If you dont even like Starwars this a must have. I play with GI joes but since I got this Anakin thats changed

4-0 out of 5 stars THE ABSOLUTE BEST STAR WARS TOY EVER
I bought this toy for my son and he absolutely loves it.All of his toys seem to get a one or two day play/attention lifespan from him which is pretty normal for most young kids. But this toy has yet to fall from grace. It's played with almost all day, everyday.

The attention to detail is great and it has amazing posing possibilities. It's a versatile toy if you have some of the Original Trilogy figures... no need to buy a Darth since this Anakin doll can be transformed into the evil Lord Vader. If only Hasbro and Lucas would issue a similar figure for Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in which he could transform into Darth Sidious.

The only draw back to this toy -- AND THIS IS A BIG ONE -- is that the top of the helmet doesn't secure to top of the Anakin/Vader head and constantly falls off during play. And of course, as mentioned in other reviews on this page... those darned boots (for both the Anakin and the Darth costumes) are almost impossible to get back on once taken off.

5-0 out of 5 stars asombroso muñeco de coleccion
este juguete es perfecto para los fans de estr wars como yo solamente de coleccion porque se transforma en darth vader y es muy bueno

5-0 out of 5 stars The best toy in the world no galaxy no any solarsystym
ONLY ONE WORD CAN DESCRIBE THIS TOY THE BBBBEEEESSSTTTT!!! IN EVREY GALAXY

4-0 out of 5 stars Great figure for Star Wars fans!
Previously I got him as part of the Sith Lords 2-pack from Hasbro. The head sculpt on that was the older Anakin and the suit doesn't come off (Not that you can't try).

With this, we get a young Anakin head sculpt, additional crispy head and removable clothing. That in itself is worth the purchase. However, my qualms about this is due to the fact that the Vader suit is the exact SAME version as the one included in the Sith 2-pack. Good thing? Not really. The problem with both Vader suits is the HELMET! Its too big and extended too far towards the back. Definitely something to consider if you are an avid collecter of Darth Vader figures.

Other than that, its actually one of the better 12" figures from Hasbro besides Ultimate Jango Fett. Quality is ok and its very playable with interchangable clothing. If you really want a good Vader, then I recommend the upcoming Medicom Darth Vader, though very pricey. With ample Vader figures coming out, this one has to be a MUST GET despite its poorly scaled helmet.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent!! Excellent!!
Defenitly looks like the real one, the movements of the face are great, my little daughter(2 year old) she thinks that is real and start talk to it.
This toy is defenitly a keeper, you should have one....
and the force be with you.

5-0 out of 5 stars the best star wrs toy by far
this is an awesome star wars toy i like the storytelling part the best so far i have listend to episode 4,and 5. 1 problem though it is not a good toy for kids under the age of 7 or 8 years old although he speaks very broken english like another reviewer said somebody around 10 years or older should be able to understand like me. in wisdom yoda answers your yes or no questions although you should know he has no brain of course so he answers your questions randomly. once i asked him yoda should i have bought you he said no than i asked him is your name yoda he said no to that one to. on trivia he asks you easy questions
that might give a 4 year old a hard time but not me well i had
better get going because my brothers are bothering me goodbye.

5-0 out of 5 stars interactive storytelling jedi master
coooo-ooool! this toy says over 500 phrases, moves its computer animotronic arms to push, and actually opens its mouth!! it has stories, not buisness, questions, not buisness, and activities galore! this computer animotronic robot has a "yes" and"no" button on its hands, that`s all i want to tell you for today.

4-0 out of 5 stars The Force Is Strong With This One
I was surprised to see how lifelike, detailed, and animated Call Upon Yoda is.Yoda will occasionally nod his head, blink, move his arms, and even wiggle his ears while speaking to you. With the exception of Story mode, Yoda is very entertaining and fun to interact with. The Trivia and Answer Question modes are fun and easy to navigate through by pressing Yoda's left hand for "no" and right hand for "yes."

I do, however, have a few minor complaints.Because Yoda's eyes never really fully open, it appears as if he is always sleepy and staring at the ground. Also, the motors that move Yoda's head and arms are rather loud and detract from his realism. Finally, in Story mode, Yoda speaks with such "broken" english that the stories are very difficult to understand and not enjoyable to listen to.

All in all, this little guy is pretty cool and he looks great standing on a desk or shelf.I would recommend Call Upon Yoda to any Star Wars fan young or old.

4-0 out of 5 stars It's fun to pla... er ... consult with
I was originally thinking of just getting the "Ask Yoda" version of the toy, but I found that this version has the "Ask Yoda" feature, PLUS 4 other interactions. It's too cool to NOT buy one.

I think an option to reprogram the sayings by sending new sayings to it would be even cooler.I want my Yoda to combine the wisdom of Billy Bob Thornton and throw out lines from "Sling Blade" for those 'special' occasions (maybe if I double click his hand...)

Anyway, if you're getting an exective desk toy, you might consider the simpler "Ask Yoda".If you're getting a toy for someone under 20, get this one.And if you work for an executive under 20, quick shopping amazon and get back to work :-)

The only drawback of the new version is that it takes C size batteries, not the more universal 'AA' battery. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Battlefront: Real Life Senario in Futuristic times!
Guys, This game is the best! I have friends who HATED star wars stuff that were playing this game! This and Halo 2 will/ have topped the charts! What makes this game so unique to other star wars games is it's battlefield senario- (thus the name). It is almost exactly like 'Medal of Honor' or anyother battle game made for modern systems to a MUCH MUCH greater scale! You can chose from, as said, the rebels or the empire and even the clones! You can be clones or AI as in the movies Episode II and III of Star Wars. The action NEVER stops in this game!

I give it 5 out of 5 stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars This game is the best Star Wars game since Star Wars Obi-Wan
This game is the best Star Wars game since Star Wars Obi-Wan! Lucas Arts did a fantastic job on this game since the 3 DVD Movie Triligy came out. All I can say is "Bravo my friend, Jolly ol' show!"

5-0 out of 5 stars Hopefully one of the best star wars games ever!!
Well, i haven't had a chance to play this since it has not come out yet, but from what i know, you will get to play as the rebels, imperials, republics, or seperatists on worlds spread across the galaxy, inculding tatoonine, kamino, yavin IV, naboo, geonosis, endor, etc. this won't be any normal battle game either, you will get to play as, for example (repubic forces) a clone trooper, at-te, speeder bike, (rebel forces) rebel trooper, x-wing, air speeder, rebel sniper, rebel rocket launcher trooper, etc. (seperatist forces) battle droid, droideka, super battle droid, tank, hailfire droid, etc. (imperial forces) storm trooper, at-st, tie-fighter, etc. this game looks very promising and i am looking forward to it. deffinately a buy-not-rent game.

I wear this suit every day ever since the accident at Jack In The Box with the fryer. I was making some tacos and some grease splashed on me. I was smoking at the time and I caught on fire. I was rushed to the hospital and they put this suit on me. I can't go swimming anymore which is kind of sad since I was the trailor part slip and slide champion three years in a row.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Closest Thing to Having a Real Lightsaber
This is honestly one of the best toys of the year, if not the decade. It uses Xavix technology (you know--the bowling/tennis/baseball games) to track every move of your lightsaber and allow you to battle against many of the Episode I, II, and III characters.

I know, it doesn't sound like much, but the response time on this game is astounding. When you swoosh your saber, you see your blade move onscreen and hear the proper corresponding sound. Awesome! You learn special moves through tutorials in the Jedi Council chamber, and can block other saber swings, attack, and even reflect blaster bolts.

The 2-D graphics are on the level of the Sega Genesis, so they aren't much to look at, but the sounds really help to sell the experience. I don't think I really spent a lot of time examining the graphics anyway. I was too busy trying to dodge blaster bolts.

The saber has no batteries, and no moving parts. The training remote has four infrared emitters that reflect off the saber and track its movement back to the "eye" of the remote. While it's powered by four AA batteries (which seem to last quite a while), it also has a jack on the back for an AC adaptor (if you have a universal adaptor you can use that).

No, this game won't babysit your small children for you or balance your checkbook, but it'll give you an awful lot of fun and get you up and moving at the same time.

If there were only a way to lightsaber Jar-Jar this game would be perfect.

5-0 out of 5 stars somthing, just SOMTHING!
i bought this awsome game on thursday, may 12,2005. it was $50.00 but to me it seemed like it was 100.00!!! i like beating up darth maul the best!!!!! i gave it 5 stars because if u compare this game to a vedio game with lightsaber dueling, THIS GAME BEATS IT DOWN!!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Younger kids are going to need help.
We bought this as gift for our 6 year old.His 3.5 year old brother likes it the best. But you can't just turn it on for them and walk away.I had no problem putting in the batteries and plugging it into the tv.Everytime you turn the game on you have to calibrate your lightsaber moves, this is a pain especially if the kids don't do it right and then you come in as the parent to help them and the sensor can't read your movements correctly. You have to have the sensor at chest level so parents have to get down on their knees to help the kids.

I could live with all this if the boys could just play but there are several interuptions at levels where they need grown up help. The first is right after the first level where the kids practice hitting targets, then they are asked to enter their names by scrolling through the list of letters one at a time. The only way to skip this is to scroll through the whole alphabet to get to the word "end" and then swipe the saber in the air the right direction.Sounds easy but you are controlling everything by how you point your lightsaber in the air and if they didn't calibrate it right, you are all over the place. Then they get to fight at another level before having to stop and master a 3 part saber move.Neither boy can do this so I am back on my knees again trying to get the move completed 3 times to move on.I wish it was just contestants to fight. The master moves and name spelling make the thing a pain.Otherwise they have lots of fun slashing the bad guys and can win at several levels.I know it is for ages 6-12 but these little anoyances could have made it more fun for a wider age range.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW
This is the best of the line-up of new star wars toys that have come out due to the new movie. First of all, you dont just lay around the couch and exersice your thumbs. Oh no, this game will work up a sweat in 15 min. With its cool gameplay modes like the training and battlling anakin, palpatine ect. Over all, this toy is a WOW buy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great For Big Kids
This game took me completely by surprise.I have been a big Star Wars fan for a long time.I just bought the episode III game for XBOX, and this lightsaber game beats it hands down. This game is amazing!I worked up a sweat trying to make it to the fourth level. If you like Star Wars then this game is a must no matter what your age is. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Expose your inner Sith!
Sup. This lightsaber is so sweet. It is very durable and light enough to wield swiftly. Even though it doesn't light up ang the gripping area is farily large, there are far more pros then cons like this. It can easilly extend and fully retract at the push of a button. It clips neatly to your belt or pocket. This lightsaber is a great buy, and I recomend it to anyone, Star Wars fan or not. So pick it up, extend, and expose your inner Sith!

5-0 out of 5 stars coolest lightsaber ever!
this lightsaber is uber-cool. its extremely durable and can hold up to heavy blows to other lightsabers. some people say its hard to get in but just hold the button down and it will slide right in like a hot knife through butter

5-0 out of 5 stars Bringing out the JEDI in you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this lightsaber!!!!!!!!!! I bought this one, a blue one, a purple one, and a green one. I love all of them. I love getting the green and blue one and acting like general grieviuos. I love this one because it really makes you feel like a sith. I love to put on my scary looking halloween costume and grab this lightsaber and get in touch with my inner sith. lol. This one has my favorite handle. I love the color of the handle, and the gripping part is a bit bigger than the others. The only problem is that the belt clip(thing that lets you put in on your belt) is a little smaller than the other ones i got. I love to put them all around my waste and become the ultimate jedi master. If only I had 2 more arms i could use all 4 of them like general grievious can. These are better than the electronic one i have because they aren't as big and are more durable. They also retract fully which i love. And they don't just slide out like the electronic ones either. You press down on this red button and thrust it out. The only problem is the top section of the lightsaber sticks and doesnt want to go down sometimes. But almost all lightsabers do that. I love to battle my dad even though i usually lose. He never uses jedi moves, he only uses sword and normal moves. lol. I LOVE THIS LIGHTSABER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Completely Awesome!!!
Five stars any day of the week! Those fancy lightup ones are light fragile and they bend real easily. This is the best toy I've ever bought. My friends and I duel all the time, even after we bought them-we fought in the Toys-R-Us parking lot. These are awesome! They're very durable and will last forever. I recommend this product highly!

4-0 out of 5 stars Let the Sith in you run wild
This is one awesome lightsaber. It is really durable. If you're a Star Wars fan I recommend getting it.I have two so my *neybor* and I can duel all the time. This one is totaly better than the electronic ones. They probably last like ten times longer. The only bad thing is that sometimes the blade is hard to get back in.But other than that it is awesome!!!

Editorial Review

Lego has done it again; giving us another awesome addition to their Star Wars collection, this time with this two-piece Revenge of the Sith set. You construct both the Jedi Starfighter that Anakin Skywalker (figure included) pilots in combat, as well as the Vulture Droid of the Separatist arsenal. Both of these models stand alone as finely detailed Lego units equipped with some of the best decals you’ll find. The instructions take you step by step through the simple assembly of both vehicles so there is no difficulty in achieving results. Have fun outfitting the models following the step-by-step directions or go off on your own to create unique Star Wars ships. This is a Lego product so you’ll want to be aware of the numerous small pieces that aren’t suited for young children (recommended 7+ years of age). There’s fun to be had with this toy for Star Wars collectors or Lego fans alike! --Chip Quinn ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME TOY!!!
I jsut got this toy today and it is awesome!!! People lie they say it falls apart easly that is total poppycock. it is very durable and i will have much fun playing with this and all my other star wars lego sets that i have now and that i will get in the future.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great and Durable
This lego was great and was the second episode 3 lego I got.I think that lego could have made this item a little bit better but overall, it was pretty cool. If lego had only put a little more on it, it would be the perfect lego. Still, it is a great lego and is defenitally worth the money.

5-0 out of 5 stars Favorite Toy
This is a good toy. I think that the best thing about it is the things that open up. The only problem is that the cockpit keeps falling apart. I also like the action figure.

4-0 out of 5 stars Return of the fragile Lego models
They're back! The fragile Lego models with parts that break off if you touch it the wrong way are back with a vengeance (pun intended). This set builds a Jedi Starfighter and a smaller droid fighter, both of which come with their own pros and cons.

This set comes with one minifig.Anakin Skywalker. He has a blue light saber (not the light-up kind).

Anakin's Jedi Starfighter is the coolest thing about this set. It's a great little ship with a unique cockpit canopy. It goes together easily enough.Nothing too difficult here.Colors are yellow, dark gray, light gray, and black. We get an interesting assortment of pieces here to work with, and a sheet of decorative decals.I have to say, these are some quality decals. When I assembled this model, I accidentally placed one of the decals the wrong way.I noticed this the next day.Removing and reapplying the decal was not a problem, and even though it was removed and replaced, it looks as good as new! There is not a scruff mark on this thing, and it sticks to the piece as well as it did when first applied.Lego knows that the point of this toy is to build, take apart, and build again; so none of the decals here link two pieces together.Kudos to the designers of this model! That's the way things should be.

The Jedi Starfighter has two wings with posable solar panels on them. The instructions say to angle the wings downward (they're on adjustable connectors), but I like it better with the wings straight. If you angle the solar panels appropriately, the ship looks sort of like Darth Vader's tie fighter. It's very cool.Sort of like a mixture of Darth Vader's tie fighter and Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator. The ship has three sturdy and retractable landing gears, and Anakin's light saber fits in the cockpit with him. This ship is loads of fun to play around with, swooping around in dogfights with the droid fighter.

In our durability department, Anakin's little ship leaves a bit to be desired. It's kind of fragile, and the two little guns on the outside of the wings can easily fall off.The larger guns on the inside of the wings are remarkably stable. On top of the wings, there are two smooth plates that could easily come loose because they're not connected to much else. This isn't a model to be rough with.

The droid fighter is reminiscent of the brown droid fighters from Episode 1.This droid fighter is a mixture of light and dark blue, with some black and white. There are some nice decals that give him some cool detail. His wings are quite flimsy and easily break apart.Just like Episode 1's droid fighter, this guy can transform into "walking mode".Just turn his wings so they're facing downward (the wings become his legs), remove his head and snap it on the front, and you've got a "walker droid".Nifty.He's a cool droid fighter; but again, he's not meant for rough play.Very fragile, and wings easily fall apart. In spite of this, he is an improvement over the brown Lego Droid Fighter from Episode 1, and I like his colors better than that dull brown one.

The fragility notwithstanding, I'm giving this set a thumbs up.If you're not rough with the spaceships, it's all good. Both of 'em are fun to build and play with.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fun but frustrating
My 4 1/2 year old loves this toy - actually he loves all things "Star Wars" at this point. We had a lot of fun putting it together. He found the pieces we needed and helped me put them in the right place. It develops concentration and skills in following instructions. The only gripe I have is that it falls apart far too easily - so often that after two weeks my son will be able to put it back together himself after watching me do it repeatedly. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Star Wars Fun!!!!!!
My 3 year old loves this, he also has the millenium falcon, which he loves even more! They are more durable then you might expect, yes he does taske them apart, but they don't break and are able to be put back together!

4-0 out of 5 stars this toy is fun
i liked this toy because it has luke skywalker.i got it when i was 5.this toy makes lots of sounds from star wars.it can even mov e its laser guns.it comes with r2d2 and luke skywalker.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice toy for little hands
After getting the Millenium Falcon for her 8 yr old cousin, I saw that this was the favorite toy among the kids at the party. The one I got had 4 feet to the Falcon (Iguess a spare) and putting on all the stickers was definetly an adult job. This is an absolutely great gift for kids (boys or girls).Very durable and oh so cute.

I wish Hasbro would put out a Galactic Heroes Speeder Bike and Jungle Leia with Ewok (that would be soooo cute and to have a girl with a vehicle) and they also need a TIE Fighter with a Darth Vader!I am looking for an excuse to get the Falxon and X-Wing for my daughter, because mommy already has a big falcon and can't justify getting another!

My 4 yr old daughter loves Queen Amidala and kept asking for another one (I found 2 "skipper" sized golls on clearance). She LOVES Princess Leia and her husband Han Solo. She carries then everywhere and has them to parties with the Happy Family Barbie todlers. Now if I can oly find the Padme & Anakin set, she will be in heaven!I hope they come out with more girl jedi's in their two packs.Even though mommy loves Darth Vader, she can't get into the concept of liking a scary bad guy.I guess I'll keep those for when she's older.

With most action figures, not much in the way of educational value but she role plays with these two all the time. A+ to Hasbro and Star Wars for coming out with cute kid friendly action figures!

5-0 out of 5 stars What a great toy this is!!!
My boys got the x-wing fighter and the Millenium Falcon for christmas and LOVE them.My boys are 3 and 6.They couldn't quit playing with it.I love that it has so many characters that you can collect to go with them. The only thing that bugs me is that the window on the X-wing comes off easily. It is easy to replace, but annoying to a mother! ÜOverall this toy is the greatest!I love it and think the characters are darling.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome and Loads of Fun
My kids received this for Christmas.I couldn't wait for it to come out. Even though it wasn't due out until Spring of 2005, Santa delivered them right before Christmas to Toys R Us.My 4 and 6 year olds absolutely LOVE it.The sound effects and voices of Luke and Obi Won are wonderful and really gets them into role playing and recreating the battle scenes in Episode 4.
I highly recommend this toy for any parent who's little one is a Star Wars fan.I also highly recommend the Galactic Heroes Millenium Falcon. It is just as much fun.The boys have both and are hopeful that a Galactic Heroes Tie Fighter will be next on Hasbros agenda to produce! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars cool ship
This is an awsome ship! Well at least Anakins is. My cousin has a green Anakin jedi starfighter and I want to get the new Obi-wan Kenobi one that is coming in September. The only thing that is not good about it is that there is a little opening in the cockpit that Anakin's hand (the Green ship comes with an Anakin that has a normal hand and one holding a lightsaber) fell through.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best Star Wars vehicles
I've got several Star Wars vehicles, but this is one of my favorites. It feels a lot more durable than some of the other vehicles, and with the firing missles and flip-out wings, it's pretty cool.

I like that they started molding some of the pieces out of a vinyl material instead of having the whole thing be hard plastic.(The "guns" down the center of the ship are vinyl.) The vinyl won't crack off if it hits something.

Two things I did note, though:

First, the flip-out wings flip out nicely when you push the release button, but snapping them back in closed position was harder than expected; I end up having to partially depress the release button to get them to snap in.Not a big deal for me, but for a younger child that might be tough.

Second, the R4 droid is removable and supposedly you can put an R2-D2 figure in the slot.I bought the Episode III R2-D2 and his feet are a little too wide so he won't fit in there. That was a little disappointing but not a deal-breaker.I still think the ship rocks.

5-0 out of 5 stars cool
I must say this is a cool toy. This jedi starfighter is actually the past TIE-Fighter if you look at the weird looking circle in the middle.

5-0 out of 5 stars BUY IT!
I've been a star wars collector for many(over 20) years. So far, without even having seen the movie, the Ep. 3 toy collection is the best. Both the Obi-wan and Anakin Jedi Starfighters(same exact ships, different colors) are among my all-time favorites, along with the ARC-170.Both are worth more than the price tag in my opinion.

5-0 out of 5 stars Astromech droid can't fit!
I did not get the Obi-Wan starfighter, but I did get the Anakin. It is an awesome ship, except for the fact that the R2 I purchased just for the ship, did not fit. I don't know if they are going to make another R2 just for the ship, but the one they have now does not fit.....and that's a bummer. Besides that, the overall ship is great and a cool predecessor to the TIE fighter. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars The most fun you'll ever have being horribly annoyed
Full of fabulous facts about the saga, this game is the hardcore Star Warrior's dream....AND worst nightmare. You'll have fun playing it at home but get fits from your friends who bring it out with a big smirk, saying, "Okay, now, let's see how much you REALLY know about 'Star Wars'...."May The Force Be With You, you'll need it! Hee hee

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Game I Own, but for Hardcore Fans Only
You better know your stuff before you plan on purchasing this game and make sure you know 2-4 people who know more than they should as well about the Star Wars universe. Some of these questions are extremely tough and there are very few easy ones. I used to play the Decipher Star Wars card game, so my memory of those cards actually helped me a lot with remembering certain characters that were barely mentioned in the films. This is a truly great game that we knowledgeable Star Wars fans finally deserve.

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're a Star Wars fan, this is fun
There's nothing like getting together with fellow Star Wars fans and play this special version of Trivial Pursuit. It's great! It's just like the old Trivial Pursuit with, of course, questions only about Star Wars. When you try for a wedge, however, you have to resort to one of two DVDs that come with the game for the question. If you don't answer the question in the time limit given, your oponents can shout out the right answer - as long as they don't have the wedge - and possibly steal it from you. If you like the classic Trivial Pursuit and you happen to be a Star Wars fan and you have a couple like-minded friends or family members, this is a lot of fun and definitely worth the money. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Day late and a dollar short of greatness
Over the years Star Wars fans have forgiven alot in the video games that Lucasarts has produced. Not that most of the games are bad its just that Star Wars is such a beloved franchise that the LA knows that fans will forgive things like the ommission of the balance, polish and tweaking that makes great games in order to fly in an X-wing or hear the hum of a lightsaber under their control.

Unfortunatley Jedi Academy suffers from this neglect. Granted the graphics are good, the sound is crisp and the controls are responsive once you get used to them. All that aside the game just doesn't deliver on several key aspects.

First of all you really don't create your own character. You get to choose from six very similar models and then you can pick out a shirt and a pair of pants. Things like race or hair color are all covered under the "head" option of which there are three for each model. So if you wanted to create a Jedi in your own image or a saber wieldin' wookie you are out of luck.

The game is also fairly predictable and very linear. If you have played Obi Wan or Jedi Outcast then you already know what to expect from most of the levels. Basically you get dropped into the front of a level and you have to fight your way to the back through hordes of inept enemies to flip a switch or fight a slightly less inept boss. This is disappointing because this is the third installment and I was hoping for some variety.

My biggest gripe is that the game is not very well balanced. I don't know why the developers at LA bothered to put in other weapons because you really only need your lightsaber to beat the game. Most of these other weapons are holdovers from the original Darkforces and are ineffective or unnecessary.

The balance of the AI is also a little off. All non-saber wielding foes are very easy and stand still waiting for their turn to be cut down. Dark force users seem difficult at first but once you figure out their pattern of attack they too are easy to dispatch. Clearly lightsaber combat is the focus and attraction of the game but even this key element is unbalanced because the the staff and dual sabers are so vastly superior to the single blade.

Even with all these faults JA is a solid game and anyone who is a fan of the Star Wars franchise will enjoy it. I just wish that the people at Lucasarts would quit banking of the loyalty of their fans and instead start relying on the quality of their products.

5-0 out of 5 stars It's all about the lightsaber
I don't really consider myself a gamer, but I do consider myself a major Star Wars geek. One day I spotted "Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" in a list of upcoming games. That was it -- no detail, just the name of the game, but I *knew* I had to have it.

This game was a good buy -- I'm very happy with JA. Players can customize their character, build their own lightsaber (and later decide between dual sabers or a saber staff), choose their Force powers, and take on numerous enemies on different worlds. The early levels are easy, but the last tier of missions gets harder. All those Sith groupies get pretty hard to take down! (Force Grip works really nice, though -- just drop 'em off a nice, high ledge. *evil grin*)
I do have a few quibbles with the game -- for instance....
*spoiler space* (not sure if I need this or not)
...
...
...
...
...
The Force powers you choose don't actually have an impact on if you choose the light side or dark side. As far as I know, you can go all dark powers and still choose the light side, and vice versa. I prefer a sampling of all powers, except Drain and Rage.
Also, I'm annoyed by a certain bounty hunter's invulnerability. I blasted away at him with rockets and lightning and he *would not* die. I even tested this by putting on cheat codes (and there are some fun codes, btw), pulling out the heavy guns, and blasting him until his health bar went completely down, and he still didn't die. Fair warning, y'all. Use Force speed or something.
In addition, let me just say that the story line is pretty lame, and some of the voice acting is awful. But hey, it's Star Wars...remember that acting isn't what it's all about. You're nodding your head -- yeah, you know what I'm talking about.

It's all about the lightsaber. The color, the hum, the screams of the enemy as the blade slashes through them...most satisfying, indeed. Although I beat JA soon after I got it, I still play the game. If you call yourself a SW nerd, you must get Jedi Academy. My quibbles are minor; my enjoyment is off the chart.

Love that 'saber.

A Good Star Wars Game
I hadn't really heard a lot about this game before I purchased it but I usually like Star Wars games just based on the universe that it is set in. Most of the games have flaws but you play them for the experience of being one of the characters from the movies. This game was very fun and decently long. I liked how you progressed through the game with force powers and you can eventually choose dual lightsabers or a staff. The beginning of the game is very tedious and boring because your force powers aren't really advanced yet and your only enemies are storm troopers that do nothing but shoot and miss you and then you swing your lightsaber at them once and they are dead. But later on you get to fight a lot of other jedis and this is when the game gets really fun. You have to figure out different ways to kill these jedi because you can't always beat them just swinging your lightsaber(s). I liked to force grip them in the air and throw my lightsaber at them. The graphics are a little choppy and aren't the best for xbox and the gameplay is a little repetitive but if you like Star Wars games then you should give this one a try. It is worth buying because it's a little long and you can try the light and dark paths. Plus if you have xbox live there are good multiplayer games.

5-0 out of 5 stars awesome game if you dig SW. read on and i'll explain
this game has awesome graphics and even better gameplay. it has tons of multiplayer combinations including, free for all, capture the flag, one on one, and more. it is also online enabled for Live. play single player and you are a student at the acadamy to train and become a jedi master. you can pick your species for your character, human male or female, rodian and 2 or 3 more but i forgot. sorry. also you can pick its face, style of shirt, style of pants, and color of its outfit.

pick from multiple combinations of your lightsaber: color of the blade, hilt style (handle), and later on in the game you can choose from a double lightsaber like darth maul's in the movie Star wars I phantom menace. or you can wield 2 standard lightsabers in both hands. lots of missions and excitement. you feel like and actual jedi because you can controll about 20 different force powers including speed, jump, heal, lightning, rage, sense, and protect to name a few. you also have a choice of weapons to choose from. including a mini-portable rocket system, an imperial repeater, and a fletcher weapon, and a wookie bocaster to name a couple. also choose 1 of 3 explosives: trip mines, hand gernade, and detanation packs. and when you run out of weapons and explosives, there are lots of pickups during the game.

fight imperials, robots, sith lords, rancors and many other enimies. this game is moderately chalenging. nothing too hard or easy. a very enjoyable game. if you like the star wars movies or just really dig the games, this is a perfect game to add to your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars Jedi Academy
My opinion about this game is that it is fun. The reason this game is cool is because you can choose sides and sabers. Hideouts get you out of trouble. The level I think is hardest is Castle of the Dark Lord. The best feature of the game is riding hover bikes with guns on them. Riding hover bikes is fun. I recommend this game to fans of Star Wars. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for young Star Wars fans
This is a very fun toy. I recommend this toy for any Star Wars fan.
If you have a lot of imagination, this is much better than a electronic lightsaber. These are very durable and they go down all the way, unlike the electronic lightsaber. It's also fairly inexpensive. Okay, so there are a few bad things about this toy. My
two critical comments about it are that it is not for an unimaginative mind because it does not light up. Secondly, there are white factory stripes on the blade. But overall because it is very durable and fun to play with, I give it five stars. ... Read more
