Editorial Review

Be it a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away or right here at home in the 21st century, Mr. Potato Head never fails to reinvent himself. For generations this spectacular spud has wowed us all with his ability to keep up with the times. Now he throws us all for a loop once again to reveal that even he has a Dark Side, taking up the role of the most menacing movie villains of all times: Darth Vader. Donning the trademark black helmet, mask and cape, our favorite tuber wields the infamous red lightsaber to become his own Darth Tater. Of course you’ll still find all the classic accessories like the googly eyes, red nose, and silly tongue we’ve come to love but now with an added twist of Star Wars. As always, all the pieces still fit away inside his body for easy storage.--Chip Quinn ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Together they shall rule as father and spud...
At 42 years of age, I never thought I would find myself seeking out a Mr. Potato Head. But one look at Darth Tater and I was gone. Darth Tater now has his place on my desk at a respected law firm, but rarely can someone enter my office without playing with him.He sits on my desk, glaring menacingly out the office door at all those who dare to pass by.Generally, once he is spotted perched on his corner of my desk, he is greeted with a smile and his light saber arm is raised up and down.OK, so one coworker called me a dork, but that's OK.She's young and has much to learn.....My advice?Get Darth Tater if you can!!

5-0 out of 5 stars REVENGE OF THE TATOR!
This is great toy...I always loved Mr. Potato Head & now Darth Tator is my new favorite toy!

Make sure you get your hands on this one while you still can, I know they still have them in stock at other sites.

Oh & one more thing in reference to the guy from Lodi who openly admitted he hates Star Wars...its a shame that he owns one of the Tators & I hope his Tator seeks his revenge & breaks!

5-0 out of 5 stars I taterly love this toy
my teacher brought this in to school and he isnt even a star wars fan. when i saw it and read the darth tater name i thought it was hilarious and got one myself and i hate starwars i just love darth tater tho

4-0 out of 5 stars Sure to be a mashing success with "Star Wars" fans...
Okay, I really wish I had come up with "Use the Forks, Luke" first, because no one is going to be able to top that one when it comes to the Mr. Potato Head Darth Tater. But I bet you cannot stop at just one when it comes to riffing on this idea (e.g., Luke and Leia are now Darth Tater Tots and the story takes place "in a grocers far, far away").Not since somebody decided to dress up Barbie in costumes from famous movies has a childhood icon benefited from a commercial tie in to a major motion picture. But not even Barbie as Eliza Doolittle from "My Fair Lady" comes close to the high level of Midi-Cuteians with this toy.

In addition to the "Potato" with it storage space in the back, Mr. Potato Head Darth Tater comes with helmet, mask, cape, feet, arms (right one holding a light saber), eyes, nose, mouth, tongue, and two ears. The mask makes the nose, mouth and tongue incompatible (the mouth and tongue are either/or choices to begin with).Consequently, you can experiment with other looks besides the obvious: lose the mask and cape, put a face together, and the result is pretty cute.Of course, everything works just as well on a real potato for those of you who want to go real Old School on this one.

If the words Mr. Potato Head Darth Tater does not sell you then the picture of this toy has got to seal the deal. There are obviously limited opportunities for companion Potato Heads in this series.Princess Leia's original cinnamon hair buns would work, as would Yoda (albiet with a green potato), but neither of those is ever going to be as cute as this one unless they use some sort of Jedi mind trick. That is because the farce is strong with this one...

5-0 out of 5 stars I LOVE DARTH TATER!
This is the coolest thing ever!He sits on my desk and watches me with those glaring eyes.He sometimes uses the force to manipulate me.Someone please help me!You are my only hope! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A big hit at our house
At first we had trouble getting this disc to play but after doing some research, we did the "scotchtape trick" and we haven't had any problems since.

Our kids LOVE this game - it's easy enough for our 4 year old and still exciting enough for our 10 year old. They like using the Force on objects and slapping silly moustaches on the Princess. They also enjoy changing characters in the Free Play mode.

This game combines the excitement of Star Wars with the kid-friendliness of Legos and results in hours of good clean fun.

4-0 out of 5 stars good game
I think this is a good game, but it is way to short. I got the vader level in 5 hours and thats how long I played. It did have multyplayer though which made me play with freinds. The best part of the game is the humor and the amount of lego people you can be. like General Grivious and even a droideka. All in all it is beter than the movie game. So buy this one first.

4-0 out of 5 stars A suprisingly excellent game
Star Wars is one of the greatest movie sagas of all time.Period.You can't deny it.It's part of culture. So are those disturbingly fun Lego toys.So it's a good thing that someone in the videogame world decided to team these two enormously popular brand names together to create a suprisingly good game thats fun for all ages.

As you probably guessed from the title, the star charachters in Lego Star Wars are those adorable little lego charachters, who look like thier counterparts from the movie. We have lots of the first trilogy charachters set here in lego form.Obi-wan, qui-gon, Watto, Sebulba, Count Dooku, Yoda, the battle droids, General grievious (cool!), and almost anyone else you can think of.Even kit fitso (the tentacled guy who smiled in the area battle in episode 2) is in here, in lego form.My favorite charachters? The wookies. They're just so damn cute and cuddly!

The gameplay in Lego Star wars is incredibly simple. You can run, jump, attack, use the force, and thats it.Nothing to it.So simple a child can do it (which is the point!).I really have no complaints or issues here.

Because this game is based on the first three movies in the star wars saga, you play through the biggest scenes from the movies. In episode 1, you escape the federation ship, leave Theed, podrace, return to Theed and fight Darth maul.Episode 2 (which is the shortest section of the game), has you going to Kamino, going through the droid factories, the arena, a gunship, and fighting Count Dooku.Episode 3 is the longest, putting you in many situations from the movie, including the explosive ending battle on Mustafar.

There are many amazing moments within these levels. The big one on one fights are cool, and the scale of some of the battles is amazing (the Kashyyk beach landing comes to mind). One absaloutly amazing moment is the first level of episode 3, where you are piloting a space fighter in the middle of the biggest space battle in star wars history.Though it's a rail shooter (you go on a certian path while things happen around you), it's an incredible level, with things blowing up and fighters engaging one another. At one point you blow a seperatist ship in half!

The graphics here are pretty good. Not too bad, not too good. They simply get the job done, but they look good at the same time. Some levels are amazing to look at, but i'll let you see them for yourself.

The sound is equally good as well.John Williams brilliant musical score is present, and it's still as good as ever. The charachters don't talk, but they do squeak, groan, grunt, shout, or say other things (the droids say "roger roger" and "Uh-oh!".Jar Jar says "Ahh!" upon being blown up).

There's almost no violence in this game, which makes it great for kids. When charachters are defeated, they simply explode into tiny lego pieces. If your charachter is destroyed, they simply come back in a few seconds. There are some lego limbs cut off (hands, legs, etc), but there is never any blood or screaming.Even when charachters die, they simply have little "X"'s for eyes.

I also liked the games sense of humor. While I don't really want to give anything away, there were many moments where I was giggling like mad at a paticularly funny joke or gag.I love how the clone troopers just waddle away as they jog around a level.Rest assured that this is one game that doesn't take itself so seriously.

When you finish the main part of the game, you can then get to work getting all the extras.By collecting studs (the game's version of currency), you can buy new charachters, cheats (such as the enormously expensive invincibility), and fun stuff (such as replacing lightsabers with broomsticks).Overall, there's quite a good amount of replay value here. And let's face it, unlocking new charachters adds to some pretty wacky "what if" combinations, such as Darth maul and Chewbacca teaming up to defeat Count Dooku in episode 3.

Unfortunitly, there is one big problem with Lego Star Wars, which keeps it from getting a five star rating. It's simplicity.Whiel its simple gameplay is nice, it eventually makes it very repetative. You do the same things over and over and over again. No matter what charachters you play as, no matter what level, its all the same in the end.Because of this, i've found that the best way to play the game is in short bursts, maybe an hour or so.

The game is also quite short.I completed all the levels in less then two hours on my first go!It's not a gigantic problem, but it is questionable.

But aside from that, this is a really fun game that i'm definitly going to buy.Though it's a kids game, the fun and simplicity makes it a great game for all ages.Highly recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST GAME EVER!!!
THIS GAME AWSOME!!! IT IS THE BEST GAME I EVER PLAYED!! I think that this game was better than Lego Star Wars(I played Revenge of the Sith and Lego Star Wars)! So if you have a hard time decideing for Lego Star Wars and the Rvenge of the Sith game, I sujest the Revenge of the Sith game! And this game is not short.

5-0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT
My son and I love this game.It is our favorite. He's young, 3 1/2, but he can do most of the stuff after a bit of practice. We couldn't wait to get Darth Vader.I wish it didn't have to end.Hopefully LEGO will come out with another quality game like this. We're hooked!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars clone turbo tank
this thing is one of my top five favorite legos!!! my#1 is the complete death star(it took me 3 weeks!). #2 is the milleniem falcon.#3 is the clone turbo tank. #4 is the temple of doom.#5 is a destroyer ship.

5-0 out of 5 stars TURBO TANK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awsome i bought this yesterday it took me 3hours to bild but it was fun. it comes with mace windu with light up lightsaber,4 clone troopers,2 drouds,1 turrent, and the tank of course. BUY this its worth every penny

5-0 out of 5 stars This is the best lego ever
This is the coolest lego ever in my opinion. This is a huge vehicle and can crush about anything. It comes with 1 aerial trooper which is a clone with a jet pack, a regular clone that can look out with his binoculars, a comander with a desert shoulder cloth thing and 2 pistols and he is covered with a yellow stripe, and a green scout trooper, I guess for camouflage, 2 battle droids with blasters, and mace windo the jedi knight with light up lightsaber. I personally like the old lightsabers better, because mace windo cant move his arm or hand. And it come with a speeder bike for the scout trooper, also with a very cool turret. The whole tank has lasers and blasters on it. A bunch of sides open up to put the guys. Last but not least are the wheels that change position to go with the terrain. Overall this is a great lego and I advise you to buy it, because u'll have a blast making it and playing with it, a 5 out of 5.

5-0 out of 5 stars An AT-AT with Wheels
There's one number that stands out after you dump the contents of the Clone Turbo Tank out on the table: 801. Eight-hundred and one, as in, how many pieces just spilled out of the box. For those not familiar with LEGOs, well, it's probably the most LEGOs you've seen at once that have yet to become something. It's daunting and a bit mind-boggling.

That being said, once all the pieces come together (and they will, somewhere around two hours later), you'll doubtlessly be pleased: you've got yourself an AT-AT with wheels, ready to roll over Seperatists with the vanguard of the Clone Army.

The Clone Turbo Tank is oddly named; as I said before, it's an AT-AT with wheels. Perhaps somebody got tired of the pantheon of walker acronyms in the Star Wars universe (AT-ST, AT-TE, AT-AT, AAT), and said "okay, okay, enough with the acronyms!" I suppose you could call it the CTT - but don't, it's not a walker. It's a tank - a turbo tank.

The set itself is nothing short of amazing. The main set piece, the tank, is huge and trundles along with ten big wheels on four axles. The suspension is really neat, allowing the tank's body to roll on either side to nearly a 45 degree angle. I guess that's necessary for all the high-speed 'turbo' turns the tank will be making on the battlefield. The body is sturdy and covered with access plates; you can access the cockpit, the engine, the troop bay, and the rear utility area easily. The troop bay is massive - I haven't tried, but you could probably stuff ten troops in there. The cockpit has two seats, for whoever you make driver and General Veers.*

As for armament, the turbo tank has plenty. Apparently designed for wading into the midst of enemy formations, it has dual-mounted heavy blasters in the front and rear. For dealing with pesky starfighters, there's a cockpit-mounted turret and another mounted on the spine.

A unique aspect of the turbo tank is its "crow's nest", an adjustable lookout post located towards the rear. I don't know what kind of Clone Trooper would want to be up there - anyone in the lookout post is a choice target. The set comes with binoculars, so whichever clone trooper has been bad, give him the binoculars and tell him, "lookout post." He'll think twice before misbehaving in the future.

The set also comes with two other pieces of equipment - a speeder and a turret. The speeder is a nice add-on, and gives LEGO the excuse to package the BARC Trooper (a light green version of the famous Scout Trooper) with the set. The turret is reminiscent of the turrets in Empire Strikes Back, the ones that did such a very poor job of stopping the AT-ATs. Since the set's picture depicts a Battle Droid operating the turret, it's safe to say it will also do a poor job of stopping the Clone Turbo Tank.

Finally, the set includes a good variety of mini-figures. We get light-up lightsaber Mace Windu, yellow-pauldroned Clone Trooper (according to Star Wars lore, he's an officer), regular Clone Trooper, Jet Clone Trooper (this guy looks like he has the most fun of any Clone Trooper, ever), the aforementioned BARC Trooper, and the ever-inept duo of Battle Droids. My only real complaint with this set is there is no driver - obviously, anyone can sit in the cockpit, but having an AT-AT driver-style driver would have been nice.

So, if you find an AT-AT with wheels an attractive concept, swallow the $90 USD price tag and get rolling, Trooper!

* Set does not include General Veers.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best star wars episode III set
This thing is FREAKIN AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!! i got this set when it came out and it's amazing. The extra touches like the scout trooper with his speeder and commander cody are nice.Thou there are a few bad things about it like the mounted turret on the top falls off constantly and Mace Windu its nice that he comes with a light up lightsaber but that makkes him unplayable with because his head is way too loose, his hand with the lightsaber in it can't spin (...). Still even with thoes 3 problems it is still a must have for any lego star wars collecter or any lego collecter! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars :)
so I felt pretty dumb buying this game.. looks like a little kids game.. sounds like a little kids game - but I love star wars! so I bought it and brought it to school - by the end of the week 5 out of 6 people I showed it to had bought it. the lego idea is really cool - I went and saw revenge of the sith and I kept thinking about how buildings would look as legos.. but anyways. I'm not even remotely good at video games - I don't think I've ever finished a game in my life.. though i have many. I haven't finished this one yet - but I have high hopes. This isn't hard to play - when you finish levels you can go back and play through them again and with different characters that youve unlocked - which is very amusing to a star wars fan.. :)

2-0 out of 5 stars Too short and gets old FAST
I'll make this short, I BEAT THIS GAME THE SAME DAY I GOT IT. It barley covers episodes I, II and III, note how on the description it says that the game covers the most exciting and memorable scenes from all three movies? WELL THAT'S ALL THEY GIVE YOU! The day after i got it it was still kinda fun but then i played it a little more and it just got plain BORING.DON'T make the same mistake I did. I would rather save my money and buy actual legos or a different game.

4-0 out of 5 stars Legos Rock
I love this game and can't put it down. It's great that you don't really kill people, they just fall down into Lego bricks. My mom has even tried to play this game. I like using the Force the best. It's cool to switch back and forth between Anikin and R2D2 in the beginning. I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet but it's kind of challenging because there's no talking to give you hints or anything.

5-0 out of 5 stars Beware the Inch-High Jedi
This is probably the best Stars Wars game made.As far as i'm concerened, any Stars WArs game where you get to use a lightsaber is the best (there are enough games with blasters). When you turn on the game you start out in Dexters Diner, a place where you chose your level and buy characters. You get to play through episodes 1,2 and 3.
WHats good is that if you haven't seen episode 3, the game doesn't spoil that much, it gives you enouggh info so that you know what you're doing in the game, but not enough to spoil the movie. While you are travelling through the star wars universes, you collect LEGO studs, the currency of the game.At dexters diner, you can buy characters with them.YOu can also buy hints and extras, but I think they are a waste of studs. After you collected enough characters from the light side and dark side, you can go out to ddexters parking lot to wacth and join unorganized fights. They are a little easy but fun. When you collect suds you're jedi meter fills up and if you fill it up to the top you will get a piece of a special ship.TO complete fill the jedi meter in every level. You also collectt mini kit parts which you can use to make ships to put in the parking lot.If you get every ship you will unlock the games ultimate secret (sorry i don't know what it is).A good way to collect studs is to get all the mini kit pieces in a level, which will give you about 50,000 studs.Try to complete the ones in boss levels because they are small levels and pieces are easy to find.

5-0 out of 5 stars Lego StarWars- an awesome game w/ many cheats
The first few seconds i played this game, and i was hooked. Its title may make people think its a poser video game, but i say its the real deal. its also fun to beat up your partner, giving them less limbs and stuff. i rate it a 11 out of 10 because its just that good!
Also, here are a few cheats to use at dexters diner
~Ki Adi Mundi = DP55MV
~Padm`e = 92UJ7D
P.S. all the codes require lego Studs.

4-0 out of 5 stars Revenge of the Bricks
First a point of clarification: Lego Star Wars is not a game destined to go down in the annals of gaming history. It is not for the hardcore gamer. However, if you are a devoted fanboy of Star Wars, or Legos or Star Wars AND Legos, then this game will not disappoint.

First I shall talk about the many ways this game is a fanboy's delight. There is something very odd, yet astoundingly cool about seeing the Star Wars universe transformed into Legos. Every aspect of the game is tied to the bricks. When enemies (and your character) die, they shatter into lego pieces. Jedi have to use the force to build and break pieces. Every ship, building and character is built from bricks. It all works flawlessly and, thanks to good graphics, looks good too. Also, transforming the Star Wars movie into Legos adds a quirky sense of humor to the (in some people's opinions) sometimes lacking movies. Familiar scenes are fun to see skewed as Lego reimaginations. There is no dialogue, so all the little Lego guys communicate through facial expression and sound effects, and it works surprisingly well.

For the Star Wars fanboy, you are set, if anything by the sheer number of playable characters. You can unlock almost any Jedi that has been in the prequel, and tons of other characters that all look great and sometimes hilarious as Legos. I'm pretty sure this is the only Star Wars game that you can play as Darth Maul, Darth Vader and The Emperor, not to mention a Gronk Driod, three versions of Obi-Wan, Yoda and of course, R2-D2.

Gameplay wise, Lego Star Wars is a bit more complex than its look would mandate. Combat is simple, but effective. The game also has a very simple RPG feel, as you have a party of different characters that you must switch to at different times to perform different tasks. This is no Final Fantasy or KOTOR by any stretch of the imagination, but you do need to be mindful of having the right characters with you at the right times. It adds something to a game that could be seen as too juvenile.

That brings up a good point. Lego Star Wars is marketed as a kids game. This will scare away the hardcore gamers, which is probably a good idea and just what the makers wanted. Hard core gamers who are not Star Wars fans probably should keep looking for a deeper, more challenging game. I am not a kid (per se) but I was still able to find a lot of enjoyment in this game. The most "kid-like" quality is that it is short. In a rental period, you could unlock pretty much anything worth unlocking.

The saving replay factor is that every single level has the chance for cooperative multiplayer, so its a great game to have on your shelf when friends come over. Because its controls are simple and the story is familiar to almost everyone, its a great game for people that don't usually play video games.

All in all Lego Star Wars is a fun great game. Though its not for everyone, its for anyone that likes Star Wars, Legos and accessible gaming.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!
For PS2 this game was awesome!!!!i dont have any other platforms so i dont know about any others but i thought it was really cool, the graphics were avg. compared to most PS2 games and the concept of LEGO and star wars put together was just the icing on the cake. It is a clean game with no gore or blood or anything, so if your parents are like mine and are very strict about what games u can play then even they will let u play THIS game8-) -its a smiley

4-0 out of 5 stars Use the brick, Luke...
Lego star wars. I know what your thinking, "What the hell?!?!" No way! I was expecting a piece of crap considering how bad ALL of the previous lego games were. GOOD GAME. I would highly recommend this. The good stuff is the fun puzzles and collecting the "minikits" and filling up your "jedi meter" to get to the "?" level. The puzzles are fun, the lego characters are funny and inovative, free play mode with a bunch of SW characters is fun, and the hack 'n slash gameply is over all playable.
What is bad? Ok, if you die, you lose 1000 studs, or money, and respawn in the same room. Too easy. Also, the game can be beaten in a measly 6 or 7 hours. Thats about it. Buy the game! I'm a tough critic! I gave Halo 2 a 4! I'm tough as nails! get the game damnit!

4-0 out of 5 stars Love the toy, hate TRU's "slap a label on it and ship it"
Agreement with other reviews; the toy is great, my sons and I are having a lot of fun with the two I ordered. The price (initially) was great, but add the fact that they shipped the two of them separately (so they charged me twice the shipping) and just slapped a label on the box, and the transaction is not so great.

Glad I wasn't wanting this as a gift-giver (boxes were both smashed; luckily, the toys are fine) or a collector (though I don't believe that a toy is more valuable if never played with).

Amazon needs to come down on TRU about this; it's inexcusable.

4-0 out of 5 stars AT LAST A NEW GUNSHIP!
I opened this box and once assembling the gunship I was amazed that it came out of that box! but once again hasbro has screwed up! In the movie the ship is white not grey and, and the green parts should be red and the red green! Also the action features are crap, you get firing cannons on the nose and on top of the ship but in the film the chin turrets are laser blasters, not missiles! And before the clone trooper pilot came with an innacurate scale ball turret that goes on the side of the ship, now the pilot comes with a cannon like the ones seen in star wars IV that CAN'T be attached to the side of the ship. Other than these complaints it's a good vehicle but be warned, you may faint by the number of innaccuracies!

3-0 out of 5 stars Amazon is not packaging this product correctly
I agree with the other reviewers about the extremely poor packaging by Amazon.Mine was shipped UPS in a bag, no protective shipping box at all.The product box was beat up, smashed in and bent all over.Very dissapointing that I had to send back a toy that I had been trying so hard to get due to shabby packaging.

1-0 out of 5 stars Toys great!Amazon's Packaging Stinks Big Time
I was in shock when my Republic Gunship arrived without being packed in a second box to protect it.Amazon put the shipping label right on the box of the ship.It was not even packed in another box to protect it.If you want the actual box to be in good condition don't buy it from Amazon. My box was destroyed and had holes poked in it.I don't know what is going on here but if you plan to open box and don't care about the packaging being in good shape get it at Amazon.I had heard horror stories about other peoples packaging experiencesbut never thought it would happen to me.Oddly enough my Arc 170 fighter was packed in another box very carefully and the shipping was the same for both.

5-0 out of 5 stars a bargain for 25 dollars
my wife got me this ship, mostly becaused i couldnt get the one they made for episode 2, and let me tell you that is the best way to spend the 25 dollars it cost, is like having the real thing but at the scale, working doors, launching plataform for the clone troopers, a beautifull paint job, nothing in this toy is wrong except not buying it, this toy is sure not to last, in fact is hard to find on stores rigth now, so take the abvice of this costumer when i said , GO GET ONE RIGTH NOWW ... 1-0 out of 5 stars not worth it
its so dumb id rather make one out cardboard. this gives starwars a bad name not that it already has one. worst thing ever. worth as much as a used toilet seat.

1-0 out of 5 stars this toy sucks
this toy is the worst toy in the world. this is definatly a toy that should not be sold. it gives starwars an even worse name.
this toy should be 1$

5-0 out of 5 stars ZOOM
This toy is sweet. i love putting my characters in it, but be warned: dont try to put the jedi in it. They'll fit, but it'll be tight and really hard and their skirts will get in the way. If you try to fit them in to hard, the glass top will pop off, and u will have to put it back on. it's still a great toy to have.

5-0 out of 5 stars Cool new fighter
I just got this toy for my birthday, and it is the coolest Revenge of the sith vehicle out right now. It has firing missiles, a tail gunner, and a socket for an R2-D2 figure to fit in. also, it assembles so easily that you can play with it within three minutes. as mentioned before, the doors for the handle make it to small for most to use, but I just remove the doors when the handle is out and problem solved. Yeah, the screw holes show, but unless your some lifeless geek who is going to put it on a shelf to gather dust forever, it really isn't that big a deal, and the left side has no screw holes at all.

5-0 out of 5 stars WWII Night Fighter Meets Star Wars
I just realized what I love about the design of this ship. It's supposed to be "Aggressive ReConassaince" hence the name "ARC" and the art team apparently took their styling cues from the beautiful classic of the 1940s South Pacific, the Northrop P-61 Black Widow.Check out the canopy, how it blends into the fuselage to finish with the tail gunner... it is darn near identical to the Northrop.Nice work.Fun toy.Too bad this is the last time we'll get new toys from a new Star Wars movie...and it's too bad Star TREK is a better series of movies but has way fewer and much suckier toys... but this is a classic Star Wars bundle of goodness in the tradition of those mammoth Kenner plastic monstrosities of the early 80s. This thing is huge and solid, I can use it in a pinch to hold my car up while I change a tire. But I drive a foreign car.Still, it's a durable toy. And easy on the eyes.Fun to look at and play with.Especially considering most of the other new vehicle and spaceship toys from Episode III, at least the ones out now in these pre-movie release days, are pretty lackluster.I mean, Grievous's Husqvarna chainsaw bike and the Wookie catamaran?Lame. But this ARC-170.It is cool.Hop in the cockpit and it will fly you to flavor country. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Overall Great Starfighter
This is a great Lego SW set for both play & display. The set comes with three Advanced Recon Commando pilots, two blasters, and an R5-D4 unit. The ship itself is quite beutiful. It is a bit larger than appears in the picture.

The ARC-170 has a secret compartment for dropping "bombs". The great thing is, the utility used to operate the s-foils also operates the bombs making quick and easy operation of the craft possible.

The s-foils and wings are weak and flimsy although when you set the ship down (with s-foils closed) the ship rests perfectly balanced.

The R5-D4 is a major +Plus+! Everyone loves something diferent than the same old R2 and the red droid matches the ship.

The clones are extremely cool because these pilots are exclusive to this set and are elite ARC troopers. The con though is that only two of the three clones have blasters.

The biggest con is the gunner cockpit. There are holes in the sides and contract from the ships beauty to ad playability. This can easily be fixed with a couple of plates from your own collection but makes it impossible to remove the gunners.

Overall, this is a great starfighter. I love its clones and droid too.

2-0 out of 5 stars The triwinged fighter
This toy gives kids the proper building skill to help them later in life. It also is a lot of fun to build it and use it to make your own star wars arwy(belive i tried it). I belive that this toy is destaned for greatness in the hearts of children. I really like this toy and I'm sure lots of people will agree with me.

5-0 out of 5 stars Like An X-Wing And A Tie Bomber Fused Together
the lego ARC 170 starfighter is awsome!it comes with 3 clone pilots and an astromech droid.you can turn the gear on the back to open the wings.you can also pull on the gear to drop the bombs.the ship is very durable. if you are going to collect some Star Wars Episode 3 legos, you MUST get the ARC 170 Starfighter!

5-0 out of 5 stars A bit more durable than it looks
When I saw the new selection of Star Wars Episode 3 Lego sets, this was the one that grabbed my attention at first glance. The Arc fighter sort of resembles a classic X-Wing fighter.Nevertheless, I approached this set with some tredpidation because the model looks somewhat fragile, what with the long wings and guns at the ends of the wings that would probably fall off easily. It turned out to be a bit more durable than I was expecting.

The Arc 170 Starfighter comes with three identical clone trooper pilot minifigs. Two of them carry blaster guns. Also present is an R2 droid who rides along with them.

The model goes together easily enough, with a nice assortment of regular parts and Technic parts. There's some clever usage of some vertical hinges to create the sloping sides of the front of the vehicle.Colors here are primarily white and red, with some light gray and black here and there.A good blend. There's an unusual hodge podge of colors on the vehicle's underside, but it's not all that noticeable unless you're looking directly at it.The Arc Fighter has a pilot's cockpit up front, and a larger cockpit behind it that seats two gunners and the R2 droid. The canopies of this larger cockpit open outward, and the sides of the vehicle also open (a really nice touch that makes it easy to place the pilots inside). There's room in here for the two blaster pistols. At the rear of the vehicle is a rotating gun turret.

This interesting spaceship has six wings. The middle wings have guns at the end of them.A Technic gear mechanism causes the "X wings" to spread apart into "attack position".The same mechanism is also used to drop little blue "bomb" pieces from the underside of the ship. These two actions (wing spread and bomb drop) can be performed independently of each other. The way the same mechanism is used for both features without forcing us to do both at the same time is clever. The wings tend to wobble a bit as they're being spread.I'm not sure this is the best wing-spreading mechanism, but I have a feeling that a better one might end up being more bulky and thus affect the look of the ship.As it stands, the mechanism used here gets the job done.

This model looks absolutely fabulous with the wings extended, and it's loads of fun to play around with. There's plenty of play value here, and the underside of the vehicle is easy to grip with your hand (another nice touch, how they used some slope pieces to create a sort of "handle" for us to grip it with). As far as durability goes, the main body of the ship is solid.Great design. The middle wings tend to sag a bit when the model is picked up and handled. The extendable "X wings" are on Technic connectors that allow them to be turned at unusual angles. If you accidentally bump a wing, you may have to set it so it's straight again. The design here is inventive, but the durability suffers a bit at the expense of the extendable wing mechanism.I haven't had any problems with the guns breaking loose from the middle wings, but I can imagine them falling off if you're rough with it.A nice feature concerning the guns is that they support the middle wings when the vehicle is set down on a flat surface (we have to close up the "X wings" before setting it down).

The Arc 170 Starfighter is solid fun and earns a thumbs way up from me.Nice vehicle with some very nice features, inventive Technic mechanisms, and loads of play value. This is an impressive effort on Lego's part to deliver a fun building experience and a cool Star Wars model with playability. That effort hasn't gone unnoticed. In spite of a few minor flaws, I'd say that the Arc Fighter delivers very nicely.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Lego set, but could use more support
This is a great Lego set for kids and collectors alike. The model is very close to the real deal, and has a TECHNIC mechanism that moves the wings and drops small "bombs" from the bottom.

PLAY: Very sturdy for "swooshing" and for attacking evil droid armies. The main wings are solid and are well supported. When using the mechanism to open the x-wings, the wings do have a tendency to move around a bit on their axis. This has the effect of making them non-parallel with the main wings. This only affects the display of the model and doesn't detract from the fun.Clone pilots are well secured inside the model, which opens in two directions to provide easy removal of the troops in case they need to escape. The bomb-release mechanism is interesting and easy to use.I was surprised to find that even with the model's unusual shape, the entire model sits flat when places on a tabletop (with the support wings closed) - no worrying about drooping wings here.

LEARNING: All Lego sets have an advantage over normal toys in that they can be taken apart and built into whatever an imagination can create. These are great for building creative skills.

DURABILITY: The only real concern is the relative looseness of the support wings as described above.Additionally, the main wings have large gaps close to the hull where the TECHNIC mechanism for moving the wings pokes through. This hole is larger than it need be, and adding a white plate to the wings here greatly improves the wing stability as well as the overall look of the model. There are also some minor gaps between the hull and cockpit canopies, which can be resolved using flat white 1x4 pieces.

DISPLAY: Looks great on a tabletop or shelf.Surprisingly, its size and fairly good detail allow it to look nice even next to a UCS Tie Fighter or X-Wing.

Great toy with plenty of potential to be rebuilt into some fun models. Can be improved using existing parts to make it a little more structurally sound and closer to the movie model. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars best exclusive toy so far
I love this new exclusive toy in the ROTS line. The window box is such a nice touch. It highlights the detail in this outstanding starfighter. It is nice that they are making toys from all parts of the movie even if they are only in a small part of the film. The Anakin pilot figure with lightsaber and the headband/helmet sets this toy apart from the rest. Now if only they would release the Obi Wan red leader pilot figure sooner than August all would be right in the galaxy. The only other toy in the ROTS line I like as much as this is the Clone Commander figure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Darth Vader's interceptor
The name of this product should really be Darth Vader's interceptor, since he is already Vader by the time he flies the green interceptor to Mustafar to wipe out the Separatist leadership. The distinction is important, and distinguishes the green interceptor from Anakin's yellow one. When he flies this ship, he is now on a mission of evil.

How is the toy?The green works better than the yellow (though not quite as well as Obi-Wan's red), and the off-white is closer to the light grey of the TIE interceptors.Hasbro packages the product with pre-applied stickers.Unlike the other Jedi interceptors, there is no Jedi military roundel (eight-spoked "Ancient" symbol) on the hull of this ship.I wonder whether that indicates manufacturer carelessness or intentional omission.Perhaps because he is no longer a Jedi, Vader's interceptor is unmarked by the Jedi symbol. It certainly wouldn't make sense for Darth Vader to infiltrate the Separatist stronghold unopposed in a fighter marked with the symbol of the Separatists' enemies.

4-0 out of 5 stars Love that green
Love that green. redone, but i still love the window-box as a collecter. The figure is a nice touch as well.

1-0 out of 5 stars What a waste of time!

Re-package,re-paint & add a figure to a toy that is already out & most fans already have! Why do they even bother?

4-0 out of 5 stars Anakin Exclusive Jedi Starfighter
This starfighter is a repackage of the existing Jedi Starfighter (Dark Red for Obi Wan & Yellow for Anakin) repainted in the Green color. This ship will be seen in the Star Wars Episode III film.

Toys R US will be the only place that will get this ship and with the special pack in Anakin figure.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great game
This game was a blast to play, and im still working on beating master difficulty. THe force powers and special moves are great. And the hand-drawn graphics are impressive. The 3D space battles are worth the extra 10 dollars.

In response to the one star guy:
Padawan really isnt all that hard, as for graphic wise i dont know what your talking about. And you must be blocking wrong because i dont take damage. Seriously, if your gunna say a game is bad because you cant beat it, you shouldnt be reviewing games.

Dont be swayed by poor reviews! This game is a must-buy for DS owners (considering DS has a pretty bad lineup right now). Side scrolling fans and star wars fans will love it!

5-0 out of 5 stars the 1-star review guy is wrong
this game is incredible!the difficulty is perfect.i beat the game in 1 day on padawan.the graphics are great ecspecially for a handheld. if that guy can't beat the game on padawan then he should blame himself, not the game.overall the best ds game on the market! buy this game and you will be surprised!

1-0 out of 5 stars messa saya dis bombbad game
I got this game hopeing it would be fun because it was starwars ,i was really wrong! when you block an attack it still hurts you. the graphics are pretty darn bad. on padawan diffuculty it still feels really hard.the starwarsgames for other systems are a load better

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun game
I was really sceptical about buying this game.I was afraid that it was going to be really stupid but I like it.It is the best DS game I have so far.I am glad that I bought it.

4-0 out of 5 stars Some corners cut, overall a good game.
The single player mode is an arcade-style type. The faces are more like over exaggerated cartoons than the real faces. It is a 2D plane (right moves the character forward through the "hallway", up moves the charcter to the characters left in the "hallway," etc.) It's best feature is the Multi- Player. it had the classic 3D arcade feel (just like the game in the arcades where u sit in the chair and u have one joystick) u can face off against classic characters and new characters, like luke skywalker, anakin skywalker, han solo, darth vader, and unlock ships such has the x wing, vader's ty fighter, the millenium falcon (o ya, once u unlock those ships, u can use them against ur friends and completly own *Hint* get the millenium falcon. its the best ship. i beat solo with the x wing) if ur friends are getting this, get it for its multiplayer!! ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Battlefield Star Wars
Four stars (or better) is actually what I'm hoping this game will get considering it hasn't come out yet. This game has the potential to be the best Star Wars game ever. That is, if you don't care too much about Jedi. Basically, this game is like Battlefield 1942 for the PC. You get to fight in all the great battles from all six movies. That's right, I said six movies. This means not only will you get to play as the rebels and the imperials, but you get to play as the republic and the sepratists too! The will also feature at least one planet from Episode III! There are a total of ten planets to battle on and sixteen different maps meaning that some planets will have more than one map. As a soldier for one of the four armies, you'll have five different types of soldiers to choose from. You'll have the regular infantry, the vehicle killers, the pilots, the snipers, and a special type. There should be a total of twenty different weapons. The planets I'm 100% sure will be featured are: Hoth, Tatoonie, Naboo, Endor, Yavin IV, Cloud City, Kamino, and Geonosis. The part I'm most excited about is not the battle on foot but the battle on vehicles. There will be about thirty different vehicles to take down enemies with. While you are on Hoth, you can get a buddy (AI or human player) and go lasso some AT-ATs. I can't wait for Star Wars Battlefront to come out.

5-0 out of 5 stars Star Wars BattleFront
All Right, I know that this game hasn't came out yet, but it should be good. Star Wars Battle is another World War 1 game with one thing different. Star Wars. Controll a character through different Star WArs environments. Including Hoth, Dagaba and Tatooen. I can't wait for this game to come out. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Hurry Up and Look Busy! The Emperor's Coming!
With the arrival of Revenge of the Sith, LEGO has cleverly highlighted the depth of one of the most successful evil Master-Apprentice relationships since Ephiram Lapham and Johnny Tremain with the release of this set.*
The Emperor (or Darth Sidious) and his excitable young friend Anakin Skywalker (or Darth Vader) are given this venerable Lambda-class shuttle to tool around space, popping by unannounced wherever to let their subordinates know how displeased they are with their efforts, and then possibly electrocuting them or choking them to death. Their Sith business model certainly brings new meaning to an `end-of-year review'; when you see this shuttle coming, you'd better have your Stormtroopers get in formation, start them playing the Imperial March, and make sure your Imperial Accountant has cooked the books the so the Emperor doesn'tknow you've wasted his money on Twi'lek dancers and fine Ewok coats.

I confess I got this set mostly for its minifigures. Not only do you get both Sith Lords, but two Royal Guards, four (count `em!) FOUR stormtroopers, and two Imperial Officers. The Royal Guards are what you'd expect, with black spears, large helmets, and red cloth capes. For those familiar with the LEGO Stormtrooper, these guys are slightly different; their pants now have more detail, though in a move that continues to baffle me, the poor little clones have no faces under their masks. I feel bad - I mean, they may be servants of evil, but no faces? It's just odd.
A further change comes to the Imperial Officers: their caps, which used to be generic LEGO caps now closely resemble the caps seen in the films. Inexplicably, the Officers are pinkish in skin hue...I've never seen that before in a LEGO minifigure. Up until these guys, wasn't everyone yellow, a la Simpsons? Oh well, this isn't a forum for issues of LEGO ethnicity.
One final note about the minifigures - Darth Vader now looks slightly shocked as opposed to angry, and has more scars on his face. He is also without his trusty red lightsaber. The Emperor is now all gray in the face and hands, having been previously yellow; how he feels about this is open to debate.

The shuttle itself is impressively constructed, if a little boring. Since it's not a starfighter and not a warship, it sort of slides into a gray zone for Star Wars craft - when it's not shuttling Sith to and fro (or possibly sneaking a team of lovable rebels onto Endor), it doesn't really do much. That being said, the shuttle is surprisingly large (due to its enormous dorsal fin) and functional - the wings fold and lock in multiple positions, and the shuttle is well-balanced when in the `landing' position. The cockpit is spacious, and there's kind of an `oven-tray' in the rear that allows you to store Sith dignitaries or Dark Chocolate M&Ms inside the shuttle with ease.
In addition to the shuttle, you get a crane/repair workstation, a hover-utility vehicle, and a whole mess of tools and boxes to store them in.
So, for a reasonable price ($50USD), you get a nice variety of Star Wars stuff, TEN minifigures, and of course, the shuttle. A good deal for the Star Wars/LEGO enthusiast.

* I apologize for this Master-Apprentice comparison, one, for being lame, and two, for not being true. Johnny Tremain is not evil, but I can't say the same for Ephiram Lapham.

5-0 out of 5 stars An Awesome Toy
This set is great!!Whether you're a collector,a starWars fan,or just looking for a really fun Lego set...THIS IS THE SET!!!!I got this set a few days ago,and had a blast putting it together. It's a lot of fun to play with'and comes with great mini-figs.The ship stays together well'although the guns on the wings fall off sometimes. The Imperial Shuttle was alot bigger than I thought it would be,and it's really cool how people or cargo can go in the back. The little cargo crane, station, and transport vehicle are a big plus. This set is awesome!!!
