abandon. The freedom proffered by youth needed only a few toys to complete the ever-present joy. A few toys which mattered included several tattered but friendly books, a truck or two, an odd shovel and bucket, and, the coup de grace, a Hot Wheels car. Mattel makes a track as well, but a well-made car could take a boy places. This set of 20 is what kindergartners drool over.

A boy has everything in this set: vehicles of all colors, a few truck varieties, some funny looking cars. There are plenty, and frankly, since a few will invariably wind up lost under the couch, eaten by the dog, and buried with other treasures in the garden, having 20 quickly becomes justified.

Why a Hot Wheels car? Because they are made with hard steel. They are painted with a slick color. They hold up to frequent tastings, sand grindings, dirt smearings and other nonsense that comes with power racing in a sandbox. Sticky chocolate wipes off with warm water, and grime comes out with a good spray under the faucet.

The wheels themselves have a bounce peculiar to a genuine Hot Wheels vehicle. That's how my brother and I made sure it had adequate fuel. Ten bounces should be enough, we figured, and usually, we were right.

I fully recommend the "Hot Wheels 20-Car Gift Pack."
